@eva02langley: That's a gdamn lie. Here's what they said, "At 1080P –a screen resolution most gamers in this segment currently have- it polls above the GTX 970 and is just 13% slower than the once-mighty GTX 980. Meanwhile moving on to 1440P highlights NVIDIA’s weakness at higher resolutions since this card is able to move even further afield of the GTX 970 and nearly catches the GTX 980."

Now how do you equate that with being 10% faster than a GTX 980? Even stock it loses to the 980- OC the 980, and this card looks even worse. For now, OC on the 480 is horrendous- if that changes with the vendor cards..we'll see. But 980 OC's like a beast. A lot of people are able to OC the boost clock on that card to 1500Mhz. Please..read the whole article next time.

@Slyster1181: Hmmm, I'm not sure I comply with that. I game with an R9 380X 4GB on a 2560X1080 widescreen monitor, and I max out nearly every game I throw at it with 4X MSAA, High Texture FIltering, 16X AF, and reasonable tessellation. That includes games like Doom, that I run on Ultra with an FPS in the 70's. You shouldn't be far off from that with a 770. You may want to optimize your settings a little better.

The reason I have the marker so low on the cards before I recommend a purchase- is because anything above #41 can run decent 1080p quality with varying degrees between medium to ultra depending on the card (and game). You see, the goal here when making a GPU purchase is to ensure you are future proofed with the best possible card for the money. I think, depending on the gamer- this might be the RX480, but I think PC Gamers should set higher standards and aim higher- that is why I say pick from 1-10 to be future proofed.

AMD pulled this crap on me a few months ago. Last June, the R9 380 was getting the same manner of advertising as the RX 480 is. It was touted by everyone to be the best performance per dollar card on the market- a solid mid-range or "budget" card that eats everything you throw at it (in 1080p). It was even advertised and benchmarked to run decent frames on games at QHD resos, just like they say about this card. Well, now ONE YEAR later its been usurped by this card. Now, watch, in one year the same thing will happen to the RX480. This card, just like any mid range or, budget card, will not stand the test of time. I say pick from 1-10 because that way you will be ahead of the curve with 7-8 Tflop compute power for at least five years. Again, think future proof. Still, for those whose standards are lower- go ahead and buy the RX 480- you will be in a very good place...for about a year. Of course, if you are gaming on a subpar card, and have a tight budget- this is the best card you can get.

Here is a list of the top 50 cards in order according to spec. Credit goes to Anth0789 from Overcocker.net, who has maintained this list for years. Anyone with a card on the list who is gaming at 1080P that ranks at a GTX 960 2GB and below- get the card. Anyone above that card, who games at 1080P, save your money- or if you really want it, wait for the 3rd party cards. If your card it not on this list- this card is for you. If you want a future proofed card, like me when I next upgrade, aim for the top ten.

I wouldn't call this review biased like everyone else is doing- but it could have pointed out more advantages that the 480 clearly possesses over similar cards, but the results are what I expected. I should have waited a little longer, a few months ago, and forewent buying my R9 380X 4GB Strix. But while this card is clearly better in many areas, it does not warrant replacing my current card (I play on a 2560X1080 widescreen monitor). I feel that I already achieve excellent quality at that resolution. No, if anything, while I had to think about it for a moment- what this launch has convinced me to do instead is to wait for all the "new" cards to come out and allow them to drastically reduce the price of something like, let's say, an R9 Fury or a Fury X. Then, by the time Scorpio launches- nab one of those cards and continue to stay ahead of the console curve. Yes, it sounds petty but if your rig is not staying ahead of the console curve, then, arguably, what's the point? Still, the performance per dollar of the 480 is insane, and I would urge anyone using a GTX 960 2GB or lower, or an R7 series card to strongly consider jumping on it. If I were still using my GTX 650 Ti Boost 2GB, I certainly would. I cannot, however, suggest this card to R9 380 owners who game at 1080p. This card basically puts you within 0.2 Tflops of a Scorpio for $ 240.00...a steal.

@almatha: Actually, as someone who works out, I've use this app occasionally and the workouts it uses are top notch. You feel the burn, you sweat, all while unlocking achievements to add to your gamerscore. It is/was also one of the best uses of the Kinnect.

@Gunmaster51: While I agree with what you say, America, MY country, is a little, shall we say-sensitive to things that imply terrorism. You see, watching a commercial airliner crash into a landmark high rise can do that to a society. Nothing is black and white. If religion throughout history has always utilized different meanings for things, and it has- generally to the whim of those at the top of the power structure for purposes of control (*see byzantium empire, missionary monks, 1st Christian Kings of the West, history of the Vatican) then there is no greater manifesto of confusion than that which spews from the Quran...as is evidenced by thousands of years of warfare in one centralized region by its followers. American media is full of propaganda and ignorance, but the intellectual filters information and thinks for him/herself.

Oh, Boy! Another Gamespot racist rant, flamebait. Let the bodies hit the floor! And I thought Sony sold the PS4 "god is great" edition in the Middle East.

@mhfon You forgot to put a "?" at the end of your "question." Sheesh!
