YAY I finished a game! *glances to the pile* ...one down, way too many to go :lol:

I know that Star Ocean: First Departure is labeled as an 'average' RPG, but I really enjoyed it. The character's were interesting and the voice acting was great. Roddick was the typical hero who wanted to be greater than he was, protecting what he believed in. I kind of felt sorry for Dorne, he clearly likes Millie but always manages to put his foot in his mouth whenever she is around :lol: I enjoyed Ioshua's side story very much with his sister Erys. I wish some of the other's had a bit more fleshed out backgrounds. Like I would have loved to know more about T'Nique.

I thought the story was entertaining. Of course there isnt many scifi/space rpgs that I have played (or liked). So that gave it a big bump for just being different and the fact that I love scifi :) Sure it had some slow points but overall I found it enjoyable.

Gameplay is like Tales of Eternia but with a 3D battlefield. I actually enjoyed the combat more than the Tales game. You could switch who you controlled so you didnt have to always play as Roddick which was nice. I even had some fun and played as one of the healers for awhile :P

There was a lot of customization in the game. Everytime you leveled up you got points to use. You could choose if you wanted to work on skills to make better equipment, accessories, food, ect or combat skills.

Graphics were very vibrant, love the 2D sprites on the 3D world. The anime cutscenes were fantastic of course.

One of my favorite parts? Definitely when everyone gets drunk in the inn, that was hilarious! I didnt get this Private Action when I played because I didnt do something at the right time, but if I had that would have been the best part :lol:

Cons for the game? Backtracking. You do a lot of it. Though part way through the game I got Percicci and the Bunny Whistle. The whistle summons a bunny that you "ride" that acts just like a chocobo in Final Fantasy games. That greatly helped the travel time by being able to miss all the low level random battles.

Overall, one of my favorite PSP games. My first time playing a Star Ocean game and I'm so glad I finally did. Can't wait for Second Evolution in January!

:lol: I'm joking... though I am so darn pleased that I have finally finished this drawing. Not only cause it took forever (and was a pain in the behind) but I was getting sad looking at it... it was like watching the end of Crisis Core for hours on end :( Poor Zack and Cloud *sniffle*

My very first game character drawing with a background... and this is the first that truely needed one. It wouldnt be right with them floating in a big white void... oh wait...Cloud did that in AC... awww crap you mean to tell me I didnt have to make a cool background??? *headdesk*

:P this looks so much better with it though... And ya I see the mistakes I made, but I dont care! Muhahahahaha! Came out better than I could have hoped for and Im happy with that :D

Well seeing how Im bored and couldnt think of much to talk about lets discuss box art :D

Personally, Im drawn to nice looking box art much like covers on books. However, I dont believe I have impulsively bought a game apon seeing it for the first time and reading the back. If it catches my eye in the store and I have never heard of it then Ill go read about it, watch trailers, ect when I get home.

How important is box art to you? Have there been games you were automatically drawn to because of the style/design/colors used?

When I buy used games, I always look for one that have the cover and manual. The only time I won't is if I really wanted the game that day and my chances of finding it used again are slim.

So what's your preference about used games? Do you always try to find the ones with the covers and manuals or does it not matter to you?

If I do get one without box art, I always make some sort of cover for it. If possible I try to find the official one somewhere to print out. If I cant find it, or a decent sized one, then I make something. Usually they arent very good. I dont bother with making it look like something official, just so it looks nice... anything is better than the crappy Gamestop insert in my opinion :lol: Its easier to show than explain so here is one I recently did for Chaos Legion.

How was everyones Thanksgiving?

Mine was good once I got to my relatives... it was the car ride there that was horrible. I wasnt the one driving, I was in the backseat, which causes me to get motion sickness :( I had to have my PSP on listening to music and have my eyes closed the entire trip. I wasnt very hungry by the time we got there :lol: Atleast that gave me a reason not to stuff myself :P

I should have known I couldnt ignore Black Friday. Everytime it makes me buy things I dont need at the moment.

But how can you turn down a Buy 2 get 1 free sale on games? uggh! Like I needed more! I already have unfinished games coming out of my eyeballs. How can you beat $7.50 for really good games though?? So I ended up getting Jak II, Jak 3, Chaos Legion, God of War, God of War 2 and Star Ocean 3. I had also told myself no rpgs but that didnt work :roll: *pokes SO3*

Did you guys find anything awesome to get this weekend?

After attempting to draw Sephy from the Dissidia artwork and failing miserably, I knew I had to try something else. Sephiroth was a request from Io_Reaper_oI. Thank You!!!! Drawn and shaded all last night :P I couldnt stop once I started. Im insanely happy with this one :D Sephy looks so peaceful leaning back and relaxing :lol:

...This is my second time drawing Sephiroth and yet I still cant make him look evil :lol: I wasnt actually trying to in this one, sorry for anyone who was hoping for Sephy coming out of the flames ready to chop someones head off with Masamune....wait...hmmm I might have to try that sometime :lol:

Me? Games of course :P already know Ill finally get to play FFVII again *bounces with excitement* But Im also hoping to get FFVIII and FFIX, which I have never played either one :oops: A Final Fantasy xmas for me :lol:

Let see...I went over to Gamestop and preordered Star Ocean: Second Evolution...which was a bad idea because once Im in a game store its hard not to look around :P I mean I could spend hours in a game store but get me into a clothing store and Ill take the first chance I can get to get out of there :lol: Im weird, I know *shrugs* :wink:

But back on topic: looking around in the store ended up with me buying Shadow of Colossus. Im up to the fourth Colossus now and having a blast :D

Oh I finally got the youtube videos and converter thingie to work! Yay! Lots of FFVII amvs on my PSP :D

More drawings are on the way. Tried to do Sephy and hated it which got me into a crappy mood so I wanted to make a depressing drawing. The end result is an outline done of Cloud screaming and Zack dead like at the end of Crisis Core. Ya I know, I know...another Cloud and Zack drawing. I promise Ill try to get one of the requests in before finishing it so its not back to back with the last one.

There is also another one that Im working on, which I had to be insane to try :lol: Im doing all of the Dissidia heroes in one drawing. Thats right all 10 in one, I have the outlines for the heroes from FFI to FFVII done so far.... Squall is giving me some trouble at the moment... And the real crazy part? I plan on doing the same thing with the villains in the future...yep Im officially insane :roll:

That was fast :D Didnt turn out too bad if I do say so myself, actually I think this is the best Cloud hair I have done :P Now Zack's hair...ya dont like so much... win some ya loose some I guess. Its suppose to be what it looks like at the beginning of Crisis Core. And I wish my scanner did a better job of picking up the shading *shrugs*

After my last drawing, I want to do another one where I use color for the eyes and do the rest in pencil. I actually have a half finished Cloud and Zack drawing so I believe I will do it on that one...got to try those SOLDIER eyes in color :D

Im still watching Death Note and Cowboy Bebop episodes. I loved the last Cowboy Bebop disc I watched. I think Edward is hilarious :lol: Everything she says or does makes me laugh. My favorite so far was the episode where everyone hadnt eaten for days and Ed finds a small piece of food. She tries to hide it while getting the wrapper or shell off and lets out the funniest scream ever when she sees them all standing behind her :lol: (at around 2:45 if you watch the video)

Ive been trying to put some youtube videos on my PSP but Im having some difficulties with it. Some are working but the majority of them are coming up as unsupported data when they are on my PSP :roll: *shrugs* Atleast the Dissidia TGS trailer is working on it :wink:
