I had terrible technical problems with fallen order and never finished it but I could see there was a good game under all the issues. I'm interested and hoping they actually make the game playable on release. That stuttering/freezing thing mid battle was intolerable.
As someone with both systems please listen when I say, DON'T OVERPAY FOR THESE!! There's nothing on xbox that isn't available on pc or last gen and the almighty exclusives sony fans are so proud of are, fine. But I just want people to know that what you're getting is more of the same, just done a bit nicer and faster. SSD speeds are nice, 4k is nice, quick resume is nice, but none of it justifies $250 or more above MSRP. Cards on table and for the sake of perspective I majorly overpaid for the ps5. It was early this year and supply chain issues plus scalpers meant there was no way these would be available anytime soon. And that wound up being true. It's only now I'm hearing of systems at retailers. So I did what I had resisted since launch and bought one off ebay. Judge if you must. But as I said above, it's not a vastly different experience. Just some QoL improvements and the ps5 controller is pretty slick. But all that goes away when you fire up forbidden west and realize it's the exact same game as zero dawn, just bigger in scope. This is literally one of those "what people think I do vs what I actually do" memes. Don't do what I did.
@simonthekid7: it didn't even come close to making money. The worldwide box office was 390 million. They spent 290 million in production and advertising and they only keep 55 percent of domestic box office and about 40 percent of the international. Except China in which they only get about 25 percent at best but this didn't even play in China because the ccp (the government, not the population) is completely racist. This means the studio saw about 100 million less than they needed to break even, let alone make a profit. People seemed to like it, but it was a total failure. This article is misleading in that it doesn't account for the percentage the theaters keep.
I'm sure it'll be about Kratos, and in a respectful way. Wait, they did rings of power. Kratos will be toxic bad man and Atreus will be made female and/or gay.
This blows my mind. It was one of the major criticisms of Horizon Forbidden West, Aloy constantly commenting on what you should be doing. It's worse here because generally I want to hear the dialog. But Atreus and Mimir won't just shut their faces. I've had to turn the dialog off because occasionally I get stumped and I spend time looking at everything in detail. It's the whole immersion thing, looking closely at the world and figuring it out. Also, they didn't do this in GoW 2018. Not that aggressively anyway.
Lose the shades, but yeah. He's pretty Marcus. I can't remember the name of the character but with the shades on he looks like the british dude who was always picking fights in 4.
The thing is, the premise for the game is pretty dull. What makes gears fun is the gameplay and there's going to be none of that in a movie. It's the same with nearly every game that gets turned into a movie.
I liked the first one but I had an awful time finding where I was supposed to be going. Anyone else have that problem? I'm curious about the setting. They really made the building in the first one feel alive and malevolent and the enemies had an awesome creepiness to them.
You know what? Good for ps4 owners. This looks really good on ps4 and with the complete s*** show around getting a ps5 and the fact that it only makes things look a bit nicer, stick with the 4. I've had a ps5 for several months and I like it, but it has also been underwhelming. I wouldn't say I regret getting it but the amount of hassle involved in finding one was not justified. And the same is true of the series X.
