@daidochus: Spoken like someone who's never successfully learned anything useful from someone else. There's always that one snarky, insecure kid who needs to prove how smart and/or world-wise he is with a public comment.
@sparent180: Just basing it on other people's YouTube videos. But one guy spent 15 minutes breaking down how the combat works because he wanted everyone to understand just why and how bad it is.
@ember_to_flame: No the real reason the score is so low is because the combat is absolutely god awful. Even though all three of the negatives listed are actually to do with combat, the way they're worded doesn't do it justice. It's really really bad.
This confirms my fears from some of the early videos. Clunky combat, every NPC just whining or bitching all the time, main character a handsome white soldier-looking guy in his 30s/40s with shaved head, a beard, a frown, and no personality.
Dead Space knew that in completely brutal circumstances like theirs, you have to have a bit of heart, a bit of charm. You needed to feel something for the characters trapped there, you needed something to care about; moments with a change of pace or feeling.
This game seems like it overlooked that, and as a consequence, never established an identity, and everything suffers as a result.
@crazknuk: You shouldn't lump the Lord of the Rings films with the Hobbit films. There was nearly 10 years between the last LOTR film and the first Hobbit one.
