@lexkuther23: Seeing as how their 2017 line up is lackluster compared to Sony's, I guarantee you they took this into account and withheld the information of Scalebound being cancelled so as to not lose any holiday sales, especially when it was hinted at being a early 2017 release.
@Benny_a: I doubt BC games will run in native 4K, but it's all good, I played Gears of War 2 last night in upscaled 4K on my XB1S, and it looked a bit more crisp, not a big upgrade but a noticeable one. Unfortunately the game runs at a crappy 30fps that chooses to go up and down in open areas during big firefights.
Kinda hard going from 60fps in Ultimate Gears of War and Gears 4 on PC to a 25-30fps Xbox 360 games. Too bad BC doesn't improve or stabilize the framerate.
@Benny_a: I don't care lol. HDR, in the manner you're speaking, is coming to PC from what I've heard. Last thing I heard was Battlefield 1 would be one of the first games to utilize it unless something has changed, but the feature and monitors are coming to PC THIS year I do believe, so it's only a matter of time.
@Benny_a: I don't care what Carmack says, I've seen this proven wrong on numerous occasions with certain PC builds. There's a YouTube video of a guy that builds a $500 gaming PC with parts he found used online, and while they ARE better than the PS4 in terms of specs, it's wasn't by some HUGE margin, and the PC easily outperformed the PS4.
Just because Carmack makes such a claim doesn't mean it's the end all be all for how hardware works. He could very well be speaking from experience using HIS specific engine for games, meaning you can't apply his logic to every other developer out there.
Current consoles are practically poor mans PCs anyway the way their built these days. The days of super custom hardware with CELL processors are over, from now on you can bet they'll be closer in line with MID range gaming PCs than anything else.
You're over here talking about double the performance of this and that and these consoles can barely muster 1080p at 30fps, get the hell out of here lol. You can build a budget PC that runs games in 1080p/60fps that stomps a PS4 and an XB1
@Mirimon78: Like MS is the only company trying to saturate itself into our lives. Sounds like every other electronics company out there. Some make refrigerators, phones, TVs, tablets, you name it, all from one company, so who cares if MS is doing it? If Sony had the money they'd do the same, but they've tried and failed in quite a few endeavors, and they can't afford to take losses like MS can.
It's whatever, Sony is doing great and MS is doing fine, but I'd rather play PC anyway, because I see no reason to wait on 4k/60fps if I don't have too, and yes my PC can do it for quite a few games.
