@blinkmdg'It's also funny how they turn some of the abusive rants into another show called feedbackula which has a very high viewership and have the audacity to complain about it on a different show. Haha.'
While I disagreed with you previously, I can totally get behind you on this one. Danny's awesome, and so is 'The Point', but the fact that the GameStop Staff is upset over the comments they're receiving, when they glorify these types of opinions on a weekly basis, is a joke. They asked for it by making Feedbackula as popular as it is, as it's now beginning to truly affect the community.
@blinkmdg @yearssomuch When I was 14, I was playing GTA just as well. I was hijacking peoples vehicles, robbing banks, murdering innocent civilians, and gunning down hordes of policemen, all in the name of fun. But God forbid I torture someone in my crime simulator, that's a step too far huh?
@blinkmdg @SurfaceNerd I think he means because he's not going to go out and torture an actual person, and knows the difference between doing it in a virtual world, to a 3D model that isn't a real person, and doing it to a real person.
As long as Feedbackula is around, as long as the opinions of trolls are glorified, we will never move in the correct direction that's needed in order to alleviate the problem.
@anonymouszomby I can agree with this. I tried making completely harmless remarks regarding Carolyn and her GTA V review, and the comments would get deleted almost immediately after I posted them. I tried a little experiment where I would comment about the GTA V review, and it wouldn't get deleted. I tried the same thing while simply mentioning Carolyn's name, and it would get deleted immediately.. again.
To say GameSpot is 'selective' about the comments they'll keep and delete wouldn't be a stretch.. not at all.
I tried making the exact same post a few hours ago, received 0 'likes', and mostly had people arguing with me. So I'm surprised, and refreshed, to see people actually agreeing.
@Apathy4Marmite Exactly, and this is what people just don't seem to understand. A troll only wants a reaction, whether it's from the person he's attacking, other people who happened to read his comment, or, oh I don't know, THE GAMESPOT STAFF? Guess what Feedbackula does.
If you want to improve the community, get rid of webshows that do nothing but degrade the community. Like, oh, I don't know.. Feedbackula? It does nothing but showcase the opinions of trolls, which leads to more people acting more 'trollish', thus lowering the standard. It's not rocket science.
@Shanks_D_Chop @yearssomuch I get that Feedbackula only exists because of the fact that people were making these awful comments in the first place, but my point is that Feedbackula encourages the behavior, thus degrading the overall quality of the community.
I never said that Feedbackula was the sole reason these people hang around as often as they do, but to deny the fact that Feedbackula encourages more of the same behavior they're showcasing is asinine. This isn't rocket science, people.
