[QUOTE="Elann2008"]If you ever tried playing Crysis, you would know that it is CPU and GPU dependent. They go hand-in-hand.Spybot_9

True. I remember a user who has an E6400 and hd4850, he got 31 fps on high at 1280x1024. I have an E6850 + hd4850 and I get 41 fps at the same resolution.

I am sure you dont know his criteria of judging his FPS and "exactly" what settings are been talked about.

Actually I do. Link.

My results:

Specs: E6850 at 3.0 Ghz, 2 GB of ram, ga-p35-ds3r, hd4850

A 4850 or 4870 running at 78C or more at idle (with a blower, in the 4870's case) the whole time I have my computer on would cook my room, and I'd be having quite an unpleasant time.

Heatsinks only contain so much heat, especially when you're around 80C constantly.

JP_Russell

Room temperature: 27C
Case: Antec 300, 4 fans (top 140 mm at low speed, rear: Artic Cooling 1500 RPM, front: Scythe 1200 RPM + Yate Loon 1350 RPM). I haven't installed a 5th fan on the side yet and i don't think i'll need to.

At 40% fan speed, I don't hear my hd4850 over my case fans. I start hearing it at 50% speed.

I have no hatred for ATI. I just have Hatred for people who don't know what they are talking about, as well as coming into a topic and ruining it.

lawrencexx_873

You hate people who can prove you wrong. Grow up.

but 9800GTX+ is better than the 4850.. Except at higher resolutions http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-9800-gtx-512mb-plus-review/6

lawrencexx_873

No it's not. When the 9800gtx+ wins, the margin is very small. And when the 4850 wins, the margin is higher.

You have a pathological hatred for ATI because you had problems with one Ati card. Go seek help...

Sure ill give you some links. There are ALOT of people saying the same thing, artifacting with 4800 series when playing a demanding game for a while. Also where is my link showing the drivers are messed up and have underclocked the fan and that AMD is fixing this problem? or was that made up?

1- Defective card
2- His card's temp is at 65C under load, can't be overheating...
3- Poor lighting effects in the game, doesn't look like the effects of overheating at all.

And i never said anything about the drivers underclocking the fan, or did you make that up ?

You don't have the hd4850.

You're not using 8.7.

And you're saying 8.7 doesn't work well with hd4800. And your proof is a link to the drivers...

Lol *clap* *clap*

And sorry to burst your bubble, but hd4850 > 9800gtx > 8800gt = 9800gt

as you scroll down, you'll see the 8.7 Catalyst Drivers...

lawrencexx_873

And how exactly does that prove it doesn't work well with hd48xx ?

[QUOTE="matrixian"]

[QUOTE="lawrencexx_873"] Their 8.7 released Catalyst Drivers don't even work well with the 4000 series HD. lawrencexx_873

And how would you know this ?

http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx

go and find out for yourself.. be warned, you'll need a ATI 4000 HD series card.

What does that link have to do with 8.7 ? That hotfix was released weeks ago, before 8.7...
