so i'm looking to upgrade my ps3's hard drive and i want to upgrade to something around 250gb, performance is important but above all i want it to be quiet and reliable. so far i looked around and i like the 250gb Western Digital Scoripo Blue. i don't want to go over, say 70$-80$. what hard drives should i consider?
today when i played my ps3 i noticed that i can hear the HDD "thinking" it's the 80gb HDD that came with the console... i can't remember hearing it before, but it doesn't sound any louder than a computer's HDD, and as i said it may have done that before but i just didn't realize. can you hear your ps3's HDD? or is it a sign that my HDD is failing and i should be backing-up and swapping it before i lose all my stuff?
so today i replaced my ps3 original 80gb HDD (Toshiba, i think) with a Hitachi 160gb one that used to be external. it works ok and my games and everything is running fine. however, i can now hear the hard drive loading, it kind of like the sound computers make when they load. you know, that clicking sound. it doesn't affect gameplay, and it's only audible when it's really quiet, but i don't remember the "original" HDD being audible. is this a sign that i didn't install it correctly? or that it's going bad? could it harm my ps3? please let me know what you think.
i get the "preloading game resources" with the little earth on it a lot lately (i think this started happening after the last update). it happens when switching from play to create mode and vice versa, and sometimes when coming back from a level. what does it mean and is it normal? thanks
so i have an american PSN store account, and usually it works fine, however, my european friend came over a couple of months ago and got me LBP and RFG, now, i can't download add-ons for them as they won't work. i don't want to start a completely new account and re earn all the trophies (I'm so close to platinum on infamous), so what can i do? one thing i thought of doing is opening a separate european account, use that to download the add on, and then copy it to my regular user, will that work? or will i get stuff like trophies and saves lock out?
so turns out my ps3 ccontroller i fot from e-bay was fake, big surprise, now it doesn't work (it never did work great) and i want to buy a new one. i want a white dualshock 3, but as i live in the UK, they're unavailble, so i looked online and found play-asia. the sight looks fine and the price is like a real controller. but i wonder, as i have never used this one before, will it be a real sony controller? or just a knock-off?
