I do own one..i just don't like it cause there's nothign to play on it except blueray. I bought it at launch with hopes of heavenly sword in march, and exclusive dmc4.

Granted, I haven't stepped over to the Wii/Xbox360 boards but I wonder if they have so many desperate fanboys coming in to start problems. Must be a jealousy thing.

I, having stepped foot in System Wars once, have seen how horrific the Sony bashing can get outside of here. :D 

My ps3 is kinda noisy. On start up the fans whir for a second and then go quiet. After about 10 minutes of silence the fans start to kick in. I can hear it from 8 feet away when volume is low and when bluray movies are quiet etc. It not a rattle or anything but its definitely noticable. The real problem is is that when i go to the xmb it doesnt seem to slow down the fans at all they just keep going and going. I dont have a 360 so i cant compare it to that but it is quite annoying. I keep hearing people talk about their "silent" ps3's and mine just isnt. ITs a US ps3 sitting horizontal with nothing in front or back. It has a good 6 inches to the right and is flushed left in my entertainment console. Is it just not getting enough air possibly?? I've heard of some problems before with some people and i just dont know if mine is acting normal or not. Any help would be great. treebark_basic

If your unit is still new, you can always try returning it and getting a new one. Mine is almost completely silent (I had to put my head to it a couple of times to see if it was whirring) but it is in a completely open shelf. Nothing to the sides or in front or back of it.

Funny how you say the games are so great and the online environment is so great for a certain system, and yet, you still find the urge to come here and nag at us.

I'd rather fall back on a game that proved it's amazing and shipped as opposed to placing in hope for games no one has seen, killzone2. Master__Shake

You ought to fallback and play that game right now. What are you doing on a PS3 board anyway?

Either you're insanely jealous of the posters here that do own one (which would make you very sad) or you're here to cause trouble (which would get you modded).

If the HDD is the only difference, then yes, that's fine. (I actually have to upgrade mine soon anyway. I have no idea how I've already filled my HD with 40 gigs worth of stuff!!)

But I'm guessing that won't be the only change. Sony has promised to keep the bulk of the core materials the same (Cell, BluRay, networking capabilities, etc...) so hopefully the changes that are proposed will just be limited to the HDD, internal changes to lower manufacturing costs, and whatever that Bluetooth antenna is.

(Rumor had it that the Bluetooth antenna was rearranged in order to eliminate the connection issues that some consumers have reported with their SixAxis controllers)
