if you cant find that door on sale I say mod it yourself its steel, really easy to cut and mod. Just take your time measure twice. Then no one else will have that door it will be unique.

you might have to run driversweeper, what you do is uninstall the amd drivers from crontrol panel and reboot in safe mode and run driversweeper and flush all the left over info from the amd drivers. then reboot and install the new drivers, what you have is residual left over from old drivers. The same can be done for nvidia's drivers. http://phyxion.net/item/driver-sweeper.html <--- driversweeper download. On a side note when you guys have problems with you graphic cards go to guru3d.com's forums they way more extensive for videocards. anyway GL make sure you post this forum fixed after you do that.

you can download the release candidate for win 8 right now and check it out if you want, I'm gonna hold on to 7 till I have to upgrade. I have the release candidate installed though and its pretty good. It has it's quirks but it's shaping up to be another good os.

[QUOTE="skinntech"] new phone better pics. this is the top of the case where I had to cut out the fan ports and screw holes. Those reusable templates are worth their weight in gold, I highly reccomend them if you buy a case that you have to mod to fit a radiator. GS550L

May I ask where would one get one of these templates? I've got a 120x3 BIX that I'd like to put back in my case, and having a pre-made 120x3 template would save an awful lot of time.

I picked mine up from frozencpu.com I think there like 5 bucks or something like that.

Ah, I see. Didn't know you were using the RX series. Those are very good with low RPM fans.

I do get what you say about the airbox, and my point wasn't necessarily focused on that, but rather on the impression you were using slim fans. Upon second glance though, they do look like 25mm fans, so that should be good enough. I initially thought you were using slim fans like the Kaze Jyuni Slims. If that were the case, then we do have a problem lol.

EDIT: Just to clarify though, thicker fans don't necessarily mean more noise. In fact, it's quite the opposite, as they would be able to push more CFM at lower RPM's due to the wider fins.

ravenguard90
Do you mean the additional scoop from the thickness because the width of the blade? The slim is the same width as the thicker fans they don't have as much of a scoop though so the depth of the blade is a little smaller then the thicker fan. Also the thicker the fan the bigger the initial push off the blade and that does create more noise, it's really not a big deal unless your like me and hate any and all noise. Its like litterally 3 dba which most people wouldnt even care but I have my case near my bed, and at the same time its like 4cfm between what Im using and the 38mm fan. So in my case it saves space and is quieter at the cost of 4cfm. I cant remember what the math was on 12 cfm to thermal dispertion but it was close to nothing. I think when i figured it all out there really wasnt a huge jump in cooling between 1350rpm fans and the usuall 2k + fans and it's because of the airbox. That airbox is magic.

[QUOTE="skinntech"][QUOTE="C_Rule"]Interested to see how it turns out, but it would look much cleaner if you got rid of that airbox and had all your fans inside the case. ravenguard90

Lol loose the airbox he says. naw the airbox improves the performance way too much with low flow fans.

If you ask me, I would prefer to get some 38mm fans instead of the slim 120's with an airbox. I'm pretty sure the extra static pressure from the wider blades would far outweigh what that airbox can do with low-profile fans.

youd be wrong. Let explain why, when you mount fans directly to the radiator it creates dead zones in the center and around the edges of the fan. The air from the fan hitting the radiator would look like a donut essentially because of these dead zones. What this does is reduce the affected surface of the radiator. Instead of utilizing all of the radiator surface your only using what that donut shape of air is hitting. With an airbox your creating a cubic area of air that contacts the entire surface of the radiator. A faster fan is going to remove heat quicker from a smaller area but in the long run the additional surface space ends up displacing more heat from the fins to the outside of the case. Also its whisper quiet as opposed to using a thicker higher static fan. If the radiator was made with a super dense fan array and needed the static pressure to get air through then I would totally agree. This is one of the biggest reasons I'm using this radiator, it's made to use low pressure the fan array is spread out. http://www.xs-pc.com/products/radiators/rx-series/rx360-triple-fan-radiator/ This thing is gonna be whisper quiet and still keep everything at room temp. I'm thinking of building a shroud right now for the top fans but to be honest It really does not look bad, I kind like the exposed fans.

^ what are you talking about, your specific words are "it would look much cleaner if you GOT RID of that airbox" = get rid of the airbox. I dont mind your opinion and welcome the input just own up to what you say.
