@Spartan_418: I think this was one of the reasons why AMD postponed the launch of the Fury X2 to coincide with the release of the Rift and Vive. AMD is reworking their LiquidVR toolset to leverage multi-GPU functionality. The common example they gave was one card renders one lens for the headset for dual-GPU systems, but a Tri-Fire or Quad-Fire system would probably function in the same fashion. Nivida's Gameworks won't be far behind for SLi solutions, perhaps even ahead of AMD.
I'm a little surprised that Capcom left out an Arcade Mode. That's been the trademark staple for the Street Fighter franchise since the early 90's. I remember spending countless hours in Arcade Mode for Street Fighter II when I picked it up for my Sega Genesis. If they release an Arcade Mode DLC, then I'll pick up the game for nostalgia's sake.
@drumjod: That is strange. The EVGA runs stock at 1165 MHz, and the MSI stock speed is 1051 MHz. I don't have mine overclocked. Although I have heard that the i7-6700k is about 10% faster than the 4790k. Maybe that's where it's coming from? I'd like to see what the 3DMark tests show for CPU and GPU usage for VR. The steam test was pretty vague
Just ran it on mine. I have an MSI GTX 970, i7-6700k (stock speeds), and 16GB of DDR4 @2133 MHz.
The results bar has three categories: Not Ready, Capable, and Ready. Mine is in the middle of the "Ready" category. Or on the 1-to-10 scale in the details section, mine averaged 7.1
I actually can't complain about the price. I was expecting something closer to $1099 or $1199 with all of the rumor and speculation floating around. But I don't think people are going to snap up a Vive, or a Rift as they would a new console until developers show some games more enticing than a job simulator, house of the dead zombie shooters, and miniature golf.
I'll be the first one in line to get a Vive as soon as I see Elder Scrolls, Far Cry, and Call of Duty titles launching on it. Until then, I guess I'll buy another GTX 970 and SLi the great games I already have.
It would be pretty awesome if Bethesda announced a Daggerfall remake - this year being the 20th anniversary of the original game and all. It would be even more awesome if they partnered with Hello Games to develop it by using the same procedure-generated game system that they're using for No Man's Sky. That way they could make the game world just as big as the original Daggerfall.
But I'll be happy with any Elder Scrolls announcement.
