@iandizion713: Ain't Nobody said the GameCube won vs the PS2, Einstein, learn to read.

I said that Nintendo once made a console that was more powerful than the competition. Which as the original question, has Nintendo ever made a more powerful console, the answer is Yes. Twice.

The SNES was more powerful than the Sega Genesis and won the console war. The GameCube was more powerful than the PS2, but lost the console war.

But they all sold better than the Wii U.

@iandizion713: FACT Wii vs GC CPU

1 x 0.729GHzvs 1 x 0.486GHz

How the hell is that 1.5x faster, that's a 30% increase in clock speed, keep in mind the Motion Control use up the extra CPU overhead.

@simmons5533: When Leprechauns fly. Nintendo is quickest to dump their old consoles amongst the big three. The GameCube and the Wii had the same hardware and they refused to release Wii games on it. Tons of Wii games like Super Paper Mario and New Super Mario would have run perfectly on GameCube but was never released.

So, no, Ninty is ditching the Wii U for sure.

@iandizion713: Actually no. The Wii was exactly the same specs as the GameCube. So it was not better, but cheaper. The Wii was essentially a recycled GameCube with a motion controller.

@simmons5533: So true.

But mind you once Nintendo had the most powerful console in the market.

GameCube was faster than both PS2, it was almost the most powerful console of its generation. It was so powerful that Nintendo decided to release the same console again as the Wii.

LOL So there the Wii is the slimmed version of the GameCube. And the GameCube was the most powerful Nintendo console of its Generation.

@simmons5533: Of course they won't be supporting it anymore, same way they stopped supporting the GameCube when Wii was released and stopped supporting Wii when Wii U was released.

Considering that Wii U and NX will be using completely different specs and even control method, I don't think there is any doubt that the Wii U is dead the moment NX is on the shelves.

Anyways regardless if there are people willing to save a buck on buying dead consoles are not. There is no way on Earth that you are gonna find 9 million of those chumps. 1 or 2 people trying to save a buck on the Wii U over the NX is possible, but 9 million chumps, is impossible, considering that in 4 years they have only been able to sell to 13 million chumps, how are they gonna find 9 million more after the NX is released.

Wii U is Ninty's worst console period, and they follow the same path, they will get the same result.

@simmons5533: Nobody gonna be spending money on a dead system that is no longer even supported anymore. Because Wii had the exact same specs as the GameCube, literally it was the same hardware, but nobody chose GameCube over Wii when Twillight Princess came out, they bought the Wii instead.

You'd need to be an idiot to buy a console that is being replaced.

@iandizion713: Virtual Boy was NOT a HOME CONSOLE, sorry.

By your logic, you can call GameBoy, GameBoy Advance, GameBoy Color, etc, etc, etc, all home consoles. You can even call the Nintendo Disk Drive a home console. NO

A Home Console is an official Nintendo Console designed to replace the last home console.

P.S Stop changing the topic, face the fact that your argument was defeated when GameCube proved to way more successful than Wii U. Changing the topic, doesn't change the fact that you lost the debate.

@simmons5533: Ain't gonna Sell 9 million Wii U's, also Zelda is cross-plat on NX, so chances are if you wanna play Zelda, you will not be buying a dead old console, instead you will buy the new console.

Zelda is unlikely to move any Wii U's, but rather will move NXs. Zelda on Wii U is just for people who already own the Wii U, just like how Twilight Princess did not move GameCubes, it moved Wiis.

So, no, Wii U is not gonna pass GameCube, I'd bet my house on that.
