I wish I had created this game. All you needed was that crappy Doom or Wolfenstein engine and created an editor with it. Even the Quake engine is too advanced for it. Honestly, I wouldn't spend even a minute playing this game.
The real answer is that it's both the price and the lack of software. Nobody is stupid enough to buy the 8gig version so that's not even an argument. The only games so far are a bunch of side scrollers and kiddie games. There's no wow factor for any games. All upcoming games look like revamped wii games with slightly better graphics. Where was that Zelda demo with the spider at E3? Nintendo can't seem to make the leap to HD.
Game does not look next generation in the least. When I say a 3D world I meant a fully realized world like the Zelda demo at E3 not a side scroller that is changed to 3D. There is absolutely nothing revolutionary about it.

If Nintendo releases one of their top IP such as Metroid, Donkey Kong, or Mario with this type of HD graphic fidelity, then Wii U consoles would be selling off the shelf.
All is not lost. Nintendo has billions of dollars to burn through before they're bankrupt. They need to release a real 3D world Zelda like the demo they used at E3, or a 3D world Donkey Kong Country, or a 3D world Mario, etc. Releasing side scrollers or unknown ip like Pikmin isn't going to cut it for a new system. Also, they'll probably going to have to drop the price since for $50 more you can just buy a PS4 which doesn't make much sense to people on a budget.
