With the information we currently have, its impossible to say if this episodic format will make FF7R a complete trainwreck. For what we know it might be handled in a similar manner as Starcraft 2. That said though, even I would have prefered if it was just a single game.

Considering they said that each episode will have a "unique story", I think its pretty clear that each episode will cover a story arc and FF7 can oly be divided in three story arcs, those beingthe initial Midgar section, chasing Sephiroth and Meteorfall. The problem with this though is that the first Midgar section was at most 4 hours long, I honestly do not see how they are planning on stretching that into a full game.

The thing is, its too soon to judge if FF7R is a complete trainwreck. From what was stated one could reach the conclusion that each may have the content you would expect from a full Final Fantasy game.

It depends. If by episodic they mean 6 hour long mini-episodes then it is obviously a complete turn off. If each episode has the same amount of content you would expect from a full game then I am ok with the decision although I would have obviously prefered if it was only one game.

JRPGs developed by Square Enix have sucked for a long time but they have never been short games which is why I dont see each of these episodes being 6 hour long games. In fact is there not some article on kotaku saying that each episode will have the volume of content you would expect of a full game?

You know, if they actually add new content that is actually good, flesh out some of the supporting cast that never got much characterization in the original and therefore give these "episodes" enough content to be considered full games then I would not hate this decision so much but somehow I doubt this will be the case.

So in other words, they just want to ruin FF7.

Considering Cloud was in coma for 5 years right before the events of the game, him being very skinny makes sense.

Nah not really. All the good things shown is footage from games we already know about.

In other words no good announcements. Yeah I loved what was shown about FF7 remake and Ni Oh but these games were already announced.
