Yes because Zaza Pachullia is the reason the Hawks were gonna beat the Cavs:roll:

[QUOTE="X360PS3AMD05"]Dang, i was hoping this series would be a challenge for the Lakers.......^ as for MJ not getting called, nobody calls fouls at the end of a game just like with Fisher against the Spurs. I wouldn't say it's rigged......being a Laker fan it's hard to admit that we did get some favorable calls against the Kings but hey we won, officiating is always iffy in basketball :? You find a way to win anyway......AHUGECAT
Yeah but that foul should've been called. Not to mention the refs were after the Jazz the whole game, especially in terms of shot clock violations. The Jazz were a better team than the Bulls that year but Stern couldn't have his number one player lose. I do understand where Stern is coming from though (he needs profit and ratings).
Well if Utah would have played some D instead of letting jordan march right down the lane for a layup the posession before, and then come back on defense and if malone wouldn't have got the ball stolen by jordan than maybe that shot doesn't matter. Jordan single handedly won that game in the last minute on offense and defense. People may remember that shot, but he had his hand in every part of the last few posessions. And i can say that confidently being one of the few people on this board who is actually old enough to have a distinct memory of that play and have the overall knowledge of basketball at that time. Not saying you are one of those people, but there are a lot of people on this board who comment on jordan and they were still in diapers when he won his first title, meaning they were still in elementary school when that shot happened. I don't want hear anything about jordan from those people. It's the same reason why you won't hear me comment on magic and bird, i can give an opinion, but i'll never argue, because although i saw both of them play in the finals, i wasn't of age to appreciate their talent and all the aspects of the game itselfI've seen your post the past few days and just sat back and laughed cause i don't generally comment unless it's with someone that actually knows what they are talking about. But i couldn't let that one slide. Anybody who knows basketball, or sports for that matter, and especially THAT GAME, knows that game was won on the previos posession when Jordan stole the ball from Malone, and the subsequent plays before that. A game that close never comes down to one play. If Malone does what a "superstar" is supposed to do, and make critical shots at the end of games to help his team win, that shot would have never happened. Not only didn't malone make the shot, he didn't even get a shot off. Meaning no chance at an offensive rebound, shooting fouls, loose ball fouls, etc. He got it stolen, and it was over right there. That push off excuse is lame and real tired at this point.
what's going on Mont13 i thought you went into hiding cause you weren't liking what you were seeing thus far. Which if the case, i wouldn't blame you. lol. As for the Jordan post it's "the best player SINCE jordan" not "best player next to Jordan". If that was title you know i would of jumped in cause to put anyone next to the guy is just a joke.@ sixringz, What's up with the President of the Jordan Jockers club? Surprised you haven't jumped in on the "Who best player next to MJ thread???
I haven't gone anywhere, still reading most of the comments. I decided to take break for awhile, after my "Kobe/Laker Watch"fest or extravaganza!;)
What do I think so far....I think AHUGECAT gets my vote for Kobe Hater of the Decade award, he's quite entertaining though! I think whoever called him "AHUGEPUSS" has a Great sense of humor!, hilarious, made my day!
Oh, about the playoffs...The Lakers don't have an easy road to the finals, Houston has a well rounded team that could upset them, LA will have to bring it every game, LA still doesn't look tough enough for me, there bench looks weak overall so far, imo,...I'd like to see Powell and Brown get more minutes. Denver will be really tough also.
I think Kobe's elbow was intentional, but in the context of him and Artest wrestling for position pretty enthusiastically, I would not suspend Kobe, but with David "Stearn" I'd be surprised if he lets Kobe slide.
I think Battier can't guard Kobe either, but what he does is probably the best way to "guard" him. He usually holds his ground, doesn't go for fakes, trys to stick a hand in his face and hope Kobe misses. First game Kobe wasn't as successful, last night he was. But it wasn't really Battier "stopping" Kobe in game 1.

As for Kobe, i think he will get off on the suspension cause i saw another angle that showed he elbowed Artest in the shoulder. It didn't make it to the head. So i think that will save him. A fine and a flagrant fould will prob be all he gets. Which is cool by me cause i didn't think Howard should have been suspended either. But i figured if he went down the precedent had been set so that kobe would have to as well. But after seeing the angle that shows him hitting his shoulder i think he will get off on a technicality on that one.
