@joshrmeyer: Its pretty simple unless Sony plans on reimbursing countries like UK for their higher pound on all services and products, they have no right to try to gouge on exchange rates.

Because its notorious that according to the international exchange rate UK has been paying more for everything for decades now. They deserve a refund.

@suicidesn0wman: I think MS thinks more in terms of global price scaling where you make up on the lower currencies due to the higher currencies. I.E UK Pound has always traded higher than the USD and always will, but UK pay the same prices for services in pound. Do you think anyone is planning on lowering UK prices to match global exchange rates anytime soon? Nope, cause they make more money off of UK for the same product and services.

Global Corporations need to keep scaling in mind, you can't nitpik otherwise you're changing your prices every week to accommodate global market trends.

You will always make more in one territory than another and vice versa, its about finding a median and balances each other out.

Sony needs to understand that Canada will be seeing a 20 dollar increase on their prices, how many people will cancel because of this? Canadian aren't thinking about global exchange rates.

@joshrmeyer: Its called scaling. You do not penny pinch according to the fluctuation of currency across the globe. Otherwise you would need to adjust your prices every single week, cause money goes up and money goes down.

You basically find a median and stick with that price. Because you will end up making more money from some territories than others and that makes up for the lower currency regions. I.E In UK the consoles and prices are more or less the same as the US prices, but UK Pound is always higher on international exchanges.

The higher currencies usually makeup for losses on the lower currencies and vice versa.

Otherwise you would need adjust your prices every single week.

Watch Sony lose tons of customers because of this, you're essentially raising the Canadian prices from 50 to 70, that's a 20 dollar increase. People will just end their PSN Plus and use Xbox Live instead.

Again, you don't penny pinch on international currency exchange rates, especially for long term services like these. You have to think that they are making more money on higher UK exchange rates on the same product and services.

Its like in China, the currency of the RMB is literally 8 times lower than the USD, but doesn't mean you sell a bottle of coke for times more in China. You sell the coke for what the market can bare. Which may or may not be 8 x more.

@defiler: Its paid, but you can't get that many games for that price a month. Its like cheap packaged games.

You get a random pack of game every month for cheap.

@gunpackingcows: I like to know whenever I invest my time that I will get an ending. This applies to books, music, games, movies and series.

With the way shows are structured now, there is no guarantee I will ever see an ending to the show before it gets cancelled. Its like playing a game without knowing if the game will ever end or watching a movie without knowing if I need to buy more tickets to see an ending.

The way American shows are set up is wrong. Asians have been doing serialized series way before it became popular in America, but the Asians do if different there is no season. A show can be 50 episodes in length or even 100 episodes, but they are always written with a beginning middle and end, and are shot all at the same time and aired according to the TV stations seasonal output.

This method ensures that ALL shows have an ending, no Firefly BS. Every show has a beginning middle and end regardless of how many episodes it is. This ensures that the viewer watching the shows knows that they will see an ending.

This is how all shows should structured. The idea that you make a show and keep milking the story until the ratings drop and you get cancelled is a poor method.

This is why I don't watch 99 percent of the American shows out there. "True Detectives" had it right, one show, one story, one season. Doesn't matter if its 12 episodes or 100 episodes.

@joshrmeyer: No offense cause MS obviously does. Cause MS charges 60 US and 60 CAD.

If MS can afford to charge the same price for their services both in US and Canada, then why can't Sony?

Answer that Einstein.

@davillain-: Their CEO need to start selling their houses then. Cause people don't like getting fleeced.

That's a real sneeky one they pulled with Canada. Those dirty sneeky little Sony execs.
