Don't need Madden to know the Patriots are going to win. Any quasi football fan knows this. Besides, Madden would have the Patriots win any game- not just the SB.
@xboxonex: A true native 4K 60 machine? Your just the kind of consumer Microsoft wants- somebody who will believe everything they say, and buy everything they want you to. Its not just Microsoft though.
Fact is, the GPU is essentially in the mid power range of a GTX 1060 or a RX 580- probably closer to the performance of a 580 due to the 8GB of RAM that card has. A couple of years back this kind of power would be found with a GTX 980 or an R9 390X.
I can tell you for a fact, as someone who has owned at least two of the cards I mention above (I now employ multi GPU), that if you think your going to get 4K 60 for anything, but, perhaps, MS in house titles that don't require too much performance (or indy games)- your fooling your self. These cards can barely push 4K 30 with most titles- and to get the 30FPS you'd have too be running medium to medium-high settings (depending on the game) with most effects off or lowered. Anisotropic Filtering, which XB1X supports, does not use a lot of resources, however.
Another, hit would be the CPU, which I'm taking a wait and see approach for. The memory controller they built into it which is supposed to limit many instructions to only a few, will be a feature to make up for the shorts falls of the CPU- which is essentially within the power range of an Intel I3. This feature will undoubtedly be what allows MS to run their in-house games at 4K 60 since they will continue to heavily utilize another of their products with their games- DirectX12- as the API. This box and DX12 were made for each other.
The XB1X is essentially a mid-lo to mid range gaming pc (though, for me to be comfortable calling it mid range I would have liked to have seen a better CPU and more RAM). Though, as a console, it is quite a specimen. Also, while software optimization will also play a role in how well the box performs outside its ranking- do not be fooled by anyone telling you this is a 4K 60 machine though and through- there's no way in hell. MS is full of shyte and they're deliberately going after the technologically ignorant mainstream (not hardcore enthusiasts like they say) with these half truths.
@beowulf1211: ...and you're the ambassador for the Gamespot community? No, you're just just some schmuck who has stolen and sullied the name of a poem created by an ancient and true warrior race, all the while being barely the likes of an internet warrior. If I gave a damn what "people" thought of me, I'd have near as many psychoses as you, "bud." LOL. Go ahead, reply... and see my virtual hand held flat a cm from from your nose saying, "STFU."
@madball: I am surprised too. I had thought Sony was going to take a quick turn and combat the Scorpio with the PS5, that the Neo Project would have eventually or come to light, or shifted resources into becoming the PS5 Project. This would have been the smart path. Sony is always making decisions that screw them (or us) in the long run. I've noticed it for years. I think it inexorably comes down to money (or lack thereof).
@beowulf1211: It is a good price if you can live without the 4K player, but greater the risk for me is the ambiguous nature of what propensity of 4K support this thing is going to receive. That ultimately comes down to the developers, and after experiencing how easily they can disappoint gamer's with tech that can enrich our experiences, most notably and recently as their disappointing support of Multi GPU/utilization of DX12- they have proven to me that just because hardware has potential to be more, does not mean they are going to support it enough to justify your purchase when under the influence of both their lack of motivation, and the financial interests of their parent companies. Too many forces are here that create a risk of getting screwed by purchasing a PS4 Pro. That is my view. Trust me, I don't want to gamble between which system will get developer resources- PS4 or Scorpio. If the money starts flowing for the Scorpio, guess who's going to get the support?
@beowulf1211: Really? I counted a small amount of games with the 4K patch, amid a mixed amount with UHD or higher AA at 1080P- and a greater ton of games that are unconfirmed. I don't spend money for "unconfirmed."
