Kingdom Hearts and the DS games I'm looking forward to

I'm stuck at the moment in KH :P.The second fight with Riku in the Hollow Bastion is driving me crazy. Ugh, Ive tried it a bazillion times and I get him down to half of his green bar and then he just beats the snot out of me. It shouldnt be that hard, even the Dragon was easier  I think I now have the whole cutscene before the fight memorized :P

Now that my top 10 DS games are done, lets see what DS games are coming up.

The game Im excited for the most is Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume. I loved VP: Lenneth on my PSP and Im looking forward to a new story. The trailers have looked really good so far and seems to keep similar gameplay to the original. It should be interesting to see how/if the touch screen controls will be incorporated into the game.

Next would be Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. The game follows Roxas before the events of Kingdom Hearts 2. Even though I havent played KH2 yet, I've been enjoying the series so far and this game really looks good.

Well other than that there arent any more that I definitely want. I'm keeping my eye on a few others: Sands of Destruction, Blood of Bahamut, FFCC: Echoes of Time and Megami Ibunroku: Devil Survivor. There just isnt a lot of information for these games yet to determine if it is something Ill want to pick up and some may not even make english releases in 09.

What DS games are you guys looking forward to this year?

Happy New Year - The Past and the Future

I hope eveyone has a Happy New Year! Please stay safe tonight!

The past year has been a roller coaster for me. Plenty of highlights... and plenty of heartaches. With 2009 here, I am finally on the path to get my life on track, to fulfill some goals. And I hope I have a bit of luck on my side this year... cause I darn well need it :P

2008 was a great year for gaming for me. Not only did some amazing games come out for the DS, but my first year of owning a PSP was wonderful. Not to mention the addition of the first console I have actually owned myself, a PS2. I am happily looking forward to the great games that are heading our way in the new year, games like Valkyrie Profile DS, Dissidia Final Fantasy, and Star Ocean Second Evolution just to name a few.

I want to thank everyone who has read my blogs, sent me messages and chatted with me in the unions this year. You guys are great and I love reading your thoughts and opinions. Thanks for putting up with my craziness :P See ya around in the new year!

How was your holidays? + My Top 10 DS games - #1 to 3

Whew I'm beat. Yesterday was a long day but so much fun :D Had family over and we talked and laughed so much that I have a sore throat today  I hope everyone else had a great christmas!

Did everyone get what they hoped for?

I got some awesome gifts: Final Fantasy VII (which I had known I was getting hehe), VIII and IX. I also got Digital Devil Saga 2, Death Note and Tactics dvd sets, and a couple of books I can't wait to read. And my friend surprised me with a Crisis Core wall scroll! It's an awesome shot of Zack standing infront of the Shinra building :) Woohoo!

Time continue my DS games list!

Lets recap:

10. Luminous Arc
9. Pokemon Diamond
8. Final Fantasy III
7. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
6. Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales
5. Lunar Knights
4. Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings

And now my top 3!

3. Chrono Trigger – Although I am nowhere near finishing this game, it definitely jumps high up on my list. I love the battle system and have gotten attached to the characters. The story is engaging and I am sure it will only get better the further along I get.

2. Final Fantasy IV – The story and characters set this game apart from many of the other FF games for me. It revolves around Cecil, a former captain of the Red Wing, who is stripped of rank when he refuses to follow the orders of the King. In Cecil's attempt to understand what has happened to his King, he learns that there is a greater power that is trying to gain all of the sacred crystals of the world. He isn't alone in his journey though, his best friends, Kain and Rosa, help him out as well as people he meets along the way. This game immediately sucked me into the world and I have loved every minute of it. The ATB battle system is always fun and the addition of the auto battle helps a lot with any grinding. One of my favorite FF games.

