Thats the problem here, I believe this demand is being created by New Egg, not true supply shortages. I think the tech industry in particular manufactures things extra slow (or holds back stock) to "create" demand shorts, in the interest of driving up price. The problem is , any industry can do this and we would be stuck. Gas is the obvious example, but any industry can really create there own supply shorts and raise prices screaming "supply and demand , supply and demand" the the "cha ching cha ching" cash flow sound!

I spoke with a rep from EVGA who said it was unlikey they would have any boards before Feb, so where is New egg getting them if the SUPPLIER site is out>?

Would you buy a Q6600 OR Wait for A duo core Penryn (wolfdale).

I really am about to build this is the last part, which I can buy today (thanks Dad for the Gift certificate)

But how much performance boost from the New Penryn? I have an EVGA 780i to run it on!

Also wondering about buyin the 8800GT or wait for the 98XX series. I really hate to wait another month or 2 for all this.
