@bdrtfm: Haha. The guy got pissed off with you because he thought you meant a different age? What?? That's excellent!
People are definitely looking for stuff to get pissed off about nowadays. You do almost need to append every statement with "I apologise to anyone to whom I've caused offence". It's pretty pathetic. I'm of a certain age too - *cough*50*cough* and it makes me laugh to see how easily offended people are. Wait 'til you get out in the real world kids - you'll love it!!
I apologise to anyone to whom I've caused offence. Obviously.
@G-Corleone: That's right. A lot of the time they add bits with only limited value, and then raise the price a lot more than you would expect.
I mean, the Elite is about £100. If I bought one and added a customisable button and a swanky, shiny sheet of black aluminium and charged £200, that doesn't make it that great value. Those things should cost about an extra £30 or £40 more - not an extra £100.
As you said, for a pc this would have more value, but for an xbox or a PS4, where on many games you can't even remap the default buttons and triggers, not so much.
But, some people will pay the money and will love it...and good luck to them.
@ballashotcaller: well, yeh, that's very true. I mean, I paid £250 for a Playseat racing seat, then another £250 for a forcefeedback wheel to hook up to my xbox. If I played a lot of online FPS or MMO's I'd probably think about this .
Having said that, and I do agree with you to an extent, $200 is a fuckload of money to spend on one controller especially when the Elite does most of what this one does for half the money...
Fair enough but, still....toys?? I love ED so would naturally have an interest in Starlink, but I just can't. I'm not gonna buy a game that uses toys. I'm simply too old.
