I beat Final Fantasy IX last night :D I thought it was a wonderful game. The characters were really fantastic, none of them drove me crazy :wink: I loved Freya, great character design. The Burmecians were awesome. I would have loved to have seen more about her and Sir Fratley. She was always in my group when she was avaliable to use. Zidane was great, he reminded me of Zack :P A bit goofy and a ladies man :lol: I thought he was a fantastic main character and duel weapons are freaking cool. Vivi was ok personality wise but holy cow he kicked butt with his black magic. He, along with Dagger, were the other two that were always in my group when possible.

The abilities system wasnt too bad. Mainly it was annoying when I wanted a new weapon because it was stronger but I wanted the ability on the weaker weapon and would have to wait until I finished maxing it. But it wasnt bad, especially after getting Ability Up on everyone.

Fantastic music like always in Final Fantasy games. My favorites being A Song from Her Memory, A Place to Call Home, Freya's Theme, and Kuja's Theme

My favorite parts in the game would have been when you first meet Kuja and fight him in Burmecia, the battle in Alexandria with Bahamut and Alexander, and the ending.

The game gets a 9.5 / 10 from me :D Edit: For anyone curious, it would be ranked 4th at the moment in my favorite FF games list, behind FFVII, FFVIII, and FFXII.

Ok so I know when they first showed us screenies of Snow from FFXIII I happened to comment that he reminded me of Dante from Devil May Cry :P I found this image and thought it was kind of funny. For me, Snow acting and/or looking like Dante is most definitely not a bad thing :wink:

Heya everyone. Sorry I've been kind of absent lately. I had Midterms this week at college and had tons of assignments and studying to do. I did well on them... though one could have been better *shrugs* at least I passed them all right? :D

I have been playing Star Ocean Second Evolution. I'm just about to start the Field of Courage. Also been playing FFIX, I just started Ipsen's Castle. I still have a ways to go on both but atleast I'm getting closer to finishing them :D FFIX just keeps getting better and better the further I get into the game. SO: SE is very good, I like the story but sometimes the dialog and VAs get on my nerves.

I saw this video called Euphoria on youtube and thought it was awesome, has a bunch of different FF games as well as KH in it :)

Finished my latest drawing. I decided to try Lightning from FFXIII again since I hated the last one I did. This one turned out much better :D I love her character design.

That's right. Sephiroth is looking out for the world. He wants harmony between man, nature and machine.

...Well at least his voice actor, George Newbern does :P

I saw the Solar commercial today I said "Oh my gawd thats Sephiroth!" ...everyone was looking at me funny...

... but now I can't get the image of Sephiroth driving a Prius out of my head :lol:

The Dissida demo is AWESOME! I can't even imagine what the real game is going to be like when I have played the demo so many times that I have had to recharge my PSP twice :lol: ...and my hands have gone numb :P

You have the choice of Cloud, Sephiroth, Cecil, Terra and Onion Knight. There is no story parts in the demo, just a brief tutorial during the load screens. I have been very curious to finally get a feel for the combat. I'm absolutely loving it, it is so much fun! The controls are easy to use but at the same time it is complicated enough that you can not just mash a button. It never gets boring because you have Brave Point attacks and Hp attacks, you can get a boost if you are able to get your enemy to Break, there are quick time sequences as well as EX mode. The demo only gives you a sample of the character's moves as far as I can tell/have heard.

What I really love is how each character feels different, they play different and your strategy is different. For example, I started with Sephiroth. His range is longer with Masamune so I was able to hit the enemy from further away as they tried to get in range. His movements were fast but it was like he used as little energy as possible to get the job done. Cloud on the other hand was much more up close and personal, his attacks were powerful and also allowed him to glide towards the enemy. This allowed you to get in quick to land a blow and get out just as fast. Cecil was very interesting. He had both Dark Knight and Paladin attacks. Terra has a few close attacks but I found it easier to keep my distance with her and cast her magic. Onion Knight was extremely fast, his attacks were weaker but I could get in multiple hits because he was so quick.

The music is fantastic. Cloud, Sephiroth and Cecil's voice actors are back which I am very glad to hear. Terra and Onion Knight's are very nice and the tiny snippets of some of the other characters made me wish to hear more.

