I don't get why it's associated with kids so much. Whichever kid is able to mess up 3DS is most likely not old enough for such thing anyway and shoud stick with regular toys.
I'm not too fond of the design, although it feels like a little throwback to Game Boy. Where I live, both Vita (WiFi version) and 3DS XL retail for 180 EUR. They both have their pros and cons so the price drop on 2DS may just be enough to tip the scales for me.
@BoozerX You are naive if you think GTAV will be skipping PC. True, it may come a few months later but the guys at Rockstar would be stupid if they decided not to put it on PC.
@demonkingx5 Billy Mays here introducing the phenomenal, ground breaking COMMAS! With only a few uses of commas, your sentences will make sense, be easier to read and won't look like a clusterfuck of words. Guaranteed! Call now and apart from commas, you'll also get period, which enables you to use multiple sentences in one paragraph, completely FREE of charge!
@northArrow Yeah. 7.7 mil active subs paying about $15 a month, making it a gain of a measly $100,000,000 per month give or take. Nobody in their right mind would call THAT a success.
As for old players saying they miss the Vanilla/TBC are hugely affected by nostalgia, missing the old days & friends and stuff rather than the game state.
Quoting the article:
"People who played Vanilla always say 'if it had stayed the same, I would have the same fun now as I did then.' But that's not true. Audiences always evolve," Chilton said.
@shuwar @zaxrider I'm personally not a huge fan of HD re-editions, I'd appreciate, and be willing to pay much more for a completely remastered game with higher quality meshes and so on. So yeah, agree on the money grabbing there.
This transfer fee seems to only apply to the cross-gen games only, although there may be some PS3 PS Store titles for PS4 in the future.
All in all though, you're paying for convenience. Being able to ditch previous hardware and stick to the latest only. Having a collector mindset, if I were to be getting consoles and have tons of games for them, I'd actually prefer having all my consoles in separate shelves, ready to connect to the TV, with each console having all it's games next to it and thus wouldn't bother getting the same thing twice.
@shuwar With PC it's different though. There's not gonna be any PC 2.0 anytime soon and Windows allows running programs in it's previous version modes. Could consoles have done this? Probably, but it'd most likely make them more expensive, which they're probably trying to avoid.
As for versions, I think it's disc to digital. Like, the PS3 game can be on disc but they're not gonna deliver, or sell you a PS4 disc version of the game if you choose to upgrade, so you only get to download that one.
@shuwar That's like saying that if I buy GTAV for PS3, I'm entitled to get it for free for all other platforms if I decide I want to play it on 360 or PC in the future.
