There's just no chance this guy isn't a criminal in like a hundred different ways.
Just like there's no chance he'll ever face more than a slap on the wrist.

The article has been updated.
Now it says CAPCOM is reversing course and giving players the option.
A win for consumers and for common sense.

Yeah, this is a big deal.
I like really, really smooth framerates when I play,
so I'll often drop the settings way down so minimum FPS is always above 120.
I can't do that any more which means I can't play the game the way I want any more.
Which means they've effectively stolen back the experience I already paid for.

Just want to say something about all the people on here
who would so obviously have taken a million dollars, never mind a billion,
from Hitler himself, if it just meant ratting out a few hiding Jews.
How do I know this?
Well because their logic goes a little something like this:
“We can't avoid benefitting from all evil even indirectly,
so therefore, any deal you make with evil, is fair game.”
Look at the truly enormous number of Germans who supported Hitler,
and it's not far-fetched to suggest these people would've done the same.

It's is the kind of intentionally low-resolution thinking
adopted by immoral people to justify doing whatever's expedient.
Weakness of character. Willful blindness.

They're not stupid. There's plenty more depth available
for analysing an offer like this, if you actually want to see it.
There's plenty more factors to consider.

For example, the same Saudi regime that murdered a Washington Post journalist in cold blood and cut him into a hundred bloody pieces, recently offered American golfer Phil Mickelson a fifth of a billion dollars, just to appear in the Saudi League, as opposed to the PGA Tour. Despite previously describing the Saudi regime as “scary mother fuckers who have a horrible record on human rights”, Mickelson promptly changed his tune saying the Saudi's had “offered him an opportunity” for more “balance” in his life.

That means that we can categorically say, that to the evil Saudi regime,
Mickelson's mere presence was worth $200,000,000, because they made the offer.
It means they deem not enough westerners are accepting of their evil.
That price, proves they feel they need more westerners to turn a blind eye to their evil.
It means
Phil Mickelson has done $200,000,000 worth of damage to the cause of the Saudi people.
You can say the same thing of Eileen Gu and the CCP, although we don't know her number.

If anyone compares that to owning a smartphone,
then that person is dishonest, and should not be trusted.
Their morality is up for sale, and they'll sell you out when the right offer presents itself.
Judas did essentially the same thing in the bible.

Another factor you can consider is, does this person need the money?
I would be more understanding of someone in need committing a crime.
The CEO of Embracer Group?
Uh, no. That's greed, not need.
He's a billionaire with or without a billion blood-soaked Saudi dollars.

Don't let the weak talk you out of your morality.
Do what your gut tells you is right and you can't go too far wrong.

@stickemup: But also not everything a person does is something they “have to” do.

Not that anyone asked, but off the top of my head I liked...
007: GoldenEye, Age of Mythology, Command and Conquer (various), Deus Ex, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Far Cry 3, Final Fantasy (various), Hitman: Codename 47, Hotline Miami, Hotline Miami 2, Little Big Adventure 2, Mirror's Edge, Pokémon Red/Blue, Pool Nation, Rayman 2: The Great Escape, Silent Hill, Sleeping Dogs, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines.

Can't remember if all of those were originals, but great nonetheless.

The first game released on PC not long ago,
was a total rip-off.
Like, insultingly bad and lazy for the price.
No doubt this one will be at least as bad.

Those guys at Raven deserve a union.
They've been slaving away in the Call of Duty mines for long enough.