This demo has me even more excited now! With all the characters, the story, unlockable items, customizing your characters and equipment, and editing your fights to view as a video, I can't wait to get my hands on the full game! :D

P.S. - Does anyone know who does the voice of Onion Knight? At times I swear he sounds exactly like Joshua from The World Ends With You.

Finally! Been lurking for the past two hours for PSN to update :lol: Downloading now! So excited! The playable characters in the demo are Cloud, Sephiroth, Cecil, Terra, and Onion Knight.

Will give impressions once I can tear myself away from my PSP :D

I'm really excited because Torchwood, one of the only tv shows I watch, started its third season yesterday. Though I guess it is techincally a 5 part mini-series. I DVR'ed the first part but havent had the time to watch it yet. Another series that I love, Eureka, also started new episodes just a couple weeks ago. So I finally have some shows to watch again :lol:

That was the good news. The bad news? I saw Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince... and unfortunately I was disappointed. A very important part of the book imo was left completely out of the movie.

[spoiler] The whole fight scene at the end of the book was cut out! Ugh I cant believe it! [/spoiler]

It did not live up to what I had expected. Hopefully, they can make a worthy ending with Deathly Hallows...

Last but not least, a quick note on gaming. I made it to the third disc in FFIX. I have arrived back at the Black Mages Village. The part with Bahamut and Alexander was awesome :D

I've been playing FFIX. I just got Amarant into the group and on my way back to the Iifa Tree. Really enjoying the game :D

Also I have been playing Star Ocean Second Evolution... I'll probably get slapped for this, but I actaully like the first game better so far. I don't know why. Still it is a fun game. I have just reached Ell. I want to finish the game before Dissidia comes out because I know that game will not leave my PSP for a very long time after I get it :lol: (BTW Dissidia demo supposedly out on July 23!!!! WOOHOO!)

Has anyone seen Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince yet? Was it good? I'll be going Sunday to see it :) I re-read the sixth book in like 4 days so I could remember it all and see how close the movie comes to it :lol:

I've been wanting to draw some TWEWY characters for awhile now :D Ended up doing my favorite Game Master of the Reapers, Sho Minamimoto, also known as Pi-Face or the Grim Heaper. My first time doing a character with a hat :P Loving the way this one turned out.

Since I felt like doing another one and I don't draw nearly enough female characters, I picked Shiki. Scanner did a poor job with this one :( A lot of the shading on her jacket is missing because it was too light for it to pick up I guess.

I might draw some Star Ocean characters next :D

Heya all :) I've been kind of busy lately. It's my second week of summer c.lasses at college so lots of work to do. Not to mention the school messed up some paperwork and I've been having to spend time trying to fix their mistakes :roll: Still haven't solved everything yet.

However that hasn't stopped me from doing some fun things :D

I finally got new colored pencils, triple the number of colors I had before, which allowed me to finish a new drawing. It's FFVII again... sue me :lol: I wanted to do the characters who wielded the Buster Sword all in one drawing: Angeal, Zack and Cloud. But after watching ACC, I thought "Wouldn't it be cool if the legacy of the buster sword was passed on to Denzel?" So I decided to try to draw him grown up. I made up his outfit, though some parts I intentionally made similar to Cloud in ACC.

Something about Zack makes him my favorite in this drawing. Maybe it's just the expression I chose... it just seems so Zack, ya know?

I've been playing Final Fantasy IX mostly. I just arrived at the Outer Continent and I think I was told to go to the Southeast Forest...

I have almost finished FullMetal Alchemist. Absolutely love it :D I'm looking for any suggestions on what to watch next, because frankly anime is all I have been watching. I've seen ones like Death Note, Code Geass, Cowboy Bebop, Tsubasa, Noein, Wolf's Rain…Loved them all. So what should I try next? Doesn't matter if it's subbed or dubbed.

The Kingdom Hearts keyblades were originally supposed to be chainsaws? I would have loved to have been in that room when Nomura pitched the idea to the Disney executives :lol: Disney and Final Fantasy meets Gears of War chainsaw duels? :lol:

Oh ya! Thats right! FINALLY I got to see Advent Children Complete. In a 36 hour period, I watched the movie a total of 3 times...plus the special features :D I could have watched it more but I took pity on my poor brother. He was nice enough to let me come over and hijack his PS3 after all.

