Snow Day + Answers to your questions

Woohoo my college is closed today due to the huge ice and snow storm :D Its really pretty outside now but Im so glad I dont have to drive in it :P

Time to answer the questions from my last blog!

From lightwarrior179 - which game would you like to make a cameo in and what would be your role in that game?

Start me out with a extremely tough but totally awesome question huh? :P  It would probably have to be one of the FFVII games... Like no one saw that one coming  The world in FFVII is just so interesting imo. I would have to have mako in my system, glowy blue eyes FTW :D Plus the superhuman abilities would be awesome :D Being in SOLDIER or an ex-SOLDIER sounds cool to me. Or maybe FFXII and be a sky pirate... hmmm well the cameo would have to be in a FF game and my role would have to be one where I knew how to kick some butt

From dark_massenger - Have you tried any Tales games yet? If you havent you should check out Tales of the Abyss.

I have only played one Tales game and that was Tales of Eternia. Though actually I have not finished it...need to get around to playing it again. Its a really good game. I do want to try Tales of the Abyss. Not right now though, maybe get it as a birthday gift this year. I just have too many games to play at the moment and I have to save money for Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume and Dissidia... among others

From Soul_Of_Snake - will you be playing FFIX at any date? Better than a lot of people make it out to be.

Yep! I have FFIX waiting for me in my "to play" pile. I played a few hours but havent gotten into it yet because I want to finish FFVIII first. I thought it would be crazy to try to play both at once :D

Thats it! Time to go play some games and finish a certain someone's b-day gift  with my unexpected day off... oh and some of that pesky stuff they call homework

Bow before the mighty Amaterasu! + Ask me questions

Finally beat Okami and I freaking loved the game! Beautiful looking game with fun and unique gameplay. Plus its just too awesome to play as a god in the form of a wolf :D I was so happy to beat it, but at the same time I was sad it was over. Ill probably play a second run through at a later day, definitely when I dont have so many other game to play  Anyone else other than me think a spin-off/sequel would work really well on the DS? *shrugs*

Hmmm lets see what else... Oh yes! I was about to throw FFIV out the window yesterday :P I dont know why Im having problems but Im stuck on Leviathan. He beats the snot out of me. Im around level 45-50 for all of my characters. I just want to get past the thing so I can continue

Ive been trying to get the Tonberry GF in FFVIII but Im having problems there too  Maybe I just need to step away from them for a day then try again. It always seems the more you want it, the less likely youll get past a part that is annoying you :)

Heres a cool FFVII video I found on youtube, one of my favorites, expressing the war in Cloud's head between who he is and his memories of Zack: In Cloud's Head

And for anyone who doesnt like FFVII, heres a sweet FFX one I found: Behind these Hazel eyes and a nice KH one The Five of Us

Sorry if none of them interest you, maybe next time :)

Well thats all for now. Since I havent done this for awhile, you guys can ask me any question(s) and Ill answer them in my next blog!

Marluxia drawing + Gaming update

*waves happily to everyone*

I finished a new drawing. It was suppose to be a group drawing of Marluxia, Axel and Zexion. But once again I tend to draw too big  I started Marluxia and didnt want to try to fix it to make it smaller. So Axel and Zexion will have to be later :)

Still playing FFVIII and loving every minute. Im getting close to the end of disc 2. I just
beat Raijin and Fujin in Balamb. Gonna head to Trabia Garden now.
Hopefully Ill have time to play more in the next couple of days.

Been playing Okami as well, and will be able to finish it soon I think. I'm in Kamui and have only one brush technique left to learn. I love this game :D

I picked up Star Ocean Second Evolution yesterday. Decided to play as Rena because I want to get Dias in the group. The layout is the same as First Departure so finding my way around the menus and such is faster than when I played the other game. I havent gotten very far at all so not much to say about it yet.

Also picked up Luminous Arc 2. I hadnt planned on getting it any time soon but I got it for half price - I love sales  The interface is much better than the first game and the touch screen controls not only work but work very well! To me, it makes the srpg gameplay go faster, which is important to me because I get bored with srpgs quite easily :P Again, I havent played too much yet so I cant give much imput on it at the moment.

Other than that I have been busy with college, homework and trying not to freeze in the extremely cold weather

P.S. Changed my header image in my blog... ACC FTW! :D

The upcoming PSP games Im looking forward to

With my top 10 list done, its time to look to the future! And for the first game we dont have to go very far

In only a day or so, Star Ocean: Second Evolution will be hitting shelves. I have heard it has a great story and is labeled as the best in the series. I loved the first one so I cant wait to get my hands on it.

My most anticipated game of the year is of course Dissidia: Final Fantasy. I want this game so bad, just as excited as I was waiting for Crisis Core :P All of the main heroes and villains from the Final Fantasy games crammed into one game with a huge story mode and unique gameplay...whats not to love? :P

Well those are the ones with release dates... but Im keeping my eye on Patapon 2, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, and Final Fantasy Agito XIII

Thats all for now, See ya!

