Chi town here I come!

Nah, I ain't talking about Chicago, unfortunately. I'm talking about Chinatown. GTA:CW came out this week and I intend to buy it as soon as I can. I only buy DS games on virtual stores, but the one where I bought most of my games still don't have it. In fact, until now, there's only one virtual store that has it and it's priced R$180 (U$78 ) plus R$5 (U$2) for transportation. I'll wait until next week to see if any other stores will get it, but I will pay this price if I have to. It's not overpriced (as for Brazil's prices) for a new DS game, I paid exactly the same price for Pokemon Diamond and New Super Mario Bros. on their releases, I guess.

I'm still at my grandma's, I'll be leaving tomorrow. I was kinda okay on the tests, here are my expectations:

Portuguese and Literature - 7/10

Geography - 8/10

History - 8/10

Maths - 7/10 (believe me, I thought I was going to get a zero)

Chemistry - 0/10 (if you hate Chemistry throw your arms to the air and wave them like this \o\)

Physics - 6/10

Biology - 7,5/10

I haven't played any game at all since I moved in here, but I'm going home tomorrow. Before I left home, I made some progress on RE4. I last saved next to that door where you can play that shooting game and receive nice speaking miniatures (the first one, in the castle). And remember the last post when I said I was running low on ammo? Now I have something around 30 pistol bullets, 5 sniper rifle bullets, 7 shotgun bullets and something around 100 TMP bullets. Guess I also have one incendiary grenade. But I found a way out, I'll use the sniper rifle scope, a first aid spray can, Ashley's bra and Leon's shoes to make a rocket launcher, like I was MacGyver. Just kidding I'm f*ck*ng scr*w*d. That's it, guys and girls, hope you're all alright.

Song of The Post

Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal

Yes, Smooth Criminal is a Michael Jackson's song, but when you listen to a punky rock 'n' roll ass-kicking motherf***** version it gets way cooler. I found Alien Ant Farm on Last.fm. Add me there if you want, here's my profile. Just lemme know who you are.

Holy week!

Hello everyone, hope you're all well. I haven't posted since March the 7th and that's because of the school tests. They actually started on Thursday, but I spent some good hours of the week reading a stupid book for the Portuguese and Literature test. The book has only 245 pages (being 211 of the story itself), what wouldn't be an issue to worry if the damn thing hadn't arrived two weeks later, just because I paid it on the day after the day I was supposed to. That really pissed me off, for the book came from São Paulo (you might know it, Brazilian biggest city and one of the biggest cities in the whole world) and my town is only 70km (around 43 miles) from São Paulo. Because of the book I haven't played any game since the start of the week but a few hours of GTA San Andreas and Counter-Strike Source. In Resident Evil 4, I have stopped right after Leon and Luis beat a lot of Ganados inside a house. Now I don't know if I should face another El Gigante or a whole bunch of Ganados. Could anyone who have already played RE4 tell me which way is easier? I ain't have much ammo, spent a lot of it in the house...

Yesterday my dad paid us a visit. He's been more absent than usual these last months. He and my mum broke up kinda six years ago and he only appears to give us (me and my sister) some money, take us to stupid places where he hangs out with his friends and we have nothing to do but look at each other praying for the time to pass by faster, watch football on our TV and speak sh*t about my life like "if you worked out, those guys wouldn't have mugged you", "you gotta play basketball, just like me" and the list of preset phrases goes on. Well, I know he's not reading this, but dad, MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS, OKAY!? YOU KNOW SQUAT ABOUT ME! Sounds cold to say it this way, but I don't miss him at all, I love my life how it is.

Next week I'll be at my grandma's from Monday to Thursday because my mum and my sister are going out for a trip in a cruiser and since I have tests next week and I actually don't want to go, she allowed me to stay at my grandma's. And I guess I'll be able to buy my piano keyboard soon, because mum's spending some money on this trip, so I think a keyboard wouldn't be too expensive for her. The best part of this all is that the building where my grandma lives is in the same block as the school, so I'll be able to wake up later and walk less.

Sorry for the long post, but I guess the next won't come soon. Oh, and I hope you had a good Friday the 13th. Have a nice weekend.

Song of The Post

Common - Universal Mind Control (feat. Pharrell)

Just another song stuck in my mind.

Brazil, games and piracy

Hey everyone! How are you guys and girls doing? Hope you're all fine. I don't have nothing important to post and neither any achievement on any game, so since now I have some users tracking me, I'll re-post a blog that I made when no one was tracking me, which I found a good idea.

Again, I'd like to let you all know that Brazil isn't a jungle like many foreign people may think. Brazilians also don't live naked (though it'd be nice if some hot girls did) and the Amazon Rainforest's part of Brazil, and not world's garden. Alright, the Brazilian government doesn't watch our frontiers as they should, but that's not easy when you're the fifth largest country in the world. You say: "USA is larger than Brazil and we can watch our frontiers very well". In the north you've got Canada, in the south you've got Mexico and in both west and east you've got sea.

