@simonthekid7: We could be living in a nuclear-powered energy utopia by now if we'd just invested in it, and not been scared off of it by both big oil and uninformed activists who lump it in with the “dirty” fuels. In the long run it's much cleaner than wind or solar. Relatively speaking nuclear is like a miracle cure to the energy problem.

But, disinformation successfully scared people, so, we have to go another direction.

@Barighm: OK, I shouldn't have said “from the start”.
But it became apparent not long into production.
Cameron himself said as much.

@agent_stroud: He's got plenty of money,
he's producing free content,
and that content has been proving extremely popular.
He's a generally very happy and chill guy who never has a word to say against anyone.

I'd say there's a bigger problem with you than with him.

@Dilandau88: You already know the answer to that.
The last one made money.
That's about the extent of the financial equation these companies do.

This is pretty much what I was expecting.
From the start there was too much money pouring into this to realistically turn a profit,
and everyone working on it knew that.

It's hard to care about a project you're working on,
if you know from the start it's going to be a flop.

It's like asking the crew of your ship to polish the entire deck to perfect mirror shine,
when they all know the ship is set to be dismantled and destroyed when they arrive at their destination.

This isn't a breakthrough. I don't care what they call it.
They've been making incremental improvements to the output-vs.-input energy of these reactors for over a decade.

It used to suck way more enegy than it generated.
Then gradually gradually it approached energy neutral.
Now it's just crept over the line into energy positive.

This is cool, and good, but not unexpected or surprising.
There was no great leap anywhere here.
There's no revolutionary new technology implemented here to achieve this.
It's still a long, long way from producing enough energy to be worth hooking to the grid.
This is noteworthy. But not hype-worthy.

All this means is that they took some dirty money from a RAM manufacturer.

whereasWonder Woman 1984 took Google's top spot for, “Princess Diana car crash.”
