I said you don't criticize your colleagues in PUBLIC. It's tacky and makes you sound as if you are a know it all jerk which he did sound like. He should have PRIVATELY exchanged comments with the developers like a professional.
Well, at least he apologized. Even though I agree with his sentiments he probably should have kept it to himself. You don't criticize your colleagues in public. It makes you look like a total jerk. Anyways, I wish Wolfenstein would move towards a third person shooter or combination such as Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway.
Crysis 3 was way too short for the series, lasting only 4-5 hours while Deadspace 3 left their roots and tried to become an action co-op game. Also, it came out too soon with very little innovation and a non-sensical story. Both games were decent and I wound up buying both of them because I liked the series and just wanted to finish it rather than because I was excited for them. I'd say lack of sales were most likely due to release after Christmas, the crappy economy, and mediocre reviews.
What third party is going to support them even if the system was all powerful? They could try to pay for exclusives like they did with Rogue Squadron for the Gamecube but I guarantee that the system will survive without third party support just like the Gamecube and Nintendo 64. I promise you when they showcase Zelda or Metroid in HD then people will go out and buy it. Also, lots of kiddies like the tablet controls. The system won't sell like the Wii did but it'll definitely be viable, especially if prices for PS4/Xbox3 is $400-600.
The original Wii had several third party developers which tried and all failed miserably, like Dead Space, Mad World, COD. Third party will not risk spending millions to fail on the Wii U when the stakes are higher with HD. Selling point and reality are two different things. Of course Nintendo are telling people that third party developers will come. They'd be stupid not to. Reality is that people who buy the Wii U will either buy for casual games or Nintendo's IP. Hard core gamers will most likely also own an xbox 3 or PS4 where they'll buy COD on those systems because that's where the community is based. When Zelda HD, Metroid HD, Mario HD, etc are released then there will be a resurgence in Wii U sales.
The Wii U has only one purpose, which is to play Nintendo's IP games in HD, such as Mario HD, Zelda HD, Metroid HD, etc. Nobody is going to play COD or Battlefield on the Wii U even if their hardware is superior to the xbox 3 or PS4.
What's the point of upgrading from Windows 7? The metro UI is just not pragmatic for desktop use and I don't like to learn how to use a completely different OS that has been standard since windows xp. Windows 8 was meant for portable devices and was forced on consumers.