We've got the sea only in the eastern part of our country. Summing north, south and west, we have frontiers with not less than ten countries. Anyway, let's quit the Geography lesson and go to the post.

If there's a crime that we Brazilians commit and don't pay for is the piracy. I'm not talking about drugs, guns or bio-piracy. I'm talking about games. That's because games prices are absolutely abusive. The taxes on them are over usual and this is what keeps internationally renowned game producers out of Brazil. Almost all the consoles may be modified to run pirated games. Some of them, like the GBA and the DS don't even need to be modified, pirated games work fine on them. The only console that can't run pirated games (until now) is the PS3. But how many Brazilians own a PS3? You could count using your fingers, because the price of the consoles is almost as abusive as the games. Take a look at the numbers:

* Wii: R$1,200 (U$522)
* Xbox 360 Premium 20GB: R$1,700 (U$739)
* PLAYSTATION 3 80GB (it's not PlayStation anymore): R$2,500 (U$1,087)

* PS2 chip mod for running pirated games: R$100 (U$43)
* Wii chip mod for running pirated games: R$200 (U$86)

* Original NDS game: R$140 (U$61)
* Pirated NDS game: R$40 (U$17)
* Original PS2 game: R$120 (U$52)
* Pirated PS2 game: R$8 (U$3)
* Original Wii game: R$170 (U$74)
* Pirated Wii game: R$10 (U$4)

Obs.: 1 real = 2,3 dollars right now/ these prices are an average, so they might not be too accurate.

Take a look at the games sold on discs, enterprises just can't beat piracy. It's a sad reality, but it'll keep like this until the government realize it's losing more money than it would if it decreased taxes for games.

The Ting Tings - That's Not My Name

A pretty addictive song that I hope you like.

Have a good weekend.

Don't blame me, blame society

Well hello there! Before starting anything, I'd like to thank everyone who commented on the last post. If your feelings were real, they surely are helping that buddy and his family. I'm not replying any of them, but that doesn't mean I didn't appreciate them.

I've been playing Resident Evil 4 and already got Ashley, and now I'm at the farm again. Got Kingdom Hearts II, it seems to be a great game since everyone talks about it, but I think its graphics are poor and the game is not much but an average game (except for the opening video). Don't know if things are going to change after I go back to "Disney's world", so let's just wait and see. A pal of mine installed GTA San Andreas on some computers of my course classroom, and we played it a little (the teacher is a nice guy). I'm going to install it on my PC, since my friend found out a way to install it pretty fast and the game folders are only 500 MB. We had a lot of fun for sure.

Talking about criminality (GTA if you have the worst memory in all the world), I was mugged yesterday. I was coming back home from my friend's mum's working place, where I studied with her (not her mum), riding my bicycle on the avenue I live in (kinda four or five blocks from home) at 8.30pm or so, when two guys on a bike appeared by my side and one said "get off the bike". I looked to him and I guess my facial expression was like "WTF?", it was the first time I was actually mugged, the other one was an attempt, which I was able to get through without having anything taken. Where did I stop? Oh, OK, I gave him a "WTF?" look and then he repeated, "get off the bike already". So, I got off it and he got on. He said "gimme the backpack", so I replied "only books inside it..." and then they both went away and their shapes faded into the dark desert streets. My cell phone was inside my backpack, plus, the school books are really expensive, so it wasn't that bad. Don't know if they had a gun or a knife, but I didn't want to pay to see.

That was one block from Military Police quarter, so that was my first stop. I told the cop what happened and he said they couldn't take note of what happened because I didn't have the bike receipt at the moment and neither was with one of my parents. He told me to ring 190 (police) and tell'em where it happened, when it happened, how were the guys like and how was my bike like. I wasn't too nervous, maybe because I was at a police quarter, that place feels secure. I kissed my bike goodbye, I'm probably never seeing it again. It was a pretty basic bike, but I'll miss it, since going to the school on foot sucks.

Kanye West feat. Chris Martin - Homecoming

I'm not into hip hop or whatever you call this sort of music, but I love this song mainly because of the piano. Just found out this Chris Martin guy is Coldplay's lead man.

"Do you think about me now and then?

Do you think about me now and then?

'Cause I'm coming home again

Maybe we could start again"

May the good spirits watch over you, Roney

Yesterday I received a bad new that shocked me. A guy from my classroom had brain death on Sunday. He was two years older than the rest of the classroom and used to use drugs and really weren't into school at all. Although, he was very funny and crazy, a little aggressive in the past, but I guess he was trying to change. He was always complaining of headaches, but didn't tell his parents because he was afraid an exam could possibly show the use of drugs. We still don't have all information about the case, but it seems like he had a clot in the brain, and during a party, a brain vein broke and I guess I don't need to say anything else. His hearts was still beating until today's afternoon, but there was no hope left. His organs are going to be donated, and I guess he'll keep living in other people somehow.

