It won't fail, but it won't really get going until next year.
Sony is gonna see one hell of a 2007 while the Wii and 360 keep up the flow.
I think 2008 will be the year that Sony matches wits with the other consoles ChesdermanStip
i think the ps3 will start to pickup steam in march. but i agree that it won't be until 2008 until it catches up (in sales) with the 360 and wii. and even after that, theres still 3+ years before the "next" gen consoles are released and even considering that, the consoles will still be sold years after that. like i said, this war is just beginning. don't be surprised if the ps3 ends up being number 1 when its all said and done.

don't be so sure... theres still another 5+ years before we will truly know. the ps3 has yet to release their big guns such as devil may cry, MGS, FF and GT, which are the killer apps many ps fanboys are waiting for and will sell millions of consoles alone. my guess is wii will be number 1 (this is coming from me, a sony fanboy) but imo, the wii is not the ps3 or 360's direct competition anymore because of price, targeted audience and power. the ps3 and 360 will most likely battle it out for number 1, but i also wouldn't be surprised if the ps3 (or the 360) were number 1 when its all said and done. the console war is just beginning... its foolish to talk about who will be #1 or #2, but we do know the ps3 will NOT fail.
I never said it will fail. I think the PS3 is a great console with great games. 5 years is a long time. So everything might change. The PS3 might be going ultra slow now, but wait till the big guns come out!

Hey, I live in the UK, so the PS3 hasnt come out yet, though today i paid my deposit. But, I still am worried that its not the right decision. I like some of the games on all the consoles, and at the moment the PS3 has the majority of my favourite exclusives. And i do like that there are a lot of new ideas coming from developers at the moment. But, there is a lot of negative press, despite good sales. I'm worried that the exclusives will go multiplatform, and that the console's sales will go down. Basically, I don't want to buy a console which may die. I know that this is unlikely, but there are a lot of people who think it may happen. I just want to make sure that the console I buy has full developer support, and is the more powerful of the two. I want to make sure I'm spending my money wisely. So, can anyone tell me that the PS3 will be successful? Please reassure me... adfaadfa2003
lol.. it really makes me laugh when people think the ps3 is going to fail. dont believe all the crap people post, because theyre most likely just fanboys. the video was posted in the video section. the interviewer asks when 360 owners can expect the visual upgrades that ps3 got, and he said that visual upgrades is kind of an overstatement and that most of the visual upgrades that the ps3 got are exclusive to the ps3; theres maybe 1 or 2 things that the 360 can do.

Bioshock along with GeoW and maybe NG2 (whenever that gets released) are the only games that really interest me on the 360. if it comes to ps3 (which i think it will eventually) this is great news.
