I don't quite understand the petition. Wasn't Lucas the director for the prequel trilogy which Star Wars fans nearly unnamously agree are the worst of the now 7 movies? What makes people think he will suddenly return to greatness if he were to come back. Moreso, and more importantly, if he were to return and suddenly take over for episodes 8 and 9 he is now thrown into the middle of a story that he didn't have control of. I'd rather them stick to the plan they have for consistency rather than bring Lucas in and have him change plans to his liking.
@davillain-: I feel like Doomsday was in the trailer for two reasons:
1. To show off Wonder Woman. The appearance of Wonder Woman in the trailer was a cool moment that demonstrate just how powerful and bad ass she is. Don't think that scene could have been put in the trailer without showing Doomsday.
2. It was already rumored that Doomsday was in the film. I remember reading an article over the summer about Michael Shannon, the General Zod actor, talking about wearing some type of prosthetic arms for his role in the upcoming movie. Maybe showing off Doomsday in the trailer was a way to beat leaks and spoilers to the punch.
And while you can never trust movie directors, they'll say anything to keep up the anticipation of their movie, perhaps this really is just a minor reveal in the grand scheme of the entire movie. Perhaps there are bigger surprises and secrets in store. Lex Luthor robosuit? Green Lantern? Martian Manhunter? Darkseid? Brainiac? Who knows for sure but here's hoping this movie packs more surprises than just Doomsday.
@DawgByte2: Well atleast for people like us, where gaming and VR isn't one of our priorities, we have the benefit of saving money and seeing just how successful VR becomes. Regardless if the tech succeeds or fails prices will drop eventually. So either VR fades away and we will have saved ourselves $400-$600 or it is a huge success and we can be late adopters that make the purchase after price drops, a catalog of games grows, and we know we aren't purchasing something that will be forgotten after a couple years.
Based on this rumor pricing and the pricing of the Rift I'll be holding off on VR for sometime. I'll wait for price drops but more importantly I'll be looking to see what type of reception VR receives. Does it live up to expectations? Is it more innovation or gimmick? Will developers continue to support it over the years or will it gradually become obsolete like the Kinect?
I'm excited for the possibility of VR but $400-$600 (more expensive than any current gen console) is too expensive for a device that has a lot of questions marks surrounding it.
Definitely too high of a price, especially for someone like me who isn't eager to own VR. I'd love to give VR a try but I'm not willing to pay $600 for something that I may or may not like. Not to mention that there is no guarantee the technology will become a mainstay in gaming. It could be the next evolution of gaming or it could go the way of the Virtual Boy and the Kinect where it quickly fades away. There is also the possibility that it has Wii type success where it is extremely popular and successful at first but gradually dissolves into a niche technology that is only worthwhile for certain games.
I'm still struggling with the games from this year. Between Bloodborne, Witcher 3, Fallout 4, Arkham Knight (mainly the dlc), and the sports games I play frequently I haven't been able fully complete any of the games. I'm going to have to resist any new games at the beginning of 2016 until I clear the backlog a bit
Why does Sony "need" Horizon and/or The Last Guardian to live up to the hype? Their console sales are well ahead of the competition and don't seem to be in danger of falling off. Even if the games flop, like The Order, the PS4 will still be be bringing in solid profit.
I feel like developers face a catch 22 with some gamers these days. If a game isn't long enough you'll have a group of people complaining that the game isn't worth $60 because there isn't enough content. If a game has hundreds of hours of content but contains a lot of boring missions (like "fetch" missions) you'll have one group of people saying "this game is mostly boring, too many pointless missions" and another group of people praising the game saying "these developers are the best! There's so much to do in the game! Well worth $60!"