Honestly, I didn't like him much, but not to the point of hating him. Some friends of mine were closer friends with him, and they cried a lot, with all the reason, of course. It was a sad day, and I know it'll keep like that for long. But now, we have two things we can do: pray a lot for him and his family and study to become a decent politician who'll fight against drugs. Something that's tough to accept is that the world won't stop because of someone's demise, and it makes me wonder how it's gonna be when I'm gone, how people will react and stuff. Guess I'll be able to see everything and even know how people really feel about me, but I hope this day don't come in the next 80 years.

Song of the Post

Coldplay - Viva La Vida

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvgZkm1xWPE

English teacher played this song for today's class and that was really creepy... Plus, this song is beautiful and gave the moment the right soundtrack.

Roney, hope the good spirits watch over you so you can learn and grow aiming for perfection. You haven't died, you just freed yourself from humans world, that's all. It's not the end, it's just a new phase.

Some new stuff I'd like to let you know

Hey everybody, hope you're doing fine. I decided to make some changes related to my profile and mainly to my blog here, so I thought it would be a good idea to let you know.

Crusades

After I got some other stuff done, I'll be looking for new friends here in GameSpot. I'll start by the friends of my most active friends, etc, etc. It's always good to expand our horizons, isn't it?

Redoing Reviews

I'll redo most of my reviews and probably decrease some games scores, so they could fit better the reality.

Replying Comments

Starting from the last post, I'll be replying the comments I receive on my blog through message. Doing so, people won't have to always come back just to see if their comments were replied. And also, we could even start a chat depending on the issue. I'll reply Click! And they're gone's comments right away.

Song of The Post

In the end of every post I'll leave a song that either is in my head or I like (most likely to be the one that's in my head). You don't have to check it out, just do it if you want.

So, since this is the end of the post, here's the song.

Slipknot - Duality

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQ0mfqpraII

This is one of the Knot's songs that sucked me into the band and was in my head last night. I'm not a huge fan, but I surely like a lot of songs, I even bought the album Vol. 3 The Subliminal Verses. Slipknot is spelled wrong on the video title, and I guess it's an attempt to avoid the video from being removed. Don't know if you realized this too, but lately it's been pretty hard to find official video clips on YouTube, don't know what those guys think they're doing. That's it, have a nice day.

Click! And they're gone

I bet you're thinking "this guy again? boring..." but Brazilian government pays people for comments on my blog, so let's type some smart stuff! OK, they won't pay you anything, but just pretend they will and comment. Please? Uh... You wanna see your parents again? And if you like going straight to the point, please skip the paragraph below.

I played more Resident Evil yesterday and today, made some progress. Now what worries me more than the enemies is the little amount of ammo, I've run out of ammo a couple times already, I'm kinda "shoot before asking" type. Thanks God I have my brave knife and my powerful kicks, 'cause I'd be lost if I could count only on the fire weapons. The good part of having already played the game before is that I know where I'll find certain things. For example, I knew when I was going to meet Mr. Chainsaw, and I taught him a little lesson again. When I left the house I already know he'd come, and I could see him. I walked a little forward and he turned his chainsaw on and started coming with another pal of his. Fist I fired my shotgun twice toward them, just as a warning, they didn't stop, so I threw a grenade that exploded the other guy, but that bag head is hard to die and was still alive. I shot his face a couple times with my handgun and when he was stunned a kicked him down. Then, I knifed him to death. Yeah, I knifed the o-so-mighty chainsaw guy from Resident Evil 4. Alright, ain't big deal, but it felt good. Haven't given The Secret Files: Tunguska another chance yet, but I promise I will.

Yesterday I watched Click on the TV, I love Adam Sandler, he's my favourite actor. I had seen this film in the cinema before. It was the second time I watched it and it was the second time it made me cry. And I can't remember of any other film that's done this to me. I mean, the film is pretty funny, like most of Adam's films, but it's some kind of drama too... I might be just a fool, but I think this film teaches us something somehow. That we can't skip what we don't like in life, 'cause we won't be actually living life... Don't know. If you watched Click and felt touched some way or another by it, please, leave your opinion about it or what you've learnt with it, even if you haven't actually cried.

Two new games for the Wii

Hello there, hope you're alright. I was really needing some new games, so I decided to get on my bicycle and head to the nearer game shop. It was raining a little bit, but I needed to buy some new games, and some couple drops couldn't stop me. Davy Jones came to my mind and said "HA! You 'fraid to get wet?" and I mentally answered "No way! I'm a God damn gamer!". But when there was only one block left to the store, the rain intensified a lot, it was like a storm. I got to the store completely soaked and dripping water all around the floor. Sorry store guys, my bad. But you could have given me a towel.

