[QUOTE="Kwazy1981"]Timesplitters had a cool map editorjustforlotr2004
I liked AoE 2's map editor, was fun to make your own maps with it and the triggers allowed you to create a lot of cool actions. Defiantly one of the main games that got me into game development and why Im going to college for it atm.
You should try Wc3 World Editor if you haven't. People have made fps games (however it's nothing compared to a normal fps 3d engine).
Hardware fixes are not new sku's. There is really no reason to wait except until hdmi is added to the premiums. If your xbox 360 does break, then you do have to take a break but at the same time, you are already waiting right now. Microsoft is hopefully not stupid enough to send you a old cpu because not only is the risk the same, but the old CPUs have more manufacturing cost.
I don't see a new SKU (besides special editions) coming out anytime soon because they really don't have a lesser sku then sony atm. The hard-drive is bigger. They already stated that they don't want to add wifi. Hdmi 1.3 is of no use to 99% of gamers (rough made up guess but probably an underestimate). They won't add a hddvd player built in because they already have the external and its not worth the risk of becoming a useless format. I can't see them adding a bluray until hddvd is dead and its the xbox 720 (they wouldn't want to alienate the hd dvd external buyers.
Overall, waiting for the next best thing, especially in this case is useless and a waste of time. Don't word it like they are screwing their old customers (As long as Microsoft does the smart thing and updates broken 360's with the latest). I'm not sure if they would add hdmi to broken 360's however.
[QUOTE="lordxymor"]Of course they didn't cut content to fit. Why would they create more content than the disc size. They design game from the start with 9GB limit in mind, they don't start developing stuff to cut it off later.Thats how I read it too.

Hmm, I read it in english, and from my interpretation of the english language, it meant "DVD size is absolutely not a factor that we consider when designing our games... and PGR4 is no exception. DVD9 gives us more than we need to create a fabulous experience for you guys." Sure he may be saying that but it is what was written. Please inform me however, the way that you chose to read this response.
not every game has to look like a pokemon warliquidus1snake
I find that ironic considering the first 3 pokemon games were strickly one color.
I considered the PS3 because it would be nice to have a bluray player however, I think that when buying a gaming system, games become the ultimate priority and everything else is just a bonus. Of course, since the ps3 doesn't have a large quality lineup yet. Those non gaming features must get a lot of us :)
