Wait, so this is coming to PS4 and XONE as well, right? If I recall correctly, they both announced that they're gonna charge for online, didn't they? Good luck making console people pay their online fees + sub fees for this...
@Kr3isen Would do the same but we don't know how fast the leveling is going to be and how much level restricted and/or gear restricted are the story missions gonna be.
@Deadly_Nemesis Yeah, but it could've been like $10 a month, or $13, heck, even $20 if it was an epic game. It's just that almost all P2P MMOs out there charge $15 a month. Do they all use the same server providers or is it just like the unified pricing thing as in AAA game = $60, MMO = $60 + $15/month?
@Sefrix The good thing about GW2 is that it doesn't require monthly fees and is rather casual so you can drop in and out whenever you feel like it. Although there is an updated content every 2 weeks, it's mostly events that get you gold and cosmetic stuff, so once you get to a certain "tier" of equipment, it will last you for a good while. That's PvE. In structured/team PvP you can be competitive right after you finish the tutorial = like 10 minutes after you create your character.
@YukoAsho @Armyboy5 Even with GFWL around, there was nothing on the level Steam is. Origin, apart from being pretty much just an EA's gimmick, has often server issues that are screwing people over and GFWL was a joke, an annoying one at that. Everything else out there has absolutely no recognition among publishers or gamers, no matter how awesome it may or may not be.
I think it would be quite good actually if every platform had it's primary service. PSN/PS Store for Playstation, XBL or whatever they're doing for Xbox, Steam for PC (and Mac) and whatever Nintendo has for them.
So, does this mean there will be no GFWL for the games to come? Like, when I'm done with my games I have bound to GFWL I'll be done with GFWL as well? Forever? Sweet.
@XxTheEvilxX @zaxrider Please be so kind and list me 5 popular F2P games that don't offer any microtransactions whatsoever. While at it, you can also describe the wide variety of ways to keep your business running if you offer free services.
Nobody is forcing you to spend money on the game or to get the card. Everything that gives you any sort of advantage over the other players can be bought via in-game currency you gain by playing the game.
@XxTheEvilxX FREE. TO. PLAY. Which part of that appears false in League? You can download it for free, play for free and become the international champion without spending a cent on the game. Truly a scam of epic proportions...