I had a list of seven games I want, but I took only R$20 (R$10 each game), so I picked The Secret Files: Tunguska and Resident Evil 4. I was going to pick The House of the Dead: Overkill, but it hadn't arrived yet, though it was on the catalogue. From the games on my wish list, they had Deadly Creatures too, but between DC and RE4 I picked the second one. I was determined to buy TSF:T, it looked to be pretty good, but now that I played for a couple minutes, it seems to be lame. Graphics are beautiful, because the camera stays still, the backgrounds are pre-rendered. The girl you control is quite cute, and I guess they wanted to make her hot. However, she seems to lack some personality, I mean, her dad's missing and she walks slowly looking for clues or stuff... She could be more of a badass...I'll keep playing it, hoping it get better. By the way, if you have never heard of the Tunguska event, you should read some stuff about it, it's amazing and creepy.

I used to go almost everyday to my pal's to play GTA and RE. He played most of the game, and I kinda gave him support and played some parts. I'm a sissy coward when it comes to games. Hate when those stupid villagers yell "detrás de ti, imbécil!" and stab me with a fork. Dammit. I'm so going to put a bullet inside those heads! Oh, and I decided to post the lyrics for my song God of War, which I quoted some posts ago. Hope you like it.

God of War

You were the god
You sent them all to death
You used to do what you want

You were the man
You ruled this entire world
Now it's past, though scars will hurt forever

Chorus [2x]:

Now it's over
Your legacy's over
Your kingdom's over
Bring your men back
And hand out the crown

Your sword's fallen
Right before your feet
Right before your feet

Get off the throne
It's not yours indeed
But you have already buried the war seed

Chorus [2x]

God of War
Stop the slaughter
We can't stand it any more

That's it. Thank you for reading, any comments, critics or suggestions are welcome. Sorry for the long post and hope your Friday be great.

What have I been doing?

Hey-yo there everyone! Hope y'all doing fine. As some of you know, I have the week off, but I ain't got nothing to do... OK, there's the keyboard class tomorrow, but it's just one busy hour out of five days.

I've been watching more TV, what I hardly ever do. I have played Naruto Shippuden: Narutimate Accel 2 on the PS2 and New Super Mario Bros. on the DS as well. I wrote a review for New Super Mario Bros. (though I bought this game on its release) and I've been translating all my reviews to Portuguese to post on a Brazilian website. Oh, and I started reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which I quit some months ago around page 100 because of spoilers. I have a Mario Kart Wii championship later. In the last one I got fourth placed out of something like 15 players, but I think I'm going to lose this one on purpose, 'cause I'm not into the Mario Kart thing anymore.

After I check everything for the championship (I'm the bastard who organize them), I intend to translate my NSMB review and then I'll finish some undone lyrics. I might post one soon.

Thanks for reading, and have a nice day.

She's so hot... I mean, it's so hot...

Brazilian most renowned site for weather says it's 31°C (87.8 °F), but the day surely feels hotter, and I hate too hot days... I don't feel very well on them. Yesterday I went to the beach with my buddies and we played football (not American football) for some hours then I came home, it was a good day.

My mum told the TV company guys that she didn't want their services any more, so they gently gave us all the channels (except for the pay-per-view and adult channels, unfortunately) and increased the price in just a couple golden coins for some months. And now everything is digital, with interactive menus, amazing video and audio quality and all those cool features. So, at night I watched two films: Epic Movie, which I love and watched for the third or fourth time yesterday, and Beowulf. This last one was a little boring, but I would recommend it for anyone who likes medieval stuff. When it comes to visuals, Beowulf is the only film that I could compare to Final Fantasy VII, which I really want to watch again, I rented it twice already. Anyway, I guess Beowulf's visuals are a bit better than FF VII's. Maybe not better, but more realistic. However, Beowulf was released in 2007 and uses real actors and actresses, just "digitalizing" them. FF: Advent Children is from 2005 (2006 in the USA) and was totally made on computers, I guess.

Speaking of realistic things, Angelina Jolie is one hot babe. And when she's a naked demon, covered in gold and seducing a medieval "brave" demon slayer, she's even hotter. I kinda felt in love with her since I watched a film with her and Antonio Banderas... How can any woman in the world be so sexy and stuff? Lucky Brad Pitt...

There are some films that I wanna watch, and they are:

Borat (seen around five times)
Disaster Movie (haven't seen yet)
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (seen twice)
Ghost Rider (seen twice)
Kung Pow (seen around five times)
Planet Terror (seen once)
Sweeney Todd (seen twice)
V for Vendetta (seen twice)

That's it, hope you enjoy your weekend.

Ciao.
