@Cypress131 The point he made was "look at the contract" to decide if publisher "can" mistreat you or not... not "will mistreat you in future". You can never know someone's intention, but you can ensure that you close out the possibility if one were to have bad intentions. Not saying I agree or disagree with him, just pointing out the error in your reading of his statement.

@Zloth2 And there is no reason why those extras need to be "required" when they can be optional. Like PS+, it gives extra but is optional and in no way affects your enjoyment of a game you play.

@Mersinary_Myth More people had X360 because it came out first and all their friends were playing X360. Am sure if all your X360 friends were to move to PS4 next gen you will do the same, though I might be wrong.

@rawkstar007 Just coz we don't want something to happen doesn't mean it won't. Only thing waving a red flag for me is that MS is not doing anything to dispel these rumors which are generating more and more bad PR. I got a feeling some PR agency is going to lose one of its biggest clients. There are ways to deny rumors without confirming anything. e.g. An indie game dev making an "off the record" remark that X720 isn't always online.

@-MordeN- Exactly. And I think that is exactly what he says too. Gamers are ready for it provided they're given good enough reasons to go always online. Way things stand right now, there are none. Any argument for always online fails to realize that all benefits of "always online required" can also be achieved with "online optional". At end of day it is about choice to consumers, not even DRM.

@Mersinary_Myth Exactly. MS doesn't realize how badly it is failing the PR game here. The fact that reveal that was supposed to happen in April is happening in May tells me Sony caught them on the wrong foot. May reveal means close to E3 where Sony and Nintendo will have another chance to halt MS momentum.

@AzulSoul @awhite33 By virtue of being first and having some concrete information out their Sony has avoided the negative fallout of rumors which might be just that, rumors. You'll be surprised how strongly people believe in a lie/rumor to the point of disregarding evidence to contrary. May reveal means close to E3 where Sony and Nintendo will have another chance to halt MS momentum.

@Prime_28 @pongley @blackzio @fadersdream Have you noticed how one can't have a rational opinion about this? You have to be frothing at your mouth in anger about always online and if you're not you're called crazy.

@MoronGotMyName @the_requiem @Zeeksie Aha, that I agree with. But it is limiting choice only because today it has nothing good to offer, the point made by Ubi rep too. Today they're putting this restriction without giving any benefit in return. The day industry figures out reasons to make people want to be always online, it will take off.
