Fact: Kobe gets every call under 2 mins in the 4th quarter.. That wasnt a foul.. Thats why he missed the FTdamelokidd124
I was waiting for Jeff Van Gundy to give us the "ball don't lie" line lol...
There have been a lot of bad calls throughout the series so far. How did the refs miss that Mickael Pietrus double dribble in the open court? Jordan Farmar did touch foul him when it happened, but I was kinda suprised that they did a no call for that and let both things slide.

Thats where that phrase came from? I thought that was just somethin people in NY say during pickup games

Well I know it from Rasheed Wallace. I dunno if Sheed started it but he's the one who most famously says it. I would think he got it from pickup games growing up and just carried it over to the NBA.

colt why are you a kings fan if you don't live in sac i can name 29 better teams to like.rubbersouIBecause I've loved the Kings since the Mitch Richmond era (dude is one of my favorite players of all time.) I'm not going to stop liking them because they stink nowadays. I still follow them, and if they're ever on TV in my area I try to watch the game. I love my Kings to death.
I remember back in the mid 90s I was a Kings fan, and a Rockets fan (I loved Olajuwan, and Clyde Drexler--Drexler is my all-time favorite player.) I only liked the Rockets because of Clyde really, and because they beat the Knicks in the finals that year (I guess I originally rooted for them because my mom was a huge Knicks fan--lmao.) After Clyde retired though, I was only a Kings fan, and have been ever since. I've been a fan of basketball since like '93...too bad I'm not too good anymore :(
van gundy and jackson doing play by play analysis = win
Kornheiser on the other hand is the most annoying commentator i've ever heard. Not only does he have limited football knowledge, he's not even funny on MNF. that's one of the reasons he decided not to be on MNF anymore
good job howard, you lost the game for your team and probably the series, all u had to do was just hit 1 free throw at the end of the 4th.
kobe got away with a hige foul when he put that elbow to the face. f*ck im so pissed off. i f*cken hate the lakers.........WHY THE F*CK CANT MAGIC JUST HIT SOME FREE THROWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
. Im not even watching the rest of the finals.. damelokidd124
same here.
i cant stand to see so many people suck kobe's d*ck.
i live in the cali area and im soooo sick of all thse bangwagners that are all rocking kobey jerseys. and to make matters worse the rapper i hate more than anything makes a song about the player i hate the most(Kobe) and every station i listen to plays it about 12 times a day.
Â

cant wait for football season to roll around.................
^ lol owned a suns and nuggets fans not watching the rest of the finals
whooo! this win never felt so dam GOOD
btw refs were letting them play in OT, the definitely let Lewis get away with an obvious hold on Odom during OT and they let kobe get away with that offensive foul so it cancels out
anyways yeah Howard and Turkoglo cost the Magic this game. Their FT shooting is what caused them to lose, all Howard had to do was hit 1 FT just 1 and he didn't.
Fisher also player of the game, he was clutch once again
1 more win and Kobe can say to Shaq tell me how my *** taste
[QUOTE="iHeartCali"]Right on Lakers 8)andyboiii
I wish -halftime- was here to celebrate with us but he's suspended :(
word :( GS loses another dude temporarily to the system.... W is all that matters huh? Your right tho, Im "owned" (I hate that word) because Lakers are so overwhelmingly dominant against the horrible Orlando Magic and they won each game convincingly and this feels like the 3 Peat.. Its so easy for the Lakers to get these wins and its not like foolish mistakes were made in order to put them in position for their Ws.. If I was a Lakers fan Id be so happy that we're this great.. I think Im gonna be a Lakers fan now.. Yay, Kobes the clutchest ever.. We dont get any breaks, we win with skill and just being that much better than the other team.. Right?
Magic blew that game big time.
Dwight needed to make just 1 free throw.... and Jameer had no business giving Fish that much room on the 3pter
[QUOTE="Ryder004"]fml, i cant get a break anywhere.
andyboiii
alright man, if it makes you feel better i'm a raiders fan. go ahead and laugh away
LOL!!! how the hell can i laugh away when ur team re-built my whole franchise thx to the game in week 17.

its all good thought, hopefully this month goes by fast and all the Laker fans can transfer over to their Dodgers...just as long as the Kobe hype goes down
Ridiculous game. I can't believe I actually rooted for the Magic, and thought they had a chance. That lack of concentration in the final minute of the 4th was more pitiful than any Kings meltdown this season. Seriously, up by 5 with 45 seconds to go and you cant close it out? If I were Magic fan I'd be embarassed. Hell, I'm embarassed for them and I root for the worst team in the NBA.Colt45fool
settle down now

