high-end PC sure is awesome (compared to my PS3 version which a bit blurry but still have an amazing lightning). But graphics is not the reason why Bioshock Infinite is so awesome :D
@larkin-54 @sensei_hEnRY of course there are many games out there that doesn't require violence to be good, Journey and Rayman: Origins are my most favorites :) but let's be honest, FPS and third person shooter are the main attraction, the money (or easy money) maker for game industry. Looking at the sales of Call of Duty, Battlefield, Halo, and Gears of War, i don't think that would change in near future. But that doesn't mean game developers can think that gamers are barbaric creature that its thirst can only be quenched by blood. We want some depths behind Kratos's behavior to pull out cyclops eye or Isaac's hobby to curb stomp necromorphs.
EA probably continue the product placement from Medal of Honor: Warfighter for Battlefield 4 (but i hope this time i can throw away my original loadout on campaign). The screenshot looks great, i don't really care about the graphics because i'm gonna get the console version (and BF3 on PS3 is amazingly good for me). I know that Battlefield is an online multiplayer oriented game, but I hope EA DICE would put more offline content for this game (bots please?). One thing that i love from Call of Duty series is there are so many things to do after the campaign is over even for an offline player like me (although bots only available on Black Ops and Black Ops II)
violent in video game in my opinion is necessary but i agree that solely rely your game in excessive blood and gore is lazy. Check out Soldier of Fortune: Payback (2007) for a perfect example. I love how Spec Ops: The Line put violence and gore as part of the core story (the horror of war), the game just couldn't work without it.
Same thing for Bioshock series (i love that Irrational finally put decapitation on Bioshock Infinite), The Walking Dead: A Telltale Game, GTA IV, Max Payne series, The Darkness (only the first), Mass Effect series, Red Dead Redemption, Dishonored, Deus Ex Human Revolution, MGS4, Dead Space series, and Call of Duty: Black Ops series. These are violent, M-rated games that have amazing story, interesting characters, and well done gameplay.
i'm still waiting for a game engine that not only produce photorealistic graphics, but also produce an environment that behave like a real world. Maybe Fox Engine would up for the task.
isn't it obvious that Beyond: Two Souls would be better? Better animation, better lightning, better particle effects, and ultimately better facial animation and voice acting.
