-"Because developers are not allowed to ship a Project Scorpio-only SKU, optimising for ESRAM remains critical to performance on Microsoft platforms."-

This right here is the big question. If this is true it has major implications for Microsoft's new console. Even though its not an official statement we shall all find out soon enough.

Guillermo del Toro is quickly becoming Kojima's number 1 fanboy. I'm starting to think he might hate Konami more than anyone alive, even the fans lol.

As for Deathstranding, I think there's no other game coming out that has so many people questioning what it will be like/about. I know it definitely has me curious and excited.

@saturatedbutter: Knowing Kojima's past that statement could very well come to fruition.

@RicanV:

You're right.

All the actual write ups paint a very positive picture of the game so that is probably the best indication of it's quality rather than the final overall score they place at the end of their articles.

Just think its odd I'm reading so many positive reviews with praise that is usually reserved for games in the low 9's/90s yet their final scores are in the 7's/70's or even low 8's/80's. Perhaps it's just the sites I'm visiting or maybe it's my own high expectations.

I've looked at a few reviews so far on various sites and the one thing that seems odd to me is that they all praise the game and the direction it takes yet the review scores would indicate the game isn't nearly as good as they describe in their detailed right ups (I'm not specifically talking about this one.).

I think it's the inconsistencies that are throwing me off. I'm not saying every article is a glowing review but by the end of each article I would expect a higher score. Perhaps its just my own biases.

I will admit, I really wanted this game to be great (in the 9's) but the scores would indicate otherwise (And yes, I know, getting below a 9 doesn't mean a game is bad.). Still, these are just a select few individuals opinions.

Guess we'll all find out tomorrow.

Just out of curiosity, is this the first time Zelda has been a launch title for anything?

Despite having very limited time this weekend (LIAR!) I was able to spend a few hours with the Nioh demo and even managed to beat that unbearably insane samurai battle (Damn you samurai!).

There were certain elements I liked about the demo and certain things I didn't but overall I think this game is shaping up to be a good experience.

I think its unfair to constantly be mentioning the souls games anytime Nioh is mentioned but unfortunately the similarities give merit to these comparisons and due to this its like the game is living in FROM's shadow. Its almost like the little brother trying to pave his own path in the world but being reminded from his parents about the successes of his older sibling.

Even I myself kept this subconscious thought in the back of my head throughout my whole play-through, comparing everything from the way my character moved to such subjective things as the overall difficulty of enemy and boss encounters.

The mission style layout is yet another point I'm sure will be an area of contention with certain groups voicing their distaste for it. Its true its not a fully immersive open world but once again I wonder if these concerns are due in part to gamers experiences with the souls games. Personally I'm divided.

From the very limited time I had with it I can see how some die-hard souls fans might not gravitate towards it right away as the souls games I found had an easier learning curve and were more accessible right out the gate (a souls game easier? You've lost you're damn mind.). With that said, for those who maybe found dark souls too easy (yeah, right lol.) I can see how something like this would be the next step up. Personally I love the challenge.

There's a lot to like here and considering the demo is just a snapshot of the final product I would say its heading in the right direction.

Lets face it, the people who play videogames regularly (such as the people who visit this site.) have probably already played it. So why does it keep selling so much?

It's probably due to a combination of factors, one of which is most likely the fact that GTA has reached the casual/mainstream media market (something very few games can do.). People who barely know anything about games or maybe buy 1 or 2 a year at most are more than likely the culprits behind these continued numbers. The same could be said of Call of Duty's continued sales.
