First off, let me get this straight: I am not trying to prove anyone wrong by going into some big debate with you guys. I do this only for research purposes. I'm merely wondering what you guys believe backs up your theory of no god. That is all.

I don't believe in God because there's no evidence of god, quite simple really. The question should be how come people believe in god with no evidence.

the better question is: why do atheists feel that people are really interested in their argument about god? whenever they get the chance they will start talking **** about how science did this, and research did that, and homosexuality has been observed in 10000000 species.

No empirical evidence.solid_mario
Like everyone else in the thread, this's my answer. It's illogical to believe in something without evidence of it's existence. I also step from "Well I've no way of knowing, maybe he has a decent reason for hiding for 2000 years" to "there is no god" through the reasoning that any loving god would not damn people to hell just because they possess the ability to apply logic to their beliefs.

Is there evidence for science? I don't think so. You can simply say it works, but to what extend is unknown to us. I remain neutral.

so why believe in him? because people can't prove he doesn't exist? pretty weak reason to believe in something.

I admit the idea of living happily ever after in heaven with god and family members sounds fantastic, but let's be realistic here  that's not going to happen

People are often saying, that there is evidence for the world being a certain way and not for there being a God. That is not the real question. The question is whether there is proof for science, not for the things science proves.
They are comparing science to religion, and science is much harder to defend than people think.

All technology is based on science. Technology is very easily observed to exist. Therefore science (which created it), must also exist.

To be fair it sounds like something we made up. The question isn't whether it exists, but whether that take on reality is more probable to be true than there being a God. The scientific method isn't that easy to defend.

not really. its wether you believe in god or doesnt. if you ask for an evidence then you wont believe in him. live your life and die and see for yourself. if you got surprised that there is a god, then you have the eternity to look at the evidence and get owned.

I never meant that i didn't believe that science existed. Stop twisting my words it was very clear what i meant.

define magic ?? and were did it come from ?? who did it ??

So you'll happily believe a magical being came into existence from nothing and created everything but you wont believe the universe is capable of doing "magic" stuff such as coming into existence from nothing? Your level of thinking is so primitive it's pointless debating, you're just going to keep asking "well then who created the stuff that made the universe come into existence" it doesn't work like that, you know that.

we don't 100% know just like when we didn't know why it rained, there were people like you saying it was God crying because he was unhappy about how people were acting. Or when there was thunder, it was God being angry ofcourse once science explained why this stuff happened you people stopped saying such things.

[QUOTE="Brainkiller05"][QUOTE="gubrushadow"][QUOTE="Brainkiller05"] perhaps the universe is magic? that's more likely than there being a magical being coming out of nothingness to create everything.

define magic ?? and were did it come from ?? who did it ??

So you'll happily believe a magical being came into existence from nothing and created everything but you wont believe the universe is capable of doing "magic" stuff such as coming into existence from nothing? Your level of thinking is so primitive it's pointless debating, you're just going to keep asking "well then who created the stuff that made the universe come into existence" it doesn't work like that, you know that.

*sigh* yes i would cuz everything has an origin , the only thing that wont let you beleive in GOD is lucifer , anyway think what you want , its your choice not mine

Maybe it's all just been here.

yes it has been here , but the question is how did it come ??

You missed the point. I'm saying maybe it's all just been here, forever. Just sitting around, being infinite.

Dude, Religion isn't math. You can't take it literally, like you do.
