@thom_maytees I am concerned too: it won't help us much if this "fourth-party" developer's previous experience with Nintendo systems was making "I Love Horses: Riders Paradise"! Well, at least a port is much easier to do than developing a new game. Let's hope it ends up alright.

@mdboomer And I'd rather see Bioware developing exclusively on Wii U and stop wasting time on these puny-and-already-last-generation consoles. Lol, not really, but do you get my point, right? There are other people in the world.

Besides:

1 - making a port is much, MUCH faster than developing a new game;

2 - as JimmeyBurrows said, this port is being developed by a "fourth-party", leaving Bioware's precious time to cook up new things for us.

...If only they would make games as great as Dragon Age 1 and Mass Effect 1, or maybe like Jade Empire or Baldur's Gate again, instead of wasting time with DLC and The Old Republic... (but you bet there are people around anxious for new DLCs and SWTOR content).

@YearoftheSnake5 They did exactly this same thing with Mass Effect 2 on PS3, it still sold quite well and, I'm not bragging since I actually own ME2 on PC (also, I have both a Xbox360 and a PS3) but PS3's ME2 version had some improvements over Xbox360's version (not 'cause PS3 is a better console or whatever, but just because PS3's version was launched one year later, including free DLCs and improved character models). Why do you think it'll be any different now?

@Megavideogamer Yeah, if only the Xbox360 wasn't a 7 years old machine and Wii U wouldn't have any games to play other than ME3, right?

@Raeldor Well, first of all: it's a LOT cheaper to port a game than to make a new one, so it's safe to assume these new Wii-U games will need to sell a lot less to make a profit (take a look at PCs Alan Wake: it was launched on 360 at 2010, still, this year's PC version started to make a profit only two weeks after launch). Second: there are still lots of gamers who still don't own an Xbox360 or PS3, consider someone who only has a DS/3DS and a Wii, or consider someone who only had a Wii and a PC... There are lots of people around, each one will have distinct consuming habits. In the end, you may assume most people who want to play them, have already played, I agree with you, but those "not-most-people" are still quite a large crowd and the developers won't need many of 'em to gain some more easy money. Still, I'm with you when you imply Wii U needs more unrecycled games.

@Evilnator Don't simply assume things like that, man. There are pretty smart gamers around who knows EA will launch a load of DLC content for ME3 and then, latter, will launch a cheaper version with all DLCs included - or at least know that almost any great game will end up in a bargain bin sooner or later. Some gamers just aren't anxious to play every tittle at launch: they may not have enough time to play it at launch and wait, or they may have plenty of games already they still have to play before getting the new ones, or they just may be pretty patient. I guess I fit in all the cases above I mentioned, meaning: still didn't play ME3, still care a lot about the series, will still buy it someday.

@wyan_ CDi was a great concept: a "console" which wasn't for gaming alone, it was for "general entertainment". Look at an Xbox360 or PS3 nowadays and you'll see it's the same concept. The CDi was just WAY ahead of it's time (and seriously oblivious to what the market and consumers wanted and what their competitors were doing). It failed hard, but wasn't an awful idea.

@Suikogaiden Don't generalize, kid. I've been playing videogames since "Pong" was considered a console (1st gen) and bought (or received as a gift, when I was little) 16 different consoles since then, and I'm planning to get a Wii U. I wouldn't call myself exactly a person who "don't know shit about video games". And you know why I'm getting a Wii U? Because I LOVE videogames. If you have the money to expend, most consoles in the history will have great games to play.

The 3DO was a failure? You bet! But it had the first Need for Speed (Electronic Arts was a good developer at the time) and Gex. Saturn was a failure? Kinda. But it had Panzer Dragoon Saga, Shinning Force III, Dragon Force... The Dreamcast was a failure? Almost. But it had Shenmue, Jet Set Radio, Space Channel #5. The Wii was a failure? NOT EVEN CLOSE. Granted, nowadays I play a lot more on my gaming PC and Xbox360, but I got to play Muramasa, Trauma Center, No More Heroes, Madworld, the definitive version of Resident Evil 4, Xenoblade Chronicles and much, much more on my Wii. And, I clearly remember, I got it for half the price I would've to pay for an Xbox360 (launch prices: Wii: U$250.00, Xbox360: U$500.00, PS3: U$600.00), it was pretty damn worthy, if you ask me.

Now, if you have to choose one console or another, that's fine, not everyone can afford to have all the next-gen consoles - and, actually, sometimes it may be quite redundant (for instance, if wasn't for Heavy Rain, God of War and bluray movies, my PS3 would still be sealed on it's box - but that's only 'cause I have the 360 and PC, I would use it much more otherwise, it's a fine console), I, for a very long time, wasn't able for have all of them. Still, that's not an excuse to generalize "that console sucks, bro!". A true gamers know how to appreciate the strengths of every platform. A true gamer is interested in the games and know every console will have something to offer. Heck, I may even get myself and OUYA, who know what will come for it?

Be a true gamer, give the Wii U a chance and respect, even if you (now) don't intend to buy one. I have a few reserves about it, but I'm also really curious about what it can do.

@cbb1018 Really, man, go get Mass Effect 1: the shooter crowd prefer the streamlined combat and simple gameplay of Mass Effect 2 and 3 (which are good games on their own), but for the RPG fan, Mass Effect 1 is the best, you should play it.

That's great, however I'd prefer a simple, single-player, RPG: a Phantasy Star V.

Phantasy Star was SEGA's greatest RPG series, why they've abandoned it since Genesis time is... incomprehensible.

Is it really too much to wish for Phantasy Star V and Shinning force IV?
