@dlCHIEF58: I really liked playing Texas Hold 'Em, so i'll definitely be revisiting it on my Xbox One. I sometimes play a game called The Four Kings Casino & Slots on PC (available on Steam) but it's loaded with annoying microtransactions & it's just not as fun.
@Attitude2000: Bundling it with the latest Call of Duty special edition is obviously a way to incentivise people to spend more & get it this year. There will be far too much interest in the game for Activision to simply lock it away under a special edition forever, unless of course they suddenly decide they don't like money anymore :) I could be wrong though, time will tell.
Looking forward to playing this when it finally becomes available as a standalone product (it will next year). I've not bought or played a Call of Duty game since the original Black Ops, so i'll be more than in the mood to play my favourite in the series again come next year.
@uchihasilver: Yeah most get handed off to port studios. The best example i can think of right now is Bluepoint Games & their work with the Uncharted Trilogy. I appreciate a new & great game as much as anyone else, but like you i really enjoy replaying my favourites.
@uchihasilver: Isn't nice to have the choice though & not be forced to buy an updated version? I already have ODST through the MCC, but that doesn't mean that everyone is in the same position, especially those who are yet to buy a current gen console. There's a lot of complaining going around about HD remasters & the like (personally i like them), so this caters towards people that don't see the value proposition in buying superior versions.
@pinkfloyd6789: I think it's fair to say that each console has its own merits, and the choice of which console to buy isn't quite so obvious as a lot of people seem to think. PS4 is clearly doing the best, and probably rightly so since they've done such a good job from launch, but the Xbox One is hardly doing terribly as a result. Even assuming the 2:1 sales in favour of PS4 is accurate, that's still a lot of consoles sold.
@Zzshock: Sounds like you're explaining the good old days :) Things are easier now, much easier. An Xbox 360/One pad works with just about any game over the last ten years with controller support, & Steam chat, or even Skype chat work perfectly. No need for the large groups & rooms services, at least i assume not if you're comfortable with console chat services. Updates & drivers basically handle themselves too...I mean they're basically childproof these days.
All that aside, i completely agree that it's all nonsense if you don't have the motivation for it anymore. I also own an X1 for the convenience and comfort, and it's nice just to press the Xbox button on the pad & go. Perhaps my thinking might align with yours in another five years, who knows.
@starjay009: I understand where you're coming from, but think how many people don't have the means & know-how to play games on PC. There's definitely an argument to make that owning an X1 with a PC is a little redundant (though it works great for my taste), but i imagine that at least half of the current X1 owners/users don't have the option to even consider PC as a real choice to play on. Since this is likely the case, is it really a bad & evil thing for MS to want to cash in on some PC software? Afterall, it's the big money maker, or at least it should be if it's handled right...Which it currently isn't with the dodgy MS store lol.
@boaconstricta: VR takes over...Are you on crack? :D It's a very expensive investment, and assuming everyone will enjoy it is a big assumption to make. Personally, i'm a lot more interested in AR. Whether it really stems from MS or not, i prefer the idea of being able to see & hear while i interact with media. It's all academic though, both technologies are years away from being affordable enough & portable enough for the mass market to care too much about. When AR can be done with a standard-sized pair of glasses, it'll be a revolution...Assuming nothing else amazing comes from the same field in the mean time.