1. The World Ends With You – Other awesome game from Square Enix. The main character is Neku, who wakes up in the middle of Shibuya. He doesn't remember how he got there. He is told he must play and survive the Reaper's Game. Fail and he gets erased. This is one of the most unique games Ive had the pleasure of playing. The story had so many twists and turns that I found very enjoyable. The gameplay seemed confusing, having to control two characters at once , Neku and a partner. It was difficult at first but once I got the hang of it, it was tons of fun.

Well thats my top 10! Never realized how many were SE games until now :P Next blog will contain what upcoming DS games I am looking forward to the most and then after that I will probably do my top 10 PSP games.

Oooo hey looks like GS finally decided to switch my blog header yesterday

*goes to start playing FFVIII* :D

Merry Christmas! + my top 10 Ds games - #4 to 6

Merry Christmas guys and gals! :D I most likely won't be on tomorrow because I have a feeling Ill be glued to my PS2 playing various Final Fantasy games *hint hint* Hope everyone gets what they wished for!

I want to continue my top 10 DS games list so here is a recap:

10. Luminous Arc

9. Pokemon Diamond

8. Final Fantasy III

7. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

And now #6, 5 and 4!

6. Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales – Three simple words – Just plain fun. This title may look like an easy kid game from the outside, but as the old saying goes "never judge a book by its cover". It applies to games as well :D The story is fairly straightforward, a little chocobo (I named mine Cloud  ) trying to save his friends and the crystals. The mini games are fun and some are rather tough. There were also card battles. I have not had good experiences with that type of gameplay but I loved the way they did it in this game.

5. Lunar Knights – Vampire Sci-fi game? Heck yes count me in  In this game, Earth is controlled by vampires and humans are just food. The Vampires have created a device that blocks out the sun and have suits of armor which have prevented the resistance fighters, known as the Guild, from overthrowing them. The mysterious Lucien and young guild member, Aaron, become the two characters you control. Simple strategy with the characters was needed to make the most out of the game. One gains their power from the sun and the other from the moon which requires you to swap between the two characters. Each attack drains power and can be recharged in daylight or moonlight. Changes in weather can give you an advantage or even allow you to access certain areas that were closed off. Also some creatures are weak against a certain element. The gameplay is basically a dungeon crawler with rpg elements. Each character has multiple types of weapons that can be upgraded. There are also space battles as you take a defeated vampire up to destroy it with solar radiation. Now if only they would make a sequel, I crave more!

4. Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings – Once again not a game I had planned on purchasing. After the disappointment of Heroes of Mana, I had planned to stay clear of RTS games on the DS. Boy would that have been a huge mistake. The controls made the game work where HoM failed. I thought it had a great story : ) Love the characters from FFXII so it was nice to see them all in a new adventure.

Next blog will be my top 3!

Noctis Drawing!

This time I did Noctis from Final Fantasy Versus XIII. The new trailer was insanely awesome so I knew I had to try to draw Noct :P There arent many refernces for him so I had to pause the video a couple times to see his outfit. I tried to get the design on his jacket right but I know it isnt. Close enough  Also the sword is actually one he uses, you can see it in the new trailer when he teleports in the air next to the building and kills the guys as he falls... of course with much more detail than I did

Well enough chat, here is is:

Finished Shadow Of Colossus yesterday. Awesome game! Just wow :D Loved every minute of it. My favorite ones were the two worms, #10 and 13. They were insanely fun to take down :) Anyone who owns a system that can run this game needs to pick it up if they havent already.

Next blog will continue my top 10 DS games list with #4, 5 and 6.

My top 10 DS games - # 7 to 10

 Well Im jumping on the bandwagon and doing some favorites lists. DS will be the first but I plan on doing PSP and possibly some others. Only going to talk a bit about them because Im lazy :P  Oh and also once I get to the end of the list, Ill post the future DS games Im looking forward to the most.

