[QUOTE="TheSystemLord1"][QUOTE="sith_acolyte15"] [QUOTE="sith_acolyte15"][QUOTE="TheSystemLord1"][QUOTE="sith_acolyte15"] By quick, I don't mean from last season. I'm referring to the last few seasons as a whole. Tressel was 4-0 in BCS bowl games, and considered one of those "big game" coaches. Now, he is 4-3 and people are starting to question him. That's what I'm talking about.sith_acolyte15
If you think about it within that context, then the blame falls solely on the Big 10 and its total inability to field a competitive schedule.

 The Big Ten isn't as "bad" as everyone makes it out to be. Seriously, I really wish people would start criticizing the ACC and the Pac-10 (minus USC) as much as they do the Big Ten.

I agree people should talk about the ACC as well, but that is a basketball conference and it always has been. The big 10 is a football conference and i hate to break it to you, but THEY ARE as bad as everyone says. This is a conference that is not adjusting to the times. There is too much speed and athleticism in other conferences and playing that big bruising type of style that the big ten plays doesn't work in today's game. Sure they may have a big win from time to time, but those will be few and far between.

And as for tonight's game, i don't think this is a good showing for ohio state as much as it is that the big 12 might have been overrated this year. Ok State loses to Oregon, Texas Tech gets waxed by Ole Miss, and now Texas needs a last second touchdown to beat the resident BCS punching bag of the last few years. I already thought Florida would beat Oklahoma, but now i'm begining to think it will be a blowout

[QUOTE="sixringz1"]Now people can stop with that ridiculous undefeated nonsense i've been hearing. They play in the ACC not the WAC or some mid level conference, there is way too much talent in that conference to go unbeatenXBebop
The Illini d*mn near went undefeated in the Big 10 back in 2005

you really didn't just compare the big ten to the acc did you? That's like comparing the big ten vs sec in football. They've been doing the acc/big 10 challenge for nearly a decade now and the ACC wins EVERY YEAR

i thought these were supposed to be bold predictions. I'm talking about predictions that will make people's jaws drop. I got a few

-The yankees will NOT make the playoffs this year.

-Kobe bryant will never win a championship as THE MAN (which means he won't be winning anytime soon. I love saying stuff like this cause it gets people fired up in here)

-Unless they have to play the Colts in the AFC championship game, teh Ravens will get to the Super Bowl

-The Cubs will finally win the world series

-UNC will not only not go undefeated, they won't even win the ACC this year (Wake Forest), however they will win the NCAA Title

-With or w/out percy harvin, Florida will beat Oklahoma by at least 2 touchdowns

-Floyd Mayweather will come out of retirement this time next year to fight Pacquiao only to get knocked out by the 6th round

-And finally, despite his drop in play, Roger Federer will find a way to pass pete Sampras in most grand slams won in tennis history

Here is the bottom line. I grew up during the jordan era. I saw him win all his rings and remember them vividly (i'm in my late 20's). Jordan is the best player ever. Lebron James has more physical talent than anyone who EVER PICKED UP A BASKETBALL - Period. Now does that mean he will be the greatest player ever, who knows? But if he reaches his full potential it will be frightening.

don't count on him come playoff time cause we all know how that's worked. So you have the highest paid position player and the highest paid pitcher on the same team with the common denominator that they are both recognized as chokers in the playoffs. I can only imagine come october when CC gives up 6 runs in 3 innings and arod goes 0-5 w/ 3 K's. This could get ugly

Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao. Fact.Master_Live
Yup, and i got manny in 10. You can make an argument Delahoya won the fight against mayweather (was a split decision), where manny completely dominated oscar. So unless the TC is correct (which i find hard to believe), comparable competition and a long layoff gives manny the edge

[QUOTE="odin2019"]

I don't see whats so great about Oklahoma and I think USC has the better team. Oklahoma isn't a bad team but I don't look at them as the number 2 team and simply think that they were put in the title game instead of USC so that away USC doesn't have to travel or florida doesn't have to travel.

Also, Boise State 12-0 and there not #2 or in the top 5 for that matter. I'm glad there not because they didn't play anybody.

And let me get this straight Alabama is gonna play Utah in their title....what are they trying to do? give the title to Alabama? I think Alabma should have a better opponent and I think Utah and boise state were made for each other.

I don't get this either Ohio State gets to play Texas but Texas Tech gets to play Ole Miss WTF? I can see why you wouldn't have Texas play Texas Tech again since they have already played each other put I think Texas Tech deserves a much better opponent and I think Alabama against them would make for a much better match up.

It's obvious you are a casual college football fan so i will keep it simple. The BCS is a screwed up system but it's the system that is in place. Once you understand the way the system works and what teams are allowed to play others you will figure out the answer to all your questions. The bowls have contracts w/ certain leagues it's how it always has been, it's nothing new. Oklahoma one loss to Texas and plays in stronger conference USC one loss to Or State and plays in weaker conference That's why they are playing over USC
