quick-time-fest. no thank you. there's a reason you don't see this kind of garbage on pc. key word: garbage. this stuff is about as interesting as a wii remote game. (hint: not at all)

So she wanted to work on something that would require many, MANY new employees. And Valve refused to hire that many new employees in such a short period because it that's not how Valve wants to grow. It would change the face of the culture of the company if they were to allow her to recruit as openly as she would have liked. She clearly wasn't happy with the "high school" preventing her mass hiring process, so Valve let her go and let her take her project with her. That about sum it up? Sounds like she's the one acting like a child.

@psx_warrior ^^^ this.

and also note they miraculously have "multiple teams" now and they are trying to have multiple kickstarters simultaneously for each "team" to build more games along side this one.

makes you realize their budget has grown because the number of employees has grown. instead of taking the money they got and live within the budget they were given, they are expanding and double dipping.

i'm not impressed. what they're doing is making a big leap from small indie dev team, to a full-on publisher with multiple dev teams underneath them, building multiple games at once. that's insulting to the people backing them on kickstarter.

kickstarter is for backing indie devs. NOT publishers!

not this again....

TLDR tip: make a GOOD game and people will buy it.

if your company's business model relies on sales figures purely from marketing hype and pre-order sales before the reviews are published... then you can go **** yourself. and your shareholders can go **** themselves too.

nobody plays a limited demo of a GOOD game and says, "you know, this game is awesome, but i'm not gonna buy it cause i've already had enough fun.

no. if a demo doesn't sell MORE copies, it is because the game is shit.

this is nonsense companies tell their shareholders, but wake the **** up douchbags. this isn't a private meeting. (you think they'd learn from Mitt Romney)

@Chai_Tea do tell. cause pc's can use controllers, hook up to tv's, and be played from the living room couches too.

and the ps4/xb1 console exclusives won't be able to exclude the PC. heard of emulation?

time to admit you're buying a defunct device.

@dsb333 @bumpies he also doesn't realize it will be simple to emulate ps4 xb1 games to pc this time around. the only bragging rights these devices have is they are better than the 3rd console which targets 6-11 year olds.

@senjutsu @wowgrandpa you do realize console games are also "hacked a lot" don't you? and Steam on PC has converted many pirates into paying customers over the years. meanwhile, Gamestop and the like have ruined publisher profits because they see zero money from used game sales. this is why DLC is now pushed so hard, and multiplayer is put in every single single player game nowadays, and every game has to have special pre-order bonus exclusives for each retail store or they won't put it on the shelf.. Gamestop is a much bigger problem to publishers than PC pirates.