10. Luminous Arc – An srpg from Atlus about a corrupt religion bent on resurrecting their "god" and the witches who are trying to stop it. The main characters in the game are Alph and Lucia. Although there are plenty of other characters, the story revolves around these two. The dialog is cheesy but I loved it. Plenty of LOL moments. There were definitely some slow points to the game but considering my lack of love for srpgs, I was surprised that I liked it so much. The gameplay is a bit easier than other srpgs which probably worked in its favor for me. One major flaw was the touch screen controls which were basically useless. It was faster, easier, and more accurate to just use the buttons.

9. Pokemon Diamond – Ive been playing Pokemon since Red and Blue so Im fairly experienced with the series. This time you are in the Sinnoh region with tons of new pokemon to catch. The best part about this game is the ability to get all of the pokemon from every region. I thought the story was one of the better ones. There was a reason to keep playing other than just beating the gyms and the Elite Four. I though Team Galactic had a better role as the villains than earlier games with Team Rocket. Overall, this was one of my favorites in the series. However, they really need to overhaul the series. After this game I don't see how they can get any better without making serious changes, like a deeper story, 3D battles, ect.

8. Final Fantasy III – An old FF game that never came to the states if I remember correctly. I felt a sense of accomplishment in beating this game  The story and characters were lacking compared to the more current FF games but I figured it would be due to being one of the earlier games. I loved the job system. It is a very solid RPG.

7. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass – It had been a long time since I had played a Zelda game before picking this up. PH is supposedly a sequel to Wind Waker but I never played that game and I didn't have a problem following the story. This was a game I hadn't planned on getting but very glad I did. Overall it was way better than I expected, lots of dungeons to explore, puzzles to solve and bosses to beat. It brought back a lot of memories and I enjoyed the fluid touch screen controls.

#4, 5 and 6 in my next blog! Also my Noctis drawing will be finished by then :D

Sora Drawing!

Just flying through these drawings arent I? I usually draw at night before I sleep. It helps me to relieve stress... and I've had a lot of stress lately, hence getting tons of drawings done :P

This one is Sora from Kingdom Hearts. I think it turned out good :)

Next will either be Noctis from FF Versus XIII(part way done but have to fix some things I dont like) or Lelouch from Code Geass.

Dissidia Heroes Drawing!

YAY! Im happy I finished this drawing before the release of Dissidia this week :D

This one was tough, never done more than 3 people in one drawing before. Doing it in panels helped though, wouldnt have been able to do it otherwise. Took forever to shade but was so much fun. I think Firion and Cecil turned out the best imo. I hope to do the villains the same way as well. Probably not as my next drawing but Ill get to it at some point :)

And OMG totally awesome Advent Children Complete trailer! *drools all over her keyboard* GIMME!!!

Gears of War 2...

...is freaking AWESOME!

 Played it this weekend co-op with my brother and it was great. Better than the first one and probably my favorite shooter.

I will definitely have to sneak over again sometime to finish it :D

Chrono Trigger!

I picked up Chrono Trigger the other day even though I told myself I was going to wait on getting it  This is my first time playing CT. I haven't gotten very far... spoiler-roo cause I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who hasn't played CT before :P
Just ran from the King and Chancellor with Marle and ended up in what looks like the future. Crono was innocent I tell ya! :P Couldn't believe when they deemed him not guilty then the Chancellor said that Crono was sentenced to death. I was like "No way man!"
I'm definitely enjoying it :D And it should only get better. I'm using the touch screen controls which work really well for combat and menus. But I find that using the d-pad to move around is tons easier than the stylus. Now I'm gonna have the difficult task of deciding if I want to finish FFIV first or keep playing CT  I'll share more when I get further and/or finish the game :D

I've been playing Shadow of Colossus as well. I'm up to the 11th one. The 9th one was the most annoying for me so far. It wasn't too hard to get it down so I could climb on it; it was getting onto the back when it stood up that was tough for me. My favorite at the moment is the 10th one. It was so cool turning around in the saddle to shoot at the giant colossus chasing me through the sand :D

Thats all for now I think...
