i'm kinda currently waiting for diablo 3 to come out, and a few other pc games that i might want to get. Legitplaya

That's another reason to get the hd4850 over the 8800gt. I heard that Ati signed with Blizzard for dx 10.1 support in Diablo 3. Too bad you weren't shopping for parts last week, Ncix had the hd4850 on sale for 150$. This week it's at 170$, still a good price for the performance.

is Ncix a good site to buy parts from for Canadians?

any other input or suggestions would be great, thanks!!!Legitplaya

Yes Ncix is good, and so is DirectCanada.com. They're the same company but have different prices. Direct Canada offers free ground shipping when you buy for more than 300$. You can buy parts from both stores for your new pc. Compare the prices from both stores. At Ncix you can price match better prices from other stores, including Direct Canada. I do it every time I shop at Ncix and all my price matches have been accepted.

Idk on the PSU but it needs to be under $100 and i will go up to $200 on the 4850xxNYXZxx

I was asking those questions to the TC. But to answer your question, I would get a Corsair power supply, model 550VX 550W or 650TX 650W. You can look for those on newegg.

That fan is too expensive, I would get this fan instead. Lower RPM but a little higher CFM.

I got the same case for 39$, you won't be disappointed for the price. It's soon to be replaced though, not because i don't like it, but because i felt like buying new hardware.

If your budget allows for a Raptor and a full tower case, then you should invest in an X48 motherboard for max Crossfire performance.

I have changed my case choice to this It is slightly cheaper and a little bigger. Or is the first choice the best?

Also will all the cables needed come with the parts? Or will i need any seperate ones? mark_c_128

That Coolermaster case is fine, I like it more than the Antec 900. Yes all the cables come with the parts.

Everything looks good. But fyi, Crossfire runs better on a X48 motherboard with x16/x16 bandwidth on the 2 pci-e slots. With P45 it's x8/x8. A single card will always run at x16. And CF HD4870 would require a power supply with 4 pci-e connectors, yours has 2. And you can have ddr2 on X38/X48, not just ddr3. Anyway, imo a single card setup is better for lower power consumption and less noise. Bottom line, P45 + a single HD4870 = excellent.

No reason to get P35 when P45 is out. Future cards might use the higher bandwidth provided by pci-e 2.0.

Okay so without beating around the bush, the HD 4850 and 9800GTX will run Crysis at a steady 40FPS on high, in DX10 at 1366x768 resolution?

A simple yes or no, none of that well maybe on medium or at 1024x720 blah blah bs!

CB4McGusto

No, your best bet is to go with the 9800GTX+ and overclock it.

Looks good. P45 x8/x8 isn't as good as X48 x16/x16 for Crossfire but still better than P35 x16/x4, or so i've heard.

You can save some money by getting the Corsair 650TX power supply, which is enough to power your system with two hd4850s.

And stick with the Asus hd4850, i don't think the extra 512 MB is worth it.
