@RandyAU93 @outlawoftorn yeah thats true but they certainly misled people by saying something at E3 like "to kick things off i am pleased to announced 2 of the titles.." not only us but quite a few game sites started reporting that they will be free in july.
@RandyAU93 @XspidervenomX well to be fair you always need to mention what a competitor is doing with their product since it provides a scale with which to assess an offering. unfortunately MS does not stack up well at all against the competition when it comes to giving away something to their subscribers.
as if the bar was not already low with them announcing super ancient titles like halo 3 and AC 2 as free. they go ahead and instead offer 1 arcade game for free. i thought we were supposed to get AC2 and Halo 3 in July? they arent even ready to give those?
are they outright lying now and just making false promises?
@paddy100 well they could easily have still implemented those benefits if they really wanted to. those benefits were presented as so convoluted in the first place that we did not even know what they were telling us. it was a communications disaster on their part and looked like they had not done any research into how gamers behave.
@m4a5 @oddvintagechap @epicgameresearc last generation you had the PS3 with better hardware but it was very hard to develop for. the 360 was very easy for developers and hence excelled. this generation, ps4 seems to have the edge in both hardware and development efficiency. so we might see a different kind of battle.
in my opinion it will probably be core-gaming (ps4) vs integrated entertainment (xbox with kinect, tv etc)
@m4a5 @epicgameresearc but right now we do not even know what benefits the cloud will, for all practical purposes, provide. there are just theoretical arguments and if there was anything substantial the cloud had to offer then MS would have demonstrated that at E3.