never said my kings could play any defense :( lmao.Still, I'm pissed about this loss, and this isn't even my team [though I guess anybody's my team when they play against the Lakers.] That last minute in regulation was disgusting.
also is anybody ABSOLUTELY SICK of jeff van gundys play by play analysis. seriously, I hate to death as a commentator. idk who's worse...him, or Tony Kornheiser on MNF.Colt45fool
dude, did you always say some of the dumbest things ever? i have this memory of you being halfway decent, but wow, almost everything i read from you nowadays is crazy off base
van gundy is absolutely fantastic, probably the only commentator who notices so many of the little things other people just ignore.Â
and word to whoever said they're not watching the finals anymore, LOL. gonna be so annoying to hear the kobe nut huggers. one thing i WOULD like van gundy to do is point out how even when kobe makes those tough long 2-pointers, talk about how they're the lowest percentage shot like you did in all the other preceding series, and how even if kobe makes those more often than anyone else in the world, it still prevents him from being an efficient offensive player and the magic will live with that every day of the week.
kobe bryant is the best jump shooter in the NBA (or maybe not, what up dirk!), but def not close to the best player. big difference. *****s really need to stop saying that, they look so foolish every time they do. why is everyone always 3 years behind reality?

lol, damn. ethered me.Either way, I hate Van Gundy as a commentator. You say he notices things people ignore, and I say they're ignored for a reason. All of the **** he says just sounds so irrelevant, and obvious. This, not counting all of the countless STUPID **** he says. The fact that he and Mark Jackson believed Jameer Nelson was an asset to the Magic in the 4th quarter because Jameer made two elementary passes to Dwight Howard should speak volumes on how good of a commentator he is. He sucks. Point blank, per-iod.
you need to calm down. it soudns like you're operating with too much hate in your system for no reason. listen to him objectively and he's amazing.
i hated mark jackson a year or so ago too, but he is also incredible. he has stepped up his game so much i am just blown away. he is also HILARIOUS.Â
at any individual game van gundy announcers i could pick out a billion things that make him so good, so i'm going to call this bad timing. but he points out things no one points out, and they're definitely not irrelevant -- they're some of the most important things in basketball that everyone overlooks. he kept belaboring the turnover point for the magic, when that was so huge. they SHOULD have been up by a lot, but turnovers are the most costly plays in basketball. the TOs were a much bigger story than the missed FTs. he also kept hammering home about how stupid the magic were playing, which again, was HUGE. so many announcers in that position would be like, "yay things are going well for the magic, let's keep it positive." but nope, he keeps it real. they were making so many bone-headed plays it's like, wow, how did you guys even make it this far?
the jameer nelson thing was dumb IN HINDSIGHT, but at the time it was defensible -- nelson WAS looking better, and believe it or not the magic have had a hard time with entry passes all playoffs long so those were definitely praise-worthy situations considering the circumstances. that said, i can understand how you think he was reaching -- i thought it was a little light at the time too. the whole "yay jameer nelson is good" thing just blew up in their face because he played THE ENTIRE FOURTH QUARTER -- seriously, what was van gundy thinking.
Â
i don't mind jackson as much as van gundy. at least with jackson you can get some good information, and relevant play by play. van gundy just babbles on about obvious information, and talks about his relations with his brother, and the van gundy family more so than the game. if he's not talking about how stupid the magic are playing [seriously, anybody with half a brain could tell you that the magic were playing stupid basketball--running up the floor and taking a jumpshot is 90% of the time a bad shot] he's babbling on about stan van gundy's non existant tie game. seriously, stfu jeff.
I migh have a gripe against him, because I've always hated the Knicks, and Van Gundy was more often than not a blubbering idiot when he coached in New York. Doesn't excuse the dumb things that come out of his mouth though. ill watch the game tommorow, and give you some nice quotables though, i cant think of anything right now.Â

not at all -- that's their game
and as the suns proved, most of the time your best shot attempt is an open jumper early in the shot clock. those are good shots, and the magic roster is full of knockdown shooters. like he said in the game, you don't change your stripes now. you are what got you there.

yeah but in the last game the magic were taking bad shots, and making stupid turnovers. When a 12 point lead dwindles to a Lakers lead in 5 minutes, I don't need Jeff Van Gundy to let me know that the Magic are playing stupid basketball.[QUOTE="KamMoye"][QUOTE="Colt45fool"][seriously, anybody with half a brain could tell you that the magic were playing stupid basketball--running up the floor and taking a jumpshot is 90% of the time a bad shot]

he was talking about committing fouls for no reason (which is the reason hedo picked up his 4th earlier than he should've and had to go to the bench at a critical time).
the bolded part is also indicating you're being super results oriented, esp since van gundy was talking about it BEFORE they blew the lead.Â

i dont recall the magic committing any bad fouls in the 2nd half, outside of that foul you mentioned where hedo tried to stop a lay up knowing that he had 3 fouls already. besides didn't the lakers have like three guys with 5 fouls or so [bynum, odom, someone else im forgetting]. i also dont remember jeff mentioning it :?Please Log In to post.