Just a warning, this whole blog will have SPOILERS on all the extra scenes in the movie. If you don't want to know please click away now.

Okies first off, the movie looks amazing on Blu-ray. Sharper, crisper, better. The added dirt, scrapes, cuts, dents and blood on everything definitely added to the experience of the movie.

Not only are there extra scenes but new dialog that is so much better than the original. For example, the scene where Cloud and Rufus talk in Healin was always awkward imo. SOOOO much better in ACC. I love when Cloud asks if Rufus is hiding anything from him and Rufus replies that he would never hide anything from a colleague. Just the way he said it was perfect, you knew that Rufus would turn against him if it was in his best interests.

The extra scenes with Reno and Rude were great. It was nice to see that they were trying to atone for their past sins but at the same time they had hilarious moments and lines that I think was seriously lacking at times in the original. For example, the look on Reno's face when Yazoo shoots the control stick of his chopper and he realize it is no longer attached had me laughing.

I loved that they explained the effects of Geostigma and showed you people who were infected and dying from the disease. They also explained EXACTLY how Geostigma occured. One of my favorite parts were when Cloud is visiting Zack's buster sword and he colapses from the stigma. Previously he just saw flashes of Sephiroth. But this time, Sephiroth actually speaks to him. Really awesome.

Also I love the added flashback of how Cloud met Denzel. I already knew the details due to reading the Novel that came with the Limited Edition version of AC but to see it in the movie was amazing. It showed a different side of Cloud and also made the father/son relationship between the two much more noticable. I never really connected with Denzel's character before but that has changed with the added scenes. I could definitely see him growing up into Cloud's footsteps.

There is a part where Cloud takes Marlene back to 7th Heaven. It is absolutely hilarious! She impersonates Barret and the look on Cloud's face was priceless. This was also a great scene showing a different side of Cloud that wasnt really shown in the original.

The best part is the fact that I can say I was right :P :lol: The movie clearly explains that Cloud's mood and the reason he had been away from 7th Heaven was not from Aerith's death but was in fact because he could not find a cure for Geostigma for Denzel, who he considers part of his family. Also, because he believed he was not strong enough to protect Tifa, Marlene and Denzel in his current state of battling the effects of Geostigma.

I thought it was awesome seeing added scenes of Zack in flashback form. Many of which were parts of Crisis Core.

Lets see what else...

Oh the part where Denzel is surrounded by monsters and a building was ready to fall on top of Tifa was awesome. Cloud sees Denzel's perdicament as Zack's battle against the Shinra army and Tifa's as Aerith's death. It was cool how he saves both of them, kind of like redeeming himself for what occured in the past.

I don't need to state how awesome the added scenes were in the Sephiroth battle. It was so cool even if Cloud was covered in blood :lol: Zack's little pep talk near the end was perfect imo.

I loved that they showed why and how all of the people came to the church to welcome Cloud back after the explosion, it was really sweet.

The new voice actors for both Marlene and Denzel were much better imo in ACC. Especially Marlene, she really did a great job on her lines.

There is an extra scene after the credits roll that I love. Cloud restored the Buster Sword and moved it into the church so it could be next to Aerith's flowers and the Lifestream infused water. It was perfect because after Crisis Core I hated seeing the Buster Sword all rusted. It kind of was a way to show that Zack is now with Aerith in the lifestream and they arent alone.

Whew... I think that's just about all I can say, I enjoyed every minute of it.

If you watched the original Advent Children and loved it, then do yourself a favor and get this version! It is a million times better. I have always been a fan of Advent Children and I seriously doubt I will ever want to watch the original version again. The changes are just too fantastic that I cant image watching a version without them.

If you watched the original Advent Children and hated it, I urge you to rent Advent Children Complete if you have a Blu-ray player. I'm not saying you will change your opinion with this version but it has a lot going for it. Atleast give Complete a shot if you are a Final Fantasy VII fan.

Speaking of Kingdom Hearts, I beat KH2 last night. Awesome game! So much better than the first imo. I could write tons on what I loved about it but it pretty much was everything: story, characters, gameplay... I guess Im just lazy today and dont feel like writing much. I'll just let my score of 10 for the game speak for me :)
