@Guy_Brohski: Its a 720p handheld and 1080p console when docked, it's just a little less powerful than a XB1, and it's a new product.

$300 makes perfect sense to me.

The XB1 has had its share of 720p games on the big screen, at least the Switch does 1080p when docked to play on a TV.

@Guy_Brohski: If it's what MS is saying it will be I'd lean more towards a price tag of $599.

A $499 version would be barebones as hell, it would have to be.

@Abdulrahman1981: At $300, what makes you think it would? Best you can hope for is that your 4K TV will upscale it.

@maximo: 720p is for the handheld portion of the console, which at that size is perfectly acceptable, when docked I wanna say it'll display resolutions up to 1080p.

Keep in mind, even some XB1 games run at 720p.

@maximo: Exactly, so why do people have a problem paying $300 for this? It's a new console, it offers up two ways to play (mobile or docked), and it's made by Nintendo, a company with a history of creating some of the most reliable consoles out there.

$300 isn't a "premium" price, it's nowhere near what I would consider to be a price paid for a premium product, in fact, $300 is about as entry level as it gets for a new hardware release, so people getting upset about it is a bit baffling. People act as though Nintendo should've priced this thing at $200 or less.

@grbolivar: Hasn't it been pretty much confirmed the Switch is just barely below that of a PS4 and XB1 in terms of hardware performance?

May I remind you the Xb1 still gets 720p games from time to time lol

@Donut0389: Nintendo isn't competing with anyone, figured that to be obvious given they aren't concerned too much with having advanced hardware as much as they are trying to innovate and be different.

@grbolivar: You aren't paying for just a 720p tablet though lol, there's the hardware in the dock as well.

I don't see the problem with the price, like at all.

@Metallicwolf29: Oh I don't know, why not if I intend to get one at launch anyway?
