This laker team has MAYBE one more run in them after this year unless they get younger. This team is getting exposed. They look old, slow and unathletic. So i thought to myself they aren't that old in terms of age. Their main core (minus fisher) is all 31 or younger. But it's not about age anymore, its about years in the league. Kobe and Fisher have been in the league for 14 years (to put that in perspective,Jordan played 15 yrs TOTAL, and two of those yrs he played less than 20 games). The rest of their core have all been in the league for AT LEAST 9 yrs (minus Bynum), and they've played A LOT of playoff games which only adds to it. Your body only gives you so many years. Look at all the high school guys that came out around the same time as Kobe. Garnett, Jermaine O'Neal, McGrady, etc. are all in their early 30's but their bodies aren't responding like they used to. I still think LA will win this series cause i'm not sure OK has the experience needed to win a MUST game in LA, but i could be dead wrong on that. It should be interesting.

When Scoop Jackson left Slam magazine and came to ESPN in 2006he wrote an intro article discussing his views on sports in a wide variety of topics. I'm sure if you search his name on ESPN you can probably come across the article. It was a list of topics that started with the words "I believe..." (ie., i believe so and so is the best player in the league). The one that stuck out to me the most and i fully believe is when he said "I believe there WILL be another Michael Jordan, but there will NEVER be another Larry Bird". There are no white americans now that can even consistantly be an All Star let alone an all time great (Nash is "North America", but i'm not counting him). And if you look at the college ranks over the last decade, some of the best white COLLEGE players don't translate in the League (Reddick, Morrison, Hansborough, etc), and i don't see that changing any time soon. I know this was a little off topic but it just reminded me of that article

i love pacman but hes as much to blame for the fight not happenin as prettyboy is and frankly the only reason someone doesnt want to have bloodtests is because they are doin somethin they shouldnt thats gonna show up on said tests results so go ahead pacman sue prettyboy and i hope to god the judge orders you to take a blood test to determine if youve be "wronged"

-DirtySanchez-

based on some of these posts i don't think people know the details of this. Pac NEVER, let me repeat that, NEVER said he wouldn't take a blood test. He simply said he wouldn't take it right before the fight because he feels it could weaken him. Now whether or not that's true is debatable, but in a sport like boxing, where the mental is as important as the physical, if Pac "believed" it would weaken him, that's a major problem for him. He stated he would take a test right after the fight, the next morning, the following week, etc. And trust me there is NO WAY he could take a steroid or HGH that could help him in a late night fight on a Saturday night, and be clean as a whistle the following day when tested. Floyd wouldn't agree to that, which is cowardly but we all know that about him already. IF and i mean IF he beats Mosley there will be no excuses. The drug thing will be the first thing on the table during negotiations, rather than some ploy brought up at the 11th hour to get out of the fight like it was last time.

He won't even beat Mosley so it won't matter. Lets be real here, take a look at the guy's resume. His signature victory is either hatton, corrales or judah. Not exactly Hagler vs Hearns or Ali vs Frazier. Those are the only "quality" and i use that term VERY LOOSELY, opponents he's ever beat that were in their prime. It's very easy to be great when you go up against sub par opponents. He's no different than a high school kid being Mr Basketball in the state of Meine or Mr Hockey in the state of Florida - WHO'S YOUR COMPETITION! And my opinion of him won't change til he fights and beats elite level fighters. If he can somehow beat Mosley that will be a step, but even that is pushing it, cause although he's the best fighter he's ever fought, Mosley is 38 and years removed from his prime. His legacy as an all time great will rest on his next 2 fights. IF, and i meant IF, he beats Mosley he HAS TO fight Pac. But we all know he won't. He'll complain about the color of pac's shorts or something creating a glare with the lights and blinding him. lol

This was a close game but lakers still lost :( What really pissed me off was LeBJ rapping during the game and IMO that's very immature and I wished Ron Ron would have knocked him out because of that.

Solid_Link22

He was rapping to a song SPECIFICALLY made for HIM and HIS movie. Man let Drake, Kanye, Lil Wayne and Eminem make a song for MY movie, i'd be rapping to it all day.

[QUOTE="sixringz1"]

this has been all over sports radio over here for the last few weeks, just not the EXACT details involving Crittenton. There were reports of Gilbert keeping guns in the locker room. It's actually good to see that this is the reason for the guns, because there was another rumor floating around the DC area that was kind of scary if you think of it. I'm not sure how many of you all heard this, but there were reports that Shaq was creeping with Gilbert Arenas' fiancee (that was apparently the final nail in the coffin with Shaq's marriage once his wife found out). And the first rumors of him having a gun in his locker surfaced right around the time Cleveland played the Wiz in DC back in late November. So of course you had a lot of callers on sports radio throwing their theories out there that it wasn't a "coincidence" that he happened to have guns in his locker when Cleveland and Shaq came to town. I never bought all that but it's still scary to think about it like that. Either way there's been a lot of smoke over Gilbert this year, on and off the court. If the Wiz could find ANYONE to take on his contract i think it's a safe bet they'd trade him in a heartbeat

Tjeremiah1988

:lol: I dont know about all that and Shaq but yes, D.C is rather a dangerous place to roam.

Yeah i didn't buy into that one either, but it was something that was talked about on local radio on more than one occasssion. It wasn't just some random story i heard word of mouth from some friend. It was an interesting theory. Glad to see it wasn't that. What's a guy with a 100 million dollar contract doing betting with a guy who is probably making the league minimum at this point and will be lucky to be in the D league next year. Gambling rule number one, always bet withe someone of equal financial status because the wins and losses mean the same to each person. Crittenton isn't dumb, he knows his bball money is gonna be running out soon. If he gambles with someone worth 100 mill you can bet he aint just gonna let it slide, he wants his money. Gilbert needs to learn

[QUOTE="Yagr_Zero"]Just happened. Urban Meyer, coach of the University of Florida has announced he will be stepping down due to health and family. Meyer led the Gators to two National Championships and led Utah to a #4 ranking in his last season there before heading over to Florida. No official story yet, but here's evidence. It's just amazing. Edit: Here's a better story.

Man i know Notre Dame is kicking themselves now. If they knew he was available they wouldn't have got Kelly. Notre would have thrown all the money in the world at Meyer, which i'm sure would be enough to help him with his health. My guess is within a month or two he'll be an NFL coach. We'll see

Brilliant move, when of course i see Mayweather being the pansy as i expected him to duck this eventually. X360PS3AMD05
Amen. Anybody who REALLY pays attention to boxing knows that insiders have been reporting for months that people close to mayweather don't want him to take this fight. Hell there was a whole article on this in sports illustrated right after pac man beat cotto. It's a clever move by Mayweather to get out of the fight, or IF the fight happens, EVERYTHING will be on his terms which could easily be looked at as a psychological advantage for him. You can't just start making rules up along the way. Boxing has a strict drug policy, if you are doing something they will catch you (ask James Toney). At the end of the day, no matter how anyone wants to spin it, if this fight doesn't happen Mayweather's rep will be CEMENTED within the sport in the same way Roy Jones Jr's. is. As a guy with a lot of talent who ducked the best competition when the opportunity presented itself. I can't see anyway this fight doesn't happen. Floyd has to know this. He can't be this much of a #%^#.