My Top 10 PSP games - #1 to 3

Time to finish off my list! Let's recap first:

10. Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
9. Tales of Eternia
8. Brave Story New Traveler
7. Monster Kingdom Jewel Summoner
6. Daxter
5. God of War: Chains of Olympus
4. Patapon

And now for the top 3!

3. Star Ocean First Departure - My first Star Ocean game. You start on the primitive planet of Roak, where the citizens have suddenly become ill with a disease that is turning them to stone. Roddick and friends are trying to find a cure when they accidentally meet two people from Earth. They believe they can find a cure to the disease in the past. Roddick and crew travel to earth to gain permission to use the device to travel back through time. And that's where the adventure begins :D The battles are played out on 3D fields with 2D sprites. The gameplay is similar to Tales games. I thought the voice acting was wonderful and I really enjoyed the story and characters. The private actions you can do in the towns were great; many very hilarious to watch and they added much to the characters personality and thoughts. It may have gotten many mixed reviews by others but this game gets a giant gold star in my book :P

2. Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth - I don't know how many times I picked this game up at the store and every time I wouldn't get it. There was something that had me worried that I wouldn't enjoy it. When I finally purchased it I couldn't have been happier that I did and could kick myself for almost missing out on such an awesome game. The main character, Lenneth, is a Valkyrie who serves Odin, the ruler of the heavens. Asgard, the realm of the gods, is at war. Lenneth's job it to travel to Midgar, the realm of the mortals, and collect souls to serve in the army in Asgard. There are a lot of characters you meet. Some you will keep throughout the whole story and some I barely played before sending them to Asgard. I like that no combination of characters were stronger than others, I picked the ones I liked the most and kept them with me then trained the rest before sending them to Asgard. I love the gameplay. With each character set up to a certain button you could decide who went first and your combination could break the enemy's defense or allow you to use your special attacks.

1. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII - like this wasn't obvious  This game is a prequel to FFVII. You play as Zack Fair, best friend of Cloud Strife. The story starts with him as a SOLDIER 2nd. Genesis, a SOLDIER 1st has gone MIA and Zack is sent to Wutai. It is there that the story sweeps into loss, mystery, and betrayal which leads to the inevitable ending that anyone who has played FFVII would know was coming. There isn't a single thing I dislike about this game. I aient kidding, even the 300 side missions were enjoyable for me. The characters I just love, you get to learn more about Zack, who was important to the story of FFVII. Genesis was a great character as well. Also it was awesome to see how different Sephiroth was before the Nibelhiem incident. It makes me love the character even more. The story was fantastic, I may have known the ending but that didn't make the story any less engaging. Oh, speaking of the ending: Best video game ending EVER imo. The gameplay was fun, the real time action was good for this game since you play only as one character. Voice acting, CGI cutscenes and graphics were amazing, definitely the best on the PSP. I could continue, but I think I've rambled on enough about why this game is at the top of my list :D :P

And yet another top 10 list bites the dust :P Next blog will be the upcoming PSP games that I am looking forward to!

The famous Sephiroth scene!

Its another Sephy drawing! But this time I tried my hardest to make him evil looking :P I loved my last one but I really needed to try one after he goes crazy :D What better reference to use than the famous "Sephiroth in flames" scene?

But whats the scene without the flames right? So I found the flames for the background. The flames are the CGI ones seen behind Sephy in AC. Which means I did NOT make the background, credit to SE! Heres it is!

Of course the whole thing would have been better in color but I havent practiced much to mess with more than the eyes at the moment... and I like pencil :D

Not sure what Ill do next... I do have an idea for an Axel/Marluxia/Zexion drawing...or just Axel by himself...*shrug* oh and a Squall/Rinoa request to do at some point  Next blog I will finish my PSP games list with the top 3 games!

My Top 10 PSP games - # 4 to 6

Next part of the list is here :D Lets recap:

10. Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
9. Tales of Eternia
8. Brave Story New Traveler
7. Monster Kingdom Jewel Summoner

and now #4 to 6!

6. Daxter - This game was hilarious. It takes place between the first and second Jak and Daxter games. You play as Daxter and he is on a mission to free Jak from prison. I had not played any of the other Jak games before getting this and I didn't have any problems getting into the game. The mini games, which are dreams he has while he sleeps, were really funny.

