@krigan: "no more console gens" " will continue to support the same family of console for years and years"

NO MORE CONSOLE GENS

WTF does that mean to you, Einstein?

Sounds like snake oil to me.

@Gelugon_baat: The funny thing is the Chinese KOF knock off game was better looking than this. They should have just outsourced the development as opposed to doing it in house, since SNK seems to pretty behind the curve in game design.

@Gelugon_baat: Any link that I would have given you would have been in Mandarin as that's where I saw it initially, it was a while ago back when I was flipping through some KOF forums.

@Gelugon_baat: It was all over the Chinese media, that the Chinese now owns KOF. It was a big deal at the time, since KOF is the biggest fighting game franchise in China, far more popular than Street Fighter.

KOF is actually far more popular in China than it ever was in Japan. So much so that Chinese companies have made KOF knock off games in the past, but finally having the rights to make a legit KOF was always a dream for Chinese gamers.

If they market this game properly in China, it could be a system seller for PS4's Chinese console division. A lot of old school Chinese gamers, the guys who have tons of money, grew up playing KOF in Chinese arcades and internet cafes.

It was rumored that the sole reason for acquiring SNK was for the KOF franchise.

@RogerioFM: The thing is the Chinese guy who bought it should have bought one less Gold plated Lamborgini and given this game a proper budget.

Its a bit embarrassing releasing KOF looking like this. Now people are gonna say, see what happens when Chinese people take over KOF, they make it look ghetto. LOL

A disgrace to Chinese billionaires everywhere. And KOF is like the biggest thing in China. Nobody plays Street Fighter over there.

@RSM-HQ: What I don't get is why the Chinese guy who owns the IP won't open up his billionaire wallet and give us a decent sprite based KOF.

Chinese billionaires who buy dying companies for personal reasons are a dime a dozen. But if they bought the IP they should have at least paid to do a proper KOF game.

Chinese can afford to lose money, just think of it a philanthropy, for all of us old school KOF fans.

@RogerioFM: They can't afford sprites, this why they lowered the budget. Sprite art in HD is the most costly thing known to man.

Apparently it costs so much money and time to do sprite art for the last two KOF games the SNK almost ditched KOF forever.

A Chinese company ended up buying the IP and financing this game. Must have been a Chinese guy that used to play a lot of KOF when he was a kid.
