LOL...the developer himself said ps3 is less powerful so wtf? oblivion will look better on xbox 360 once shader update comes out, because it uses aa unlike ps3 and has hdr and upscalable to 1080p unlike ps3.wawowowoworrwhen did he say this? you are the most blind fanboy ive EVER seen. you're now im my ignore list.... your ignorance makes me laugh.
[QUOTE="rahzel54"][QUOTE="wawowowoworr"]i dont know what i'm talking about? lol LISTEN to this interview: http://www.gamesradar.com/us/ps3/game/movies/index.jsp?releaseId=20060726163237511007 and READ what i quoted. in the interview above, they ask him when 360 owners can expect the upgrades. Pete Hines says that upgrades is kind of an overstatement and that only a few things can be brought to the other versions. most of the upgrades Oblivion got are exclusive to the ps3 because of the architecture, meaning the hardware... what else would that mean? also, again:[QUOTE="rahzel54"][QUOTE="Ninja-Vox"]rahzel, you haven't got a clue what you're talking about. He's simply saying that Oblivion has been optimised to run a certain way on the PS3, because it's architecture is different to the PC and 360. If you READ what's been given to you they say specifically that it only looks better on the PS3 *SLIGHTLY* and the only reason for that is because of added development time - NOTHING TO DO WITH HARDWARE.wawowowoworr
please read THAT specific interview and listen to the one on gameradar. even if they had more dev time on the 360, they could only be done on the ps3 as quoted above. also, IF the ps3 version got more dev time, i doubt they had that much more. Pete Hines said they started working on the PS3 version in March 2006 (when the 360/PC versions were released). its pretty much done already and it hasnt even been a year. i doubt Oblivion for the 360 and PC versions took a lot less time than a year. also, the ps3 version is a ported version, and the ps3's hardware is very complex and the dev tools are not very mature yet. so the extra time was probably mostly needed because of this. i doubt they had that much time to optimize for the ps3.Pete Hines: Yeah, quite a few of the optimisations done for this version are specific to the way the PlayStation 3 is designed, in the way it processes information… so those optimisations wouldn't be applicable to the other versions.
those optimisations are done because of ps3's shortcomings like installing 5gb of game onto hdd when you first start game, to shorten loadtimes or to make up for lack of memory etc..playstation 3 is less powerful than xbox 360 check this out

Shack: Can you offer any insight into how much of that was made possible by the PS3 hardware versus simply the additional development time?
Pete Hines: It was entirely due to extra development time. It's not like the PS3 can do this and the others can't, it's actually something we were considering doing for the other platforms as well. We specifically did it here because we had some time and one of our graphics programmers said he could do it. Things like that are in the PS3 version, but everything else is just things that make the game load faster and run faster, so it runs as well if not better than the PC or 360 version. That was our goal all along. We felt like we were going to take however long it took until the PS3 version looked and played as well as it could.
those aren't the optimizations im talking about... you fail. i'm talking about the visual optimizations. if you would have listened to the interview i posted (near the 13 minute mark) you would know what i'm talking about. and like i said before, he says that most of the optimizations that were done on the ps3 version are exclusive to the ps3, so even if the 360 had more dev time, it wouldn't be possible. to anyone who tries to say the same thing as the person i quoted above, LISTEN TO THE INTERVIEW before commenting... thats now 2 people who have said the same thing.the only visual optimisation is the shader update smart guy, he's talking about other optimisations nothing else graphical is done to the game, ps3 will end up running oblivion worse than 360 lol.
lmao... you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. again, LISTEN to the interview. it runs worse on the ps3? lol is all i have to say... have you read ANYTHING regarding oblivion on ps3?i dont know what i'm talking about? lol LISTEN to this interview: http://www.gamesradar.com/us/ps3/game/movies/index.jsp?releaseId=20060726163237511007 and READ what i quoted. in the interview above, they ask him when 360 owners can expect the upgrades. Bethesda loaded cache onto the PS3's HDD to cut down on load times, yes. but this was also done on the 360 version (and obviously the PC version). Pete Hines has stated this in several interviews.[QUOTE="mohammad112388"][QUOTE="primetime2121"][QUOTE="l1mIt"]u have got to be kidding, the xbox version has AA?? yea right it does, not with its outdated GPU. but if it does it would explain the low Framerate :lol:primetime2121
maybe you were living in a cave or something but Xenos > RSX....everyone and their momma knows this
cell>360 processor by 30% Xenos>Rsx by less thab 10%
and where did you get those numbers from ?? how much percent is 360's available memory better compared to PS3 ??
its not better. PS3 Cell - 256MB XDR @ 3.2Ghz RSX - 256MB of GDDR3 @ 700Mhz 360 512MB GDDR3 @ 700Mhz of total system memory + 10mb of EDRAM for the sister core. the only advantage worth mentioning, is the 360's OS uses 32mb less memory and it has 10mb of edram for AA with little performance loss at 720p resolution. PS3 uses XDR memory which is faster than GDDR3. RSX can also use Cell's XDR memory if needed and can also offload duties to Cell's SPE's. like i said before, Xenos is slightly better than the RSX, but Cell is better than Xenon imo. both systems are pretty equal, but to me, the ps3 has more potential. ya ya, i know you've heard that word before, but one things for sure, both systems are pretty equal right now.

But teh 360...its more powerful.......eeeeehhhhhhh...wrong
wawowowoworr
oblivions developers said the ps3 version looks graphically better because of more development time, he said it has nothing to do with ps3 hardware /YOU FAILED NOOB.
YOU fail noob. READ and LISTEN to the interview... he Pete Hines says that most of the upgrades are exclusive to the PS3 and only a few things are coming to the 360. also here: http://spong.com/detail/editorial.jsp?eid=10109516&cid=&tid=&pid=&plid=&page=3&cb=17SPOnG: Okay, back to the game! Some of the optimisations you've made on the PS3 version, you've said, are going to make their way over to the Xbox 360 and PC versions [via updates] at some point in the future. Pete Hines: Yeah, there's a few things we've done that are non-platform specific that may be applicable to the PC or the 360. SPOnG: But some at the same time will be PS3-specific? Pete Hines: Yeah, quite a few of the optimisations done for this version are specific to the way the PlayStation 3 is designed, in the way it processes information… so those optimisations wouldn't be applicable to the other versions.
Meh! Those are just PS2 games with better graphics. I don't see them selling casuals on a $600 system. What made Sony the leader in the first place? The first PS had relatively weak competition, and the franchises you mentioned were new (except for FF: newer) and innovative. The PS2 snuck in to a gazillion houses thanks to GTA3. GTA4 is a toss-up now, and the new iterations of their classic money makers don't look like anything ground-breaking. Granted, neither does Halo 3, but MS is clearly pushing new IPs more and it's paying off. I'd own a PS3 already if I cared about Blu Ray...if I just wanted to play Metal Gear and Final Fantasy games, I'd buy a PS2.then we can throw in Resistance, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm, Lair, Eight Days, Uncharted as NEW upcoming (or released) and highly anticipated PS3 titles. and to say they are just PS2 games with better graphics is a joke. but who cares if they are anyway?

[QUOTE="AsadMahdi59"][QUOTE="TheCrimsonKoopa"]Hey, no love for DMC4?M-e-t-h-o-d-206
i heard dmc doesnt sell well.
i don't even know what DMC4 is lol thats because you're an xbox fanboy. DMC (Devil May Cry btw) has a huge fanbase and its probably the biggest reason i bought a PS3.