5. God of War: Chains of Olympus - my first God of War game actually :P This game takes place before the first one so what better place to start right? The story is a little "meh" but it's a hack and slash and it delivers. An all around great game. The controls work wonderfully on the PSP. The boss battles are insanely fun, my absolute favorite being the whole basilisk sequence. I would have liked it to be a bit longer, but it has a lot of replay value so it's ok. The PSP needs more action games like this. (insert shameless request)*cough*DevilMayCryplease*cough* :P :D

4. Patapon - Not many games can both make me want to chuck it out the window and keep me playing  It is so addicting and just plain fun, but it can be frustratingly annoying at times. There are a lot of strategy needed and you have to be on your toes to stay one step ahead. You take the role of the mighty patapon god who, through the use of drums, commands the patapons. The patapons are at war and trying to find earth's end. It is your job to lead the tribe to victory. There is a lot of customization in the game including different types of patapon to create, weapons to forge, treasure to collect and the decision of which patapon to take into battle. Oh and the music gets stuck in your head long after you play... pata pata pata pon

Ok thats it for now, next blog will be probably be my latest drawing which should be done by then, and after that my top 3 PSP games!

My Top 10 PSP games - # 7 to 10

Uggh it was so hard to make this list, much harder than the DS games. The top 3 were set in stone for me but it was all of the others that I couldnt decide on. Some of them I havent even finished yet which makes it difficult....

But anywho, heres 7 through 10:

10. Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions – Never played the original on the PS1. This game has a great story and characters. It takes place in Ivalice following the nation's defeat in the Fifty Years' War. I'm just not a fan of srpgs. It is best one I have played though. I love the sprites and I'm glad they didn't try to upgrade the graphics into 3D. The cell shaded cutscenes are wonderful .

9. Tales Of Eternia – My first imported game :P I heard it was good and was in serious need of a jrpg at the time  It is a shame it never came to the states, but anyone who is willing to import can get the UK version. Eternia has 2 planets, Inferia and Celestia, that are separated by a barrier. As the barrier starts to fade, Reid and his childhood friend are swept into an adventure to stop the two planets from colliding with each other. The gameplay is real time with commands set to different buttons, basically the typical Tales gameplay. Battles play out in a 2D side scrolling manner with a world map for navigation. I had fun playing it and suggest it to anyone who is looking for a good jrpg for their PSP and I'm sure Tales fans would find the game enjoyable.

8. Brave Story New Traveler – A very nice turn based rpg. The game starts with your character being too interested in playing his game to pay attention to his best friend. When he realizes she is missing, he searches to find her unconscious from some unknown illness. A voice tells him that he can make her better by stepping through the portal, which he of course does. He enters the world of Vision where he must partake in quests to obtain the proof that he is worthy to meet with the Goddess of Destiny, who should be able to tell him how to cure his friend. The characters and story are entertaining though annoying at times. Also, I found this game to be a bit on the easy side. Overall though, a very solid rpg and fun game.

7. Monster Kingdom Jewel Summoner – Every wonder what pokemon would be like with a more mature story, characters, and world? That's what you get from this game by Atlus. You play as Vice, a monster hunter, who is tracking down the Abomination that killed his mother. But the story expands and grows as Vice learns what is going on with the monsters and Abominations in the world. The monsters are awesome and can evolve and learn abilities. It has great customization that requires time but is not difficult to learn. The characters actually have back stories, personalities, goals, and must face important decisions on their journey.

Ok thats all for now. Ill do #4 to 6 in my next blog! :)

Final Fantasy VIII

 *blinks a few times*

I'm shocked at how totally awesome FFVIII is so far. Of course I expected to like the game, I haven't met a FF game yet that I didn't enjoy to some degree :P With the mixed reviews I wasn't looking for much, some nice characters, decent story and such was good enough for me. But so far it has exceeded my expectations. If the game continues being so good it could actually contend for the number 2 spot of my favorite final fantasy games (nothing can beat FFVII imo :P )

SPOILER!! (cause the stupid spoiler tag isnt freaking working *kicks GS*)

I'm now on the second disc, I just freed Squall from the prison ... Bad Seifer for torturing Squall! :( ...and Irvine is holding the guards off while I head to the top to escape. Btw the whole attempt to assassinate Edea was awesome. When the first disc ended I immediately stuck in the second disc to see what happened next… even though it was way late at night :P

END SPOILER

After finishing Kingdom Hearts the other day, I'm pretty much only playing FFVIII at the moment :D I'll talk more about it once I get further along... homework is calling me :(

My first drawing of the new year!

:D Started this drawing yesterday and finished it a few minutes ago. My first drawing in 2009 :P It's Lelouch from the anime Code Geass.

I cant believe that my sudden impulse to draw Dante after playing DMC4 ended up with 41 drawings done in 2008  That's insane! I drew more last year than all the other years of my life combined  Thank you so much to everyone for taking your time to look at them! I especially want to thank everyone who requested a character for me to draw! Keep them coming! :D

I hope to continue to draw this year, though probably not so many due to the fact that I am going back to college tomorrow. Wish me luck! I'm so nervous, you'd think I hadnt already done this once before  It feels different though after graduating and going back again :P