And the final thing, and as much as i follow basketball, i have to admit i slept on the Nuggets. Maybe cause i'm used to the team they've been for the last 5 years, maybe it's cause i live on the east coast and never see them play, and even when they are on tv i'm sleeping, but after watching them now. They are legit. They have 3 athletic bigs that can run jump and defend any other teams bigs, they got a legit scorer in melo, they have all the sudden the new up and coming Bruce Bowen in Dahntay Jones. I never thought i'd see someone put the clamps on chris paul the way he did, you have a lights out shooter coming off the bench and all lead by the best point guard left in the playoffs, that's a scary squad. If both teams play up to potential the lakers will win, but if the lakers keep playing the way they've been thus far (giving up 20 point lead in the 4th qtr against Utah, coming out flat against houston in game 1, etc), they could be in trouble.
[QUOTE="Tjeremiah1988"]Kobe just said if he wants to play rough then he'll do the same. It was intentional, obviously if you look at the replayandyboiiithis wasn't even that bad although kobe did give him a shot, it wasn't as bad as Dwight Howards elbow. Ron artest is a baby that just wanted to cause a scene. They didn't suspend Rondo for throwing Hinrich or slapping brad miller across the face so I don't see kobe getting a suspension No i don't think he should be suspended either but you can't compare this to rondo cause it's a different play. YOu can only compare it to Howard which was a deliberate elbow under the basket. It doesn't matter if it looked bad or not, the bottom line that stern will look at was "intent". The intent was to throw an intentional elbow. I didn't think howard should have been suspended but he was. The precedent has been set just last week. It is fresh in everyone's mind. They will have a hard time explaining it if he's not suspended. They can't say something like "he didn't even hit him hard" cause that doesn't matter. It's intent that is the issue
oh yeah they just showed another replay. that was an obvious intentional elbow. The ruling on that oughta be interesting.
ANd you can throw the ball off the backboard and catch. That's how moses malone used to get a lot of his boards in the old days. You can't shoot an air ball and catch. that's traveling
By the way where is Mont13? This is the guy that had the year long thread dedicated to the Lakers andused to comment on off days of games between the bobcats and the hawks. But now were into the playoffs and i haven't seen him post. Anyone know what happened?
[QUOTE="sixringz1"]
Kobe has a really good shot of being suspended next game. The precedent has already been set in these playoffs. Dwight Howard threw an intentional elbow and he was gone the next game. And he's a superstar and got no special treatment. They only showed one replay. I'd like to see more angles, but this could potentially be bad news for LA in game 3
AHUGECAT
If he is not suspended, I (along with millions of others) will stop watching the NBA. If he isn't suspended then they should just call the NBA the World Wide Wrestling Basketball Federation, because even Vince couldn't rig something like this.
I wish they would have shown more replays but from what i saw it looked intentional. And if that's the case you can't suspend Howard last week and not suspend Kobe this week. Personally I didn't think howard should have been suspended and i don't think kobe should. It's the playoffs. But the precedent has been set.i'drathergive them flagrant fouls or even fine them but to take them out of games just diminshes the playoffs in my eyesKobe has a really good shot of being suspended next game. The precedent has already been set in these playoffs. Dwight Howard threw an intentional elbow and he was gone the next game. And he's a superstar and got no special treatment. They only showed one replay. I'd like to see more angles, but this could potentially be bad news for LA in game 3
look at the reviews. It's not even close. The show has been the best baseball game for 3 years. The reason 2k is selling better is cause it's on 2 consoles and 2k is a bigger name than the show. But trust sales doesn't mean quality
i am the furthest thing from a Lakers fan but everyone needs to calm down a bit. This was expected. It happens every year. A team that finishes their first round series and sits around for a week always come out flat. It happens year in and year out. Sometimes they can overcome it and pull it out, sometimes they can't, either way a sluggish game 1 after a week off should be expected. I wouldn't worry about the shots missed as much as the effort. They had open looks they just missed. They need to play with more energy which i am 99% positive they will. However if that 1% shows up like they did tonight then you have a problem. I still see lakers in 6
Indeed. I was just telling andyboii on last fm that alot of the lakers jumpers looked flat tonight, which I see as a result of the long layoff. They had looks, but they were just a bit flat and not going down. don't be shocked if the same thing happens in Cleveland tomorrow. I think they will win cause Atlanta is atrocious on the road, but Cleveland more than likely won't be sharp, at least to start off. I could be wrong and they could blitz from the opening tip, but more often than not in these cases teams just need a game to get back into form. I've seen it for years.
