[QUOTE="sixringz1"]I would LOVE to see him play for the Knicks and i'm not even a knicks fan. But as a bball fan i would love to see him play in D'antoni's system. They guy already is a 30, 7, and 7 guy on a team that plays slow grind it out defensive basketball. You put him in an uptempo open court type system his ability would be showcased beyond belief. I personally think he's the best player in the world as is right now (w/ kobe right behind him. Just my opinion i know all the kobe lovers will jump down my throat fot that. lol). But in that system his numbers would be astronomical. I honestly believe the guy would average a triple double for the season with EASE. Now i don't know if he will win any championships or anything but from a pure entertainment standpoint, i can't think of another person in the HISTORY of basketball, that would be able to get the most out of a style of play like thatCloud_InsuranceYou apparently don't know much about the history of basketball then. And Lebron isn't better than Kobe, his defense isn't nearly as good. And Kobe's defense isn't/wasn't close to Jordan's... I know plenty about the history of basketball considering i'm sure i've been watching longer than most people on this board since i'm older than the majority of people. Jordan is the best player ever, Kobe is the best player of this gen, and lebron BY FAR has more physical tools than either of them. All i'm saying is i think his tools would be most showcased in a system like D'antoni's. THats it
Because it's............New York..........and it's not Cleveland :| He wants to be a big balla shot calla  Kickin it with Jay-Z in the 40 40 club homie 8) Oh and there's a little thing called money. One thing i don't agree with though is MSG, i think it's a dump and they need to replace it like the Lakers did with the forum. I think he has elevated his game this year by not shooting as many 3's and taking it to the hole more often, and improving his free throws. The guys physical abilities are out of this world and are unparalled by ANYONE EVER. That doesn't mean the guy is the best ever by any means, but when you combine his tools with that system his NUMBERS would be scary. I don't know if that will lead to championships, MVP's, etc. and i don't care. All i'm talking about is entertainment purposes only.
If you call a 17-time defending champion refusing to accept a 40% share of a fight purse for his belt "ducking" then I just can't see any reason to continue this discussion. Again, Jones knew his demands were absurd and knew that no champion would ever agree to give the challenger to his title 60% of the pie. Face it, the man didn't want to risk his record and did what he always did, ended up dominating a nobody rather than face a dangerous opponent.DarkElf2112
Amen!!!
That fight was in '93. Hopkins has chased Jones ever since. How can you say there was no one to fight in the middleweight division? It has been the premier division in boxing for the last 20 years! And why wouldn't Jones take a 50/50 split? I'll tell you why, Hopkins had about 17 consecutive defenses of his title going at the time, that's why. Damn right Hopkins wanted at least equal money! Jones knew a champion would never accept less so therefore he could duck a now more seasoned Hopkins while looking like a big man. Meanwhile he takes on the "mighty" Clinton Woods instead. :roll:DarkElf2112
I fully agree w/ everything you've said. I've been saying this for years. He beat Hopkins when he was raw and fresh out the pen. He also beat Trinidad who hasn't been relevant for nearly a decade. He won a controversial decision against Tarver, who then split his wig the next time they fought. If you look at Jone's history, the only "name" fighter he beat while he and they were both in their prime was James Freakin Toney. You have got to be kidding me. He faced mandatory fights in divisions with no fighters. Explain to me how he and hopkins can fight in the same weight class early in their career and Hopkins can go on to fight big name fighter after big name fighter, but Roy Jones fights people as notbale as ME. Come on now. A fighter's greatness is not determined by how many wins you have, it's determined by how many of those wins came against elite competition. When you think of the elite fighters of the past 20 years they all have their showcase fight, the fight they will be remembered for, but Jones doesn't have that. His pay per view numbers were consistantly some of the worst in history. The sad thing is i'm not saying he couldn't have beat great fighters, the problem is, that for whatever reason he chose to fight "mandatory" competition rather than searching for the big fight. I already mentioned it, but someone has to explain to me how Hopkins and Jones fought at the same weight class early in their career and were often within one weight class of each other throughout their entire career, and Hopkins will always fight big names, while Jones fought a bunch of nobodys. Overrated PERIOD
Ah yes, I loved Crash Bandicoot when I was a kid. I think it was the first PlayStation game I ever played so the series does have some sentimental value. I downloaded Crash 1-3 on the PS3 a while back and played through them, very nostalgic. Floppy_Jim
i know this may sound like a dumb question but i've never downloaded any game before so i don't know, but do the downloadable versions play EXACTLY the same as the original. For example, if you set up 2 systems, one with the original disc and the other with the downloadable version, would i be able to tell the 2 apart?
[QUOTE="sixringz1"][QUOTE="MarsGurl08"]First of all it's an amazing program that takes you behind the scenes of some of the greatest fighters in boxing. I love the series and applaud HBO for giving boxing fans a look into the lives of their favorite boxers. What really goes into each fight. The training, the discipline, and more importantly, the real people behind the success. I hope Roy knocks him out. I don't feel Calzaghe is worthy of any praise. To me, he didn't beat Hopkins decisively, it should have been a draw, plus he hasn't fought anyone worthy of going down as one of the greatest boxers in the history of boxing, maybe in England, but not in the world and definitely not in the books. Roy by decision or TKO in the 6th round. PlasticBagger
same could be said for Jones. He hasn't beaten anybody in their prime with the exception of James Toney (whatever that's worth). Hopkins was young and raw when they fought the first time, and joes has ducked him for the better part of the last decade since he knew he would lose. Then he fights trinidad and he hasn't beaten anybody noteworthy since Delahoya (which we all know he didn't win that either). Jones, in my opinion is the most overrated fighter of my lifetime and that includes Tyson. To be a great fighter you have to find great fights. Move up or down a weight class, don't stay in a division with bums. I have no respect for the guy and couldn't care less about this fight. As for 24/7, great show
Calzaghe has been criticised for hiding in Wales all his career.
oh trust me i'm not supporting Calzaghe. My beef is with Jones regardless of who he's fighting
