You might find that the 1080i resolution is cropped more accurately for your TV.  The picture will be cropped slightly differently depending on the resolution.  On my 42" LCD 720p TV, I lose the upper and lower edges of the image (just slightly) in 1080i.  Yours might fit better at 1080i.  It totally depends on the TV.

From what I've read the PC version is massively multiplayer while the 360 version allows up to 8 players to play cooperatively.  I sure wish they took the extra step to make the 360 version massively multiplayer.  Then i would not hesitate in buying this game.  I love MMO's but so far there is no great next-gen MMO on the 360 (yeah yeah FFXI doesn't count as it's not next-gen and PSU isn't really an MMO).  If not Two Worlds, then I'll wait for Conan.

Yeah now that the Ana scaler chip has been enabling 1080p resolutions, many games can be described as 1080p compatible, but this is different from NATIVE 1080p.  All 1080p compatible games can be upscaled to 1080p, but only native 1080p games will actually have the extra image detail that is possible with 1080p.  Upscaled 1080p still looks fantastic, but it's worth noting the difference.

RS:V is without question the best multiplayer game on Live and few will debate that.  Perhaps a few Gears of War folks might argue, but GOW has worn thin for me personally.  Definitely get RS:V.  Don't be surprised if you find the single player campaign to be a bit boring though.  Once I started playing RS:V on Live I never touched the single player again.  I've also quit playing all my other multiplayer shooters since they're so boring in comparison.  RS:V has so many different online game modes and so many different tactics that it has great depth and replayability.  It's definitely worth the extra $20.

Definitely 100% unequivocally it will look tons better on the monitor. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise. Monitors are high definition by nature, so it will have a resolution that is much higher than the standard 480i resolution of a tv (which is only 640 X 480 and not even a progressive scan image, so it will look less smooth, too). Most monitors in the 17" to 19" range will look great at the 720p resolution which is 1280 X 720 or something close to that, depending on the monitor itself. Just use a VGA connection and you'll even be able to upscale all your DVD's to the higher resolution of the monitor, too.
By the way, the monitor that is shown in your photo is not widescreen, so 1024 X 768 (which is a 4:3 ratio instead of a 16:9 ratio) might look better.  Try different resolutions and see which one works best.

Hmm I've been thinking of trying out that Battlestations game. Does the multiplayer demo give a good impression of the overall game or is it just "scratching the surface"?

I'm just saying try turning off some guide features and see if it helps.  I think maybe the Xbox checks the Live guide features when you switch out of online games so it may cause crashing.  I don't know though -- it could just be coincidental I suppose.  It's just that my 360 rarely freezes in any newer games but it did with FNR3, NHL 2K6, and a couple others I can't remember.  It has been helpful for quite a few people to turn off notification sounds, though.

RS:V is the best online experience for the 360 bar none.  It does have clan support but it's not as fleshed out as some games.  For example, in BF2:MC you could actually form a clan in the game and choose clan battles through the (admittedly clunky) interface.  In RS:V you can have clan initials and then basically just meet up with your clan online and fight other clans.  But there's no way to actually set up an official clan lobby / clan tournament or whatever.  For that, you need to use websites like Gamebattles.com for ladders and so on.

It is the best 360 FPS by far and recaptures that old fun Counter-Strike feel in a better overall package.

My 360 used to freeze with FNR3 also.  Try turning off some features like Notifications (or sounds for notifications -- I turned that off and my 360 almost never freezes any more) in the Live guide.  Sometimes these guide functions have software issues, especially with some of the older 360 games.  Maybe try turning off vibration and stuff like that to see if it's just a software / interface issue.

If you're using a DSL connection, your Internet provider needs to know some information about those consoles that you want to connect.  They'll probably need to know the MAC address of the consoles (it's listed in the 360's internet settings) so that no unidentified machines are on the network from your home.

Call your ISP and they can probably help you solve the problem.
