Dead Space 1 actually had me genuinely scared for the first several chapters, I definitely did not welcome combat, I was paranoid. I thought it was more isolating than Resident Evil 4.
I think its worth noting Resi 4's influence on third-person shooters in general, most notably on Gears of War.
The scariest game I've played in a long time is undoubtedly Slender, god I wanted to turn it off
Just a correction to the plot summary in the article, the alien ship isn't bent on destroying earth, it is actually protecting earth - and they presumably don't know why
Wonder if they'll ever implement ADS (Aim down sights) into Halo? Never even noticed or thought about it before until a friend brought it up to me, but every modern shooter apart from Halo has ADS, and to him it felt like something was missing
Was ready to bash it, and its still gimmicky, but it does actually look cool and like it adds an element of fun or enjoyability to playing a game. I'd buy that thing before I bought the kinect or the move any day (though as I understand from the article it uses the kinect to work)
I feel like Dust: An Elysian Tale deserves to be a finalist for something, that was a well made game, by one person too. Thirty Flights should win for narrative. FTL for design. I don't have any other opinions on it
