Their starting lineup will have a healthy brian roberts, nick markakis, adam jones, d lee, vlad, reynolds (who will hit 40 hr's even though he'll K 200 times) and wieters at catcher. They will put up plenty of runs this year. It's all on their young staff, If showalter has any more magic in him and get that staff to produce, i could def see them making a run for a .500 record

The orioles put some thump in their lineup this offseason. You got Vlad and they also signed Mark Reynolds earlier in the offseason. The modern day Rob Deer. Sure he'll bat .230 and strike out 200 times, but he'll also hit you 40 home runs and drive in 100 rbi's, and that was in the NL west where you had to play in ballparks like SD, SF, and LA. Not the ban boxes that camden yards, fenway and tropicana are. I don't know who's gonna pitch for them, but they'll be fun to watch hit.
both uncharted's were great games, but lets be real, there's only TWO in the franchise. You can't be on ANY "best franchise of all time" list with 2 games out. Especially when its competition is a franchise like zelda that's been out for over two decades, and what 10 consoles (including hand helds)? If this is a franchise that goes on for years to come we can reopen this debate but right now it's no contest, and i LOVE the Uncharted games. And knowing Naughty Dog, Uncharted 3 will be the last one in the series and they'll go on to something new next gen (Crash Bandicoot 1-3 on PS1, Jax and Daxter 1-3 on PS2, and now Uncharted 1-3 on PS3. Maybe they'll come out with an Uncharted racing like the other 2. lol).
All i know is 3 years ago Phillip Rivers basically blew out his knee in the 2nd round of the playoffs, had arthroscopic surgery to clear what was reported to be "a sprained/partially torn MCL" the day after that game, one week later he played in the AFC championship. After that game was over it was revealed that he completely tore his ACL, which is a much more serious injury. I'm not here to question Cutler, but hmmm? And i don't want to hear about Lovie Smith pulling him, do you think Phillip Rivers complained on the sideline or in the locker room that his knee was sore?
He better go home tonight and take a hammer to his knee to MAKE SURE that it's severly damaged, cause if it's not, he might as well pack up cause no man in any locker room will respect him, believe in him, or have confidence in him to lead a team ever again.
Here's the Rivers story for those who forgot

He's definitely good but it's unfair to judge him when they play the lakers seeing as they have a senior citizen playing pg and trying to guard him. He's great against LA, and good against athletic pg's
andyboiii
against Chris Paul and the Hornets this year
29 points 10 assists
against Boston
31 points 6 assists
25 points 11 assists
against Utah 22 points 7 assists 6 rebounds
against Chicago
28 points 10 assists
you must have missed him this year, he plays great against the more athletic PG's too ;) you don't realize how fast he is until you actually go see him play, I got a chance to see him when they went up against the Lakers last year in the playoffs and dude was a blur on the court
Oh i didn't mean to make it sound like he's only good against the lakers. I watch him play. My point is that when he goes against the Lakers (fisher in particular), he's just "looks" on another level. He can put up similar numbers against equal talented pg's, but it doesn't jump off the screen and give you that "WOW" factor that it does when he goes against slower pg's. He looks out of this world against fisherHe's definitely good but it's unfair to judge him when they play the lakers seeing as they have a senior citizen playing pg and trying to guard him. no cause those guys were great quarterbacks. Matt ryan is a great game manager. there's a difference. You take their running game away and put it all on Matt Ryan he can't do it. he's not good enough. I've been saying it for years, but nobody listens. All the "experts" sweat him and say he's so great. He's a better version of Trent Dilfer. Is that good enough to win a super bowl? of course. As long as the offense isn't built around him the way it was Marino, Manning and all the other greats of all time. Maybe now all the "experts" will see the light and quit jocking this dude.[QUOTE="sixringz1"]
[QUOTE="monkeytoes61"]Uh oh. Is Matt Ryan going to be the next Dan Marino/Peyton Manning/Fran Tarkenton?

He's still a young qb. He's not great but a pretty good quarterback. He has 8 career comebacks and 13 game winning drives with 3 years under his belt. Not many average qb can say they have that record under their belt.
I know my post sounded like i hate the guy but i don't. I wish the best for him. Those 4th qtr drives and comebacks are all in games that are close that he can manage throughout the game. He's definitely good enough to make a couple plays in the end, but i'm talking throughout the game. The name peyton manning and marino were brought up. Those guys are the primary 1st (and 2nd for that matter) option for their teams. The D knows it, the fans know it, everyone watching knows it, and they are still able to produce and be all time greats. When the running game is eliminated, and when the game is then put on Matt Ryan's shoulders he quite simply isn't good enough to handle that. He's an average qb when the spotlight is on him. It was evident in the saints game a few weeks ago when turner got shut down, and even more so tonight.
I'm not saying he can't get better, i know he's still young, and i hope he does. But all these analysts and experts were refferring to this guy as the next Tom Brady this year, and it irritated the hell out of me because i've watched with my own eyes that if you eliminate the running game he's an average qb, but yet the experts don't see that

Which streak is more impressive, Brett Favre's 297 consecutive starts or Cal Ripken Jr.'s 2,632 consecutive games played?
While I think Favre's streak is very impressive, I'd have to give the nod to Ripken. Playing basically everyday for a 4 month period for 17 seasons is just mind boggling in my opinion. What is your guy's take on the two streaks?
baseball is a 6 month season not 4, unless i misinterpreted your commentI genuinely don't like this dude anymore. For years now i've supported this guy and said he was the best player in the league (just not in the last 2 minutes). I always put him above Kobe, but the hell with that. I'm on team Kobe at this point. This guy keeps putting his foot deeper and deeper in his mouth. He messed up with the way the whole "decision" went down, and it just keeps getting worse. He's trash talking to the Clv bench, players and coaches. he says to Craig Sager after the game I "just continue the GREATNESS for myself here in Miami". It just never stops. I am so sick of him. Can he carry himself with even an OUNCE of class at this point and get off his third person speaking high horse? It's absolutely absurd. Is he a great player? of course. But he lost a supporter and gained a hater in me, for whatever that's worth. I'll go with Kobe over him for now, and Durant in the future from here on out.
Hey monty don't get this post twisted, your boy still couldn't hold Jordan's jock :P
